Can't imagine why a track like Teardrops would be a chart entry anywhere personally - it might win eurovision, but it is so not a chart track.

2/1 Denmark is a joke price for me and that even though I can see it is popular with the youtubers and esc polls.  I just think if it gets a bad draw in the final it could get lost in the mix in what could be a close year with a bunching at the top.

..and if it is not a chart track as has been demonstrated above then it shouldn't be getting the jury votes where that is a factor ie relevance.

AUSTRIA can be very favourably compared to either Denmark or Norway who are first and second favs go guys have a listen. If that is the case then Austria could be an almighty steal you know honest. I have had a bit more just now.

I love it. The lyrics aren't great but the best tune in the contest. It probably won't even qualify from that tough semi final but who knows.
I can definitely see some shocks in the 1st semi.

Austria a very nice little tune and a female singer who smiles and is engaging. Which is a rarity this year.

Romania is crazy Grin which will make it stand out

I am with the general view that Denmark is an insane price and because of this there's some great value around on many of the others.

I will be red on it for sure now. If it wins then fair enough but no way is it a value bet. I'd have it around 7.0

George havent looked at those charts before, but last 2 years Lena and Loreen both made the 20's in the Euro playlist at this time. Nothing with the same pre-show 'buzz' this year You can view history i.e Apr 2010: http://www.charly1300.com/euroairplay/euroairplay242.htm

Cheers Dicky. Excellent info. I know Lena was getting plenty of airplay. She was no.1 on some Turkish radio stations

Yeah thanks Dicky good stuff as usual. Does seem to be some correlation but like you say no real buzz this year..but there again all knowledge is power so even silence can be golden.

With nothing significantly charting across Europe, maybe it suggests there isn't a stand-out song this year, so makes you wonder if we're in for a 2011-type contest & a nation with big voting strength & an all-round competent entry winning.

n1 GB Cool

It does have the feel of 2011 jr.
Though I'd argue that Running Scared was a far better song than any of the songs the eastern countries with a built in voting strength have produced this year.
I could see a real shock like Estonia in 2001

Ukraine would fit that bill...along with others of course.

Its similar in that they are both a bit artificial in construction.

Gravity has a very good song in it somewhere Sad
By:

When: 06 Apr 13 16:42
That's the difference. Running scared worked as a song and the staging was excellent. It also had the hook of the oh-oh's
Gravity starts well but quickly tails off

Yeah lacks a decent middle eight but on the other hand she is a fabulous singer and it might be the right sort of happy clappy tosh for these bleak days.

I see Denmarks price has shortened again. Now 2.96 to back and 3.10 to layCrazy

Someone has either lumped on over £2000 to lay at 2.96 to make a profit from backing at a longer price or somone is laying in the hope that the price will get longer in order to make a profit.

The win market just gone a bit bananas, Denmark matched at 2 for plenty, Belarus matched at 680, a few upwardly spikey graphs for a few minutes, someones bot maybe gone mental.

Georgia looks a strong entry this year for me at the prices.  Netherlands plenty short as surely they're always friendless, Joan last year didnt get out the semis and song was good enough to my ears.  Any thoughts on Switzerland?
By:
George Bailey
When: 10 Apr 13 00:31
The Swiss aren't friendless on the interweb but not one for me.  I remember backing the vampire song a few years back and it did even make the final.

Think I have been wasting my time collating the Top 10 youtube videos. Someone did about 60 from last year and they only got 4 out of the top 10 right.  Loreen well ahead though as is Denmark this year so make of that what you will.

GB2 Is Denmark really well ahead on the YT vids - is that based on views or ranking videos?
By:

Definitely not on views. It's doing relatively poorly

I had a few bets matched at exactly same time last night around 9:26 including 500 of that evens so maybe an accident.. even so price hasnt retured to previous 2/1. Looks like I'l be going in on the night with Denmark only serious red, butat least got average lay price down to around 3.3

Yep, was surprised by GB2s findings - didn't seem to be doing great any way on YT to me?
