well it said on eurovision.tv site that the voting order was determined from last nights jury results, there was no mention of taking into account the semi-fianl results.
By:
More importantly, if I go off to pub, what time do I need to be back for the voting?
![]() |
By:
so if they did take into account the semi-final results jury/pv there is no mention of it
By:
I guess about 10pm seebee
By:
It was definitely taken into account in previous years. I have not heard anything specifically about this one.
By:
has anybody seen/heard the spain song live? it sounds vaguely ok on the video?? better than the uk one at least
By:
Last year Greece led and finished outside the top 10
Similar could happen this year |
By:
A runaway winner should start slowly unless they are a Loreen type winner who got votes everywhere but France.
By:
on eurovision.tv it says ""The voting order has been determined by the results from last night's Jury Final. An algorithm has been created to try and make the voting as exciting as possible."" link here http://www.eurovision.tv/page/news?id=good_evening_malmoe_-_jury_order_revealed Nothing was said about taking account of the semi-final results so if they did take into account they didn't mention it.

By:
To be honest, my own views are if the contest is to be a close one there is no need to engineer the voting order anyway.
1981, 1988, 1993, 1998, 1999 and to a lesser extent 2005 and 2011 all provided exciting climaxes to the voting naturally without any interference. |
By:
Just bear in mind eurovision.tv is only reporting a summary of what happened. There is a long rule book in which I am sure the points are covered in more detail.

By:
as i recall in 2011 italy won the jury vote by 2 points to azerbaijan and towards the end of the voting italy was seen to rocket up the scoreboard and came second.
By:
so may be this year a country will rocket up the scoreboard towards the end
By:
Italy smashed the jury vote in 2011, but very limited information as to their televoting appeal would have been available due to them being a ) a big 5 country and b) absent from the contest so long before.
By:
they only came 11th in the pv so i guess it didn't appeal to the public
By:
Given a decent PV Italy would have been a stunning winner that year having looked out of it early on.
By:
Yes. I guess that's what they were hoping for
By:
last year sweden won the pv by only 3 points to the grannies but on the night there was quite a difference as the juries placed them 9th
By:
but the grannies came 2nd overall?
By:
I think they won by more like 11 or 12 points Corby, and juries put Russia 11th IIRC.
By:
nobody votes for spain do they?
im honestly thinking about backing them for the big 5! uk is poor, france is weird, germany is poor, italy is distinctly uninspiring. cant see any of em challenging the top 10. im obviously missing something here, italy 1.73 and germany 2.08 to make the top 10...theyre both pretty turgid to my ears |
By:
i hope we have a difference of opinion as to the winners of the juries and pv this year
By:
If the juries put the Russian grannies 9th, then where will they put the Russian Voice winner? You'd have thought rather higher
By:
Yep 11 points separated Russia/Sweden in the televote, and Russia were 11th with Juries.
By:
my bad it was 11 points in the pv not 3 points, Sweden 343, Russia 332, jury had Sweden 296, russia in 11th (not 9th) with 94
By:
If Netherlands has won the jury vote and this algorithm hides it in some way, and with them 4th to go to for the results its possible Netherlands could ahve next to no points after 5 or 6 results. I'll be keeping an eye on this for betting opprtunities

By:
serbia came 3rd overall with being 3rd in pv and 2 with jury
By:
If Lithuania are giving their 12 to the overall jury winner, you would expect it to be Estonia, Russia, Ukraine, Georgia or Azerbaijan. I say if as it's a big if.
By:
theres some right poo this year, how the hell did armenia qualify with that tripe. hurt my ears listening to it.

When was the last time the favourites didn't win the Eurovision? I heard the bookies get it spot on nearly every year
By:
Under the new system, favourites have won 2 of the last 4 years.
Of the other 2, one came 5th and the other around 15th. |
By:
just listened to georgia, and going on the crap ive listened to so far looks a complete shoo-in for a top 10. they always get votes off a whole load of countries too.
By:
Ah I see, so what do we reckon here? Lay Denmark to win?
By:
Have a read, I think most have their own recommended backs rather than laying Denmark.
By:
from the songs ive seen so far, i wouldnt be laying denmark. clear winner for me so far, though ive about 10 songs still to listen to. i only like norway and georgia and neither are close to denmark for me.

Here's what I'm doing -
Laying Denmark after Scott Mills messes up his bit (possibly due to all of his blood going to the wrong head due to his eurovision excitement) Backing Denmark after Azerbajan has voted. Laying the absolute fcuk out of Denmark after France has voted. After Croatia vote? Hopefully I'll have a bit to play about with. |
