I dont think France will get any votes until the 15th country is voting.

..and not a south eastern country given san marino's voting record
By:
well if russia or a soviet block country has won the jury vote then denmark only have to come second in that vote and if they win the pv vote and russia say 3rd in pv then denmark will win overall.

On the Greek issue: greeks are all over Europe - remember they had a dictatorship until the late seventies. A top German schlager song is about Greeks guest workers in Germany http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-M0yKiLT2c plus in the UK we have a big Greek/Cypriot population

By:
I guess I live in a town without many Greeks.

I think everything points to Russia.

It was Norway's national day yesterday if they win tonight the country will go mental
By:
what is national day?
By:
Their price crashed last night too - they were around 10 on Thurs evening and I layed some 7.8 before getting back mid 9s yesterday
By:
I got the countries leading wrong earlier.
Here is what my stats suggest.. Vote 1 - Italy 2 - Norway 3 - Norway 4 - Norway 5 - Norway 6 - Norway and then they drop away a bit. |

It was Norway's national day yesterday Corbyguy

I think I confused them on the graph with Georgia (similar colour)
By:
No, with Ukraine.

By the way Srichaphan thankyou for sharing your analysis. I think in combination with a known voting order your analysis is very useful and I reckon we should all be able to gain an advantage of some sort from it so long as there is no runaway winner

Of course, no-one has a clue really how well the Netherlands will do with their unique song. I guess they'll get an average position. But considering they dont get many votes in the semi finals usually, and rarely qualify for the final, I am not inclined to think theyll challenge to win it.
By:
I would post my graph but I dont know how long it takes Betfair to upload pics.

By:
Russia historically get very few votes from the 1st 6 countries, but from Israel to Armenia they are going to get a sh1t load of votes
By:
They're even in Norways top 10
By:
and I dont want to say who I think is going to come 4th-10th because that is where I plan to make my big money :)

By:
Someone told me I was a fool earlier and that Ireland would win.

By:
i can't see it, i read a blog earlier and irelands vocals were a bit off in the jury rehersal so he may not score too high with the jury

I sometimes think the Netherlands is akin to Pastora Soler for Spain last year. A lot of love for her voice but not much televote love
By:
The Russia vote is interesting. Yes, there are LOTS of ex Soviet countries voting. It is in English. It's a decent song. But are they going to shun it because it is an anti-war song? I doubt it, but there is a chance of that.
By:
Ireland wont win
By:
I think this year's Russia has a danger of getting a result similar to Mamo in 2009 (11th on 91 points) - little support beyond its bastions and muted support at that
By:
I see the appeal of Denmark's song - to an extent it has something for everyone in Europe - flute sounds for the western countries/Scandinavia, a singing style that will be liked by the Meditterranean countries, and a marching rhythm that the Soviet countries will like - but even so, it is quite repetitive and I dont think the juries will like it that much.
By:
and I think a ballad is due to win anyway.

By:
greece now 32

I think Denmark is a fine song but really can only exist within eurovision and somehow I think that it will not connect enough with the viewers in the Balkans in particular. If it does win the voting will be quite western biased in the way that it was eastern biased when Dima won for Russia in 2008. I do think at least one male ballad will do well - look at Belgium and Lithuania in Semi 1
By:
If a ballad does win, it needs to have a crescendo near the end, and there are two that are fit that billing as far as I can recall - Russia and Georgia.

;-) yes it could be a sign (but Dima did have to enter 2 times..)
