if denmark gets some 8's 10's and 12's by the 6th vote then it could go on to win
By:
Russia the only one in it's historic top 10 tho
By:
It will get one from Sweden in the second vote, for sure, but if it gets more I think youre right.
By:
the pv will of course alter the jury votes
By:
Yes, will be interesting to see how it does this year, as they have 26 votes to combine not just 10.
By:
25, even.
By:
Well I'm none the wiser
By:
as you said earlier if these first few countries start giving votes to countries it doesn't statistically give then the winner may be one of those countires getting votes
By:
Yes, quite possibly, unless they have organised the voting to account for that.
By:
be careful when judging which countries have given the most votes to other countries though, because it is not just a matter of total votes - you have to combine that with the number of opportunities they have had to vote for them.
By:
sweden normally gives the 12 to norway so if they give it to denmark then it could go onto win
By:
To me it looks like Norway & Denmark are going to get too good a start to win, if they are looking to hide the winner
By:
Sweden to Norway and Finland yes, but they do give Denmark big votes too so a bit of a risk to guess theyre the winners from that I would think. If Albania, voting third, give Denmark big points, then you'll know.
By:
I dont think Denmark, other than the 2nd vote, will get a lot of votes at the start. Norway will yes.
By:
Denmark's biggest votes will come between this range
EST GER ICE FRA GRE IRE DEN MNT SLO |
By:
if san marino the first country to vote gives denmark point then it could win.
By:
Yeah, I cant see that somehow Corbyguy.
By:
Given the quality of the song, I'd expect, Sweden, Netherlands, UK and maybe Austria to all give Denmark high marks
By:
i'm thinking start of slow a few small points here and then middle to high later on
By:
These are the countries that rarely vote for Denmark, so you know whether to watch for votes from them..
San Marino, Albania, Israel, Serbia, Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Russia, Greece, Georgia, Macedonia, Cyprus, Croatia. |
By:
San Marino tends to look East. Apart from Italy who I am sure will get 12 pts
By:
Something I have never understood is the affinity of some of these countries to Greece. I get the San Marino Italy thing, and the Balkans and the Russians etc. but why Greece?
By:
Quite a few Greeks in San marino?
By:
Turkey-Germany, Ireland-Lithuania, Netherlands-Armenia, Moldova-Romania, all diaspora etc. but are Greeks really that far flung?
By:
we have plenty of polish here but they are not in it this year
By:
Even the UK gives a lot of votes to Greece.
By:
UK
IRELAND 12 GREECE 10 MALTA 8 LITHUANIA 7 SWEDEN 6 NORWAY 5 NETHERLANDS 4 ICELAND 3 ITALY 2 UKRAINE 1 |
By:
we gave cyprus their only 2 points in the late 1990's
By:
to the female that sang thane erotas
By:
Yes, and sometimes Cyprus gives votes back, strange that
![]() |
By:
A large Greek community here. That's why
By:
there is?
By:
In the UK? Yes. 400,000 according to wiki
By:
If the UK gives lots of votes to the Greek song this year I shall be appalled.
By:
we will probably give it to denmark
By:
I think it'll be Ireland again.
By:
so watch the uk votes in 6th
By:
Im going to watch Georgia's votes carefully. They are a popular country, get lots of smaller votes, and if those smaller votes start to get bigger, I'll be on them.
By:
and Italy, because they have been quite popular in the two contests they have competed in, and without the Balkan countries, their votes may get bigger too.
By:
It strikes me if they are trying to hide the winner early on then it's likely to be an ex soviet state. Or the mother country itself, Russia
