Lucy will be over exposed and over hyped with no journey to take, she really bores the feck out of me already, 20/1 may not even be value on her
By:
She has a back story with her acceptance of her sexuality and bullying. She is adept at altering cover versions and she is talented and likeable. If she makes the lives, which of course is no certainty, then she will be favourite........This girl ain't bouncing on no Space Hopper

She's no fanny woo for me Hems.
I find her stuff rather dull and most of those who like it will be out on a saturday night |
By:
I won't be
![]() A rare difference of opinion.I suspect most forumites will view her as a false favourite, similar to say Janet Devlin. I have a feeling her cover versions may be pretty innovative, and her personality likeable. All irrelevant if she doesn't make the lives of course. |
By:
I think the nation was surprised by her novelty song, we`re not used to that on XF. Having a catchy ditty is one thing, winning rhe XF on the back of it is another thing altogether.
By:
Everyone is assuming she's a one trick pony tim....I don't think she is.

Hemsbu
no, she may well not be. But I think too much of her current popularity is based on that song, rather than on her. I think you have her at double figures, so you will be able to trade her profitably, especially as she seems likely ro open very low on here. |

why would she open low on here, you can still get ten's @365 , and thats robbery
By:
Rumours are she does well at bootcamp, which is likely to see her shorten
By:
The price descrepency is because at the moment there is no guarantee she even makes the lives. Also her performance at Boot Camp may see her price contract.

I've only listened to 2 of her performances Hems. The 2 on the other place...and I gave up on the 2nd one before the end

this is the same sh1t the cowell pr machine pull every year, pimp someone for headlines, then get more headlines when they get the boot early, build them up knock them down, the poor cow is half way through a meat grinder and she don't even know it ![]() |
By:
She looks a good trade for those who can get on, but not a winner for me.
at least 2 others that we've seen already have better longterm prospects for me |
By:
We almost always seem to have the same opinion on contestants,so when a difference of opinion occurs,it does make me question my judgement.Dont want to say too much here, but suffice to say I thought different to yourself.
By:
Maybe it was the quality of the recording.
I'll take a look at some of her youtube stuff as we do usually agree |
By:
Just listened again on the other place. I just find her voice rather monotonous.
btw is Rye the chimney sweep? |
By:
Kye even.
To answer my own question it is. |
By:
Yes he is.Had a previous Sony contract I believe.
There's a YouTube clip of LS at Bootcamp, although its spoiled by some plum singing all over it.Its her doing the mash up of a few numbers. Also another you tube clip from the extra factor of her meeting Olly Murs and also performing a second song at audition that didn't get screened.I get the feeling she may be a touch marmite musically, however I feel her personality is quite infectious and that may be enough to overcome it. |
By:
The Kye Chimney Sweep story looks like being similar to the Andy Bin Man one......ie both far more experienced in the music profession than we are led to believe.
By:
..and neither that good.
I'm down to one now. |

By:
Lucy better with visuals TBF

Just watched James Arthurs audition again.
Amazing! Best thing since Vickers version of Hallelujah. I can't see him getting close to winning tho |
By:
I kind of liked him,I just found him a little uncomfortable to watch. Then again I remember saying the same thing about Phil Philips grunting after originally picking him out as a potential winner

SCowell back to re-edit the remaining shows - more singers to be shown and less TOWIE-style filming of contestants at home, work, etc.

see the guy who marked his neighbour's karaoke efforts out of ten with comments and posted it on twitter!!
On DS Headlines atm. |
By:
That seems a far too early finish for XF, squares - can we read into that they will throw in another twist & give a 2nd chance to someone perhaps, so it is extended by another week, possibly 2?
By:
It does seem early with the way the December weekends fall.
The final is usually over the 2nd weekend of December - about the 11th/12th ish, with the SCD Final the following weekend. I have seen somewhere that the SCD final might be on the 22nd though. There's also SPOTY show. Anyone know the date for that? Maybe Sunday 16th - you wouldn't think XF final show would want to be the same time as that? |
By:
Wonder if SPOTY might be on December 23 this year - to try & get even bigger numbers & turn it into big w/e for Beeb.
Given the antics last year what with mentors choosing who to drop among final 4, & then bringing Amelia back, some sort of twist is surely on the cards. |

So close to Christmas for everyone to be available to be there tho.

Home > X Factor 2012 > X Factor 2012: Gary Barlow & Cheryl Cole choose 3 singers – only final 12 contestants will make live shows
X Factor 2012: Gary Barlow & Cheryl Cole choose 3 singers – only final 12 contestants will make live shows September 10th, 2012 by Lisa McGarry. Simon Cowell has promised big changes to the X Factor format this year and it seems he has started with the amount of acts featured on the live shows. Gary Barlow is currently filming his judges houses stage of the competition – and is the last panelist to do so – and has hinted that only three acts from each category will make it past the final audition stage and onto the live rounds which start on ITV1 early next month. For the past two years we have seen the judges bring four hopefuls each to the finals, meaning that the lineup consisted of sixteen. However in the first week of the 2011 live shows the stars were each made to cut one act, without the result going to the public vote, meaning that the numbers dwindled pretty quickly. This year it has been reported that Gary, Louis Walsh, Tulisa Contostavlos and Nicole Scherzinger only brought six acts to judges houses – instead of the usual eight – and were allowed to pick only three to advance on in the competition. Gary whittled his category down yesterday and later tweeted his followers, writing: “Back at judges houses, it’s time for 3 yes’s and 3 no’s ! I hate this bit” The dad of three caused quite the furore over the weekend, when it was confirmed that he had managed to persuade Cheryl Cole to join him at judges houses as his assistant. The former Girls Aloud singer had previously sworn that she would have nothing to do with the series ever again, since being sacked from the American version by Simon Cowell last year. However, she was flown to a huge and sprawling English stately home at the weekend and joined her favourite Take That star as he heard his hopefuls make their last ditch attempt to impress their mentor. Gary thanked her for showing up and added: “Thank you @CherylCole for all your help this weekend. The contestants and I loved having you there xx” With all the final choices made, it seems that the X Factor judges have their final twelve contestants all sitting ready for the live rounds when they start in just a few weeks time. However, this is a Simon Cowell show and anything could change between now and then. You never know when he’ll decide that he wants a few wildcards, or a shocking comeback by one of the previously rejected contestants….anything is possible! Are you excited about the start of the live shows? Who do you think has made it through? Leave your comments below and check out our list of the singers that made it to bootcamp here. Apologies if already posted elsewhere. |
