wore them for a week to add some body to them.
88/54 the score on the door. |

Slovenia - seem to have taken their "look" from last year's winners. Song just doesn't go anywhere which is a shame as there's a lot of potential there for a good vocal/performance.
Croatia - same again really, plenty of potential but song doesn't go anywhere. Sweden - agree that this is certainly no Fairytale. Has a sort of Kate Bush vibe about her, movements similar to those in Wuthering Heights, etc., but wildly shouting the same word over and over again doesn't do it for me. Sound quality seems awful tho tbf. |

"wildly shouting the same word over and over again doesn't do it for me."
ditto...EUPHORIA is all your left with and it's basically all you can hear. |

Sweden is virtually the same performance as the national final. They now have to do all the backing vocals live and three backing singers are placed behind the podium, but off camera. They are not providing anything like the power needed to produce the full sound of the studio version. Most of the performances is either a mess of hair or shot in silhouette so there is no real connection to the camera and the audience. It dance moves flow well, but it’s rather unexciting. I still expect to see it qualify, but it need to improve and get a great draw to be a contender to win. Right Now Russia, Romania, Iceland and Serbia are ahead of it.
thats Keith from AKOEs opinion and its pretty much where I stand. |

Sweden well what can I say. 2.84? you are having a laugh
Put aside fan preconceptions and polling and get people to view that rehearsal in comparison to most of day 1 and 2 and it would not be favourite - of that I'm absolutely certain. Will juries like this performance? It can win in an open year but the price. Have I mentioned the odds? ![]() |

However if I was a huge Sweden fan I wouldn't be that worried by this as a first rehearsal

Georgia - it's the love child of Rhydian and Boris Becker. Talk about trying to cram a lot into 3 minutes - bonkers.

153/107 seems "euphoria" is far from universally liked.

I'm hoping its an 'Emperor's New Clothes' moment the Sweden rehearsal. Gradually it will dawn on people its not the second coming of Rybak and the price will drift, but its hope rather than expectation. Why hoping its price drifts - not for me to get onboard, hell no, I'm at the stage I'm actually feeling sorry for the mugs backing it
![]() For the moment no reaction in the price here and the highstreet seem to have made it even stronger favourite. |

Turkey's about as bad as it gets...a totally awful moaning and he wears a sack too.

SWEDEN update 166/124.

Turkey - much much worse than I remembered. Not good live at all, although the sound quality seems particularly dreadful today.

Toyah on Vintage tv - would have been perfect for Eurovision

Turkey is fine. This will do better than most people think a little like Greece last year. Seems very popular in the region. Much better than most of the rubbish yesterday so i'd imagine its an easy enough qualifier.

Its an acquired taste, I can understand why people don't like it but I quite enjoy it. Not saying it has a chance of winning ofc but could still make top 10

This Charming Man now - can just imagine FLL doing his impression swinging his glads around

LOL. Just catching up.
The Swedish naysayers out in force i see ![]() |

oiko times Seden opinion : Finally we all wake up with Sweden: Loreen is simply amazing both vocally and in movement. Dark colors on stage with shades of blue, green and purple. I love this one and it will win!
Rose tinted specs methinks ![]() |

The best 1st. Sweden.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mJJ1fTr2WQ&feature=plcp As good as it was at the MF for me. Vocally strong and atmospheric. I trust AKOE Keith's ability to be objectice about as much as I trust your average back bencher at PMQ's to be so. |

Estonia - was just thinking he had a face i'd never tire of punching, then realised he reminds me of Mark (from Sam & Mark).
This must actually have massive impact live as it barely registered with me before. |

By:
oiko times has proved to be much more on the button than AKOE over the years.

Very interested to see what Rob thinks tonight on entertainment odds re Loreen. From the ESC blog chat apperently Dan thinks there was nothing there to change his views sbout Sweden or in other words the problems others may be seeing with Swedens rehearsal weren't apparent to him

|
By:
I would hazard a guess that he thinks it's brilliant.
|
|
By:
They weren't apparent to me either.
Weren't oiko times very keen on Azer last year?, while most blogs kept banging on about the female singers voice or their apparently poor interaction. |
|
By:
No idea leaves just was searching around for a few other opinion

Estonia has a great singer but I can't help finding the song a bit dull. Its one a lot have picked out as good jury score potential

lenna woz robbed for Estonia.
I could have seen her and the song building a following similar to Lena with one n. |

Seems to me the rehearsals are only pushing some outsiders further out and a good rehearsal gets a muted response. Guess thats down to Sweden
Romania 25 from 30 Iceland 23 from 36 hardly worth trading. Cyprus probably the biggest move or am I missing anything? |

I'm scared for Norway - will I be backing it in the 50's after tonight

From your Azer express last year Bex.
Oik times Eldar and Nigar are giving an amazing performance with one of the best songs this year. Both dressed in white and their chemistry is strong working perfect on camera. This is so going to be amongst the winners in the final! Vocally the performance is excellent and the stage is full of white and golden lights. The pyros used make the entire song looking great in the monitors. |

Rusia 11.5 from 14 I guess is significant enough
|
|
By:
iirc AKOE were leading the naysayers
|
|
By:
Yes leaves but is it the same reviewer - they have a few from what I can see?
|
|
By:
Iceland 23 from 26 that should have read *
|
|
By:
2.9 for Sweden now the lasrge block bet has gone hmm can we see 3 before next rehearsal?
|
|
By:
True, but again iirc they were all very positive on there.
There was one reviewer who was very tongue in cheek about all every song and slagged them all off. |
|
By:
To be fair to Keith I'd say its the other muppets on his team that were so wildly wrong about last year although I take his observations onboard more on presentation rather than the song. I know he didn't rate Sweden before the rehearsal anway

AKOE female:Well we had the favourite on with Loreen and Euphoria. Now this was the busiest the arena has been for a rehearsal so obviously people wanted to judge the hype. In my opinion the re are too many people wanting this song to do badly purely because it is Sweden and it is a fan favourite.Loreen certainly is very strinking and I find the performance quite mesmorising. Considering how much she is dancing, the vocals are very good on it. It does have a bit of echo in the arena and perhaps could do with stronger backing vocals. When the backdrop turns to snow it then begins to snow within the arena and it looks stunning. I think this song is going to do really really well this year and is rightfully up there as one of the favourites.
Now I'd be afraid, really afraid by this ![]() |
