No points from any Scandi country where they take Eurovision seriously and I assume vote in large numbers

Denmark won the jury vote & public vote. I think. They've done average position for some reason, so not certain
http://www.eurovision.tv/page/news?id=split_results_of_eurovision_2013_revealed&source=twitter&medium=social&campaign=Twitter Netherlands ranked 7th with the juries behind fooking Sweden |

annoyed my Spain for last back didn't come in, strange way to present the split voting when it only has a loose connection to the actual results..
also surprised Bonnie did better with the juries rather than the pv |

I think a few of us are peed off with our Spain to be last bets

DENMARK WON JURY & TELEVOTING
Posted by Alenka Alexandrovic reporting from Switzerland on May 28, 2013 in EBU, EUROVISION | 1 Comment The European Broadcasting Union announced the split results of the jury voting and public choices. We have some interesting things coming ouf of this announcement. Denmark won the combined voting of the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 but also the jury voting and the televoting in the final. Denmark also won the combined and split (jury and public voting) in the first semifinal. First Semifinal Combined Top 10 Denmark, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Belgium, The Netherlands, Belarus, Ireland, Lithuania, Estonia First Semifinal Jury Top 10 Denmark, Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, AUSTRIA, The Netherlands, Belgium, Estonia, Belarus, Ireland First Semifinal Televoting Top 10 Denmark, Russia, Ukraine, MONTENEGRO, Lithuania, Ireland, Belgium, The Netherlands, CROATIA, Moldova Second Semifinal Combined Top 10 Azerbaijan, Greece, Norway, Malta, Romania, Iceland, Armenia, Hungary, Finland, Georgia Second Semifinal Jury Top 10 Malta, Azerbaijan, Greece, Norway, Georgia, Finland, Armenia, Iceland, ISRAEL, SAN MARINO Second Semifinal Televoting Top 10 Romania, Greece, Azerbaijan, Norway, SWITZERLAND, Malta, BULGARIA, Iceland, Hungary, Finland. Final Top 10 Combined Denmark, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Norway, Russia, Greece, Italy, Malta, The Netherlands, Hungary Final Top 10 Jury Denmark, Azerbaijan, SWEDEN, Norway, MOLDOVA, Ukraine, The Netherlands, Malta, FRANCE, GEORGIA. Final Top 10 Televoting Denmark, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Greece, Russia, Norway, ROMANIA, Hungary, Malta, The Netherlands To protect the fairness of the voting, the EBU does not release the split ranking of televoting and jury per country. Publishing these numbers would explicitly highlight if countries don’t meet the televoting threshold – the minimum number of televotes needed to become a statistically valid result – is and where thus only the jury voting was regarded valid. Explicitly highlighting these countries could lead to unwanted disproportionate influence on the televoting in these countries in future years to come. |

Average position is fairly meaningless...
1st, 1st, 25th = average 9th despite getting plenty of points overall Ireland clearly consistently mid-table but not high enough for points But yes horrible numbers to produce, outliers will totally skew the data |
|
By:
Or to put it another way, 1st, 1st, 25th scores as many points as 3rd, 3rd, 3rd - except the average for the former is 9th and average for latter is 3rd - stupid numbers
|
|
By:
indeed jack - I hate this new system and hope they change things for next year.
|
|
By:
Just caught up on this - Spain finished average much lower on BOTH jury and televote than Ireland, but they still beat them?
About 14th on the televote too - but they still get last place! That is ![]() (disclosure: pocket talking completely ) |

By:
+ juries gave Romania lower than 17th place!

How did Ukraine rate so highly with the juries?
I wasn't keen on Moldova but at least it was a well constructed song |
|
By:
I thought other way - wondered how she (Ukraine) did so well in the televote. Could imagine a few juries going for the arty-ness, but thought the televote might dump it.
|
|
By:
I think they did well in the televote for the same reasons as Azerbaijan
![]() |
|
By:
..and I'm not sure it was arty. Just a Lion King type vibe but no real structure to the song after the 1st minute

German national broadcaster is the next one presenting the jury results for the final and the second semifinal in which Germany was eligible to vote. The national jury of Germany was made of Lena, Tim Bendzko, Carolin Niemczyk, Florian Silbereisen and Alina Süggeler. Georgia and Norway missed out in the second semifinal Greece and Romania missed the final voting.

Sweden totally amazes me. A very average song of it's type.

By:
Starting to wonder if, as I pondered during my 2 weeks in Malmo, whether they haven't completely misread these new rankings in some countries - so the last place ranking on some lists has been awarded 1st, and vice-versa. Absolutely baffling results this year.

ROMANIA: JURY VOTES REVEALED
Posted by Alenka Alexandrovic reporting from Switzerland on June 9, 2013 in EUROVISION, ROMANIA | Leave a comment The Romanian press claim to have the results of the national jury for the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 (second semifinal and the grand final). The information we receive from the voting is that Azerbaijan is treated weirdly between the second semifinal and the final. In the second semifinal Azerbaijan gets 1st rank by the jury and fourth in the final. Greece is also treade weirdly as it gets 2nd rank in the second semifinal and 10th rank in the final! Israel missed the top ten in the second semifinal and (surprise) Denmark missed the top ten ranking in the final! FINAL (JURY) 12 points Moldova 10 points Netherlands 08 points Malta 07 points Azerbaijan 06 points United Kingdom 05 points Norway 04 points Belgium 03 points Italy 02 points Sweden 01 point Greece . . . . SEMI 2 (JURY) 12 points Azerbaijan 10 points Greece 08 points Norway 07 points Malta 06 points Albania 05 points Finland 04 points Georgia 03 points San Marino 02 points Iceland 01 point Armenia . |

UK jury officially incompetent - Norway ranked 21st!!! Not surprising when you have dinosaurs like Tony Blackburn and Tony Hatch voicing an opinion:
1. Russia 2. Belgium 3. Denmark 4. Estonia 5. Ukraine 6. Netherlands 7. Georgia 8. Belarus 9. Azerbaijan 10. Iceland 11. Moldova 12. Malta 13. Greece 14. France 15. Armenia 16. Romania 17. Italy 18. Germany 19. Sweden 20. Hungary 21. Norway 22. Ireland 23. Finland 24. Lithuania 25. Spain |

UK: BBC UNVEILS JURY RESULTS Posted by Fotis Konstantopoulos reporting from Greece on June 19, 2013 in EUROVISION, UNITED KINGDOM | Leave a comment The jury votes from the United Kingdom with lots of interesting things. We notice that the jury gave points to Belarus and Azerbaijan but the publi vote didn’t award them anything as we show in the combined result both in the first semifinal and the final. In the first semifinal Lithuania missed the top ten and the same happened with Lithuania in the final. We remind you that televoting results are not available / country this year to any of the national broadcasters. SEMIFINAL 1 JURY 12 points Russia 10 points Austria 08 points Denmark 07 points Estonia 06 points Belgium 05 points Netherlands 04 points Moldova 03 points Belarus 02 points Ukraine 01 point Ireland FINAL JURY 12 points Russia 10 points Belgium 08 points Denmark 07 points Estonia 06 points Ukraine 05 points Netherlands 04 points Georgia 03 points Belarus 02 points Azerbaijan 01 point Iceland |

thanks guys - interesting.
Like you say JR - Blackburn and Hatch, obviously thought it was still 1965. Not so sure about the others, but that Norway result is a travesty. |
