Agree with Belarus/Portugal - its an extremely weak semi this. No way will I get Sweden eliminated from amongst this mince
![]() I think my large qualifying wager won't be difficult to find in this semi |

what absolutely w@nk this semi is. SF1 much more entertaining and fun, and probably something decent will miss out.

Agreed

Totally agree squares. This semi will be a tough watch.

Sweden looking a penalty kick in this semi, based on song and performance.
Assuming it's up to the standard of the MF one. Going back to Netherlands. Altho I miss the drummers thighs, I do think dropping the dancing girls has worked and makes the whole performance look a little less fluffy and happy clappy |

I was hopeful for this, but not a very good vocal

To slightly misquote clay. Sweden is going to look like Arkle in this semi.

Bulgaria to end a very poor 1st half. I'm not sure E will be required to get thru this semi, but maybe a handful of prozac

It would seem that it is still anyones game as to who will be the winner for the first semi being as there are only 12 points between 1st and 5th so anyone could well be the winner on the night of the 1st semi final.

By:
thanks for posting that JOT.
the 1st thing to hit me is how well Greece scored considering their performance...i would take Greece,Cyprus & Romania and bin the rest...nothing else in that list has the remotest chance of winning imo. |
|
By:
Cheers JOT.
No real surprises, except maybe Greece above Cyprus and Denmark down in 7th. |

everything pointing to "the big five" playing a major part in proceedings me finks.
if you take sweden & norway tomorrow along with greece, cyprus & romania, add the big five...that gives you the top 10...simples ![]() |

The first half of semi final 2 is pretty shocking. Serbia and probably Ukraine the only likely qualifiers from the first 8 traps, although I put Belarus in with a good shout too. There is quite a lot of ex soviet diaspora in the semi, as well as the balkans, so there will probably be big points from Georgia & Ukraine (could trade 10's and 12's here) as well as some other mid range points elsewhere.

as the rehearsals are passing i mostly believe that loreen has the 1st place in her pocket noone impressive till now....many singers cant perform live.....not even the #2 final draw of sweden if it happens can ruin their win...just that....

The sound that people hear on the rehearsal videos is not the same exact sound that the viewers hear on the television as I think the sound is piped to the viewer. It can be misleading on these rehearsals hearing if the person can sing live or not etc. as it can tend to come across that they are out of tune etc. Some of the singers so far do seem that they really are out of tune and that they can't sing to save their own life. There is still another day of rehearsals and then there are the dress rehearsals to go before the actual live event of the semi finals. I personally will wait until i see and hear the performances during the actual semi final performance and then judge on that performance to judge on the singer.

Bexley - I advised those to a few friends as a trade or small ew when they were at 40/1 and 90/1 on here so most are happy but I wouldn't be telling anyone to back anything this year with any confidence
I'm with you on this one bexley. Previous years I had a set pick I thought would/could win (bosnia last year for example) plus various ones for trading purposes. People coming up to me now from teh work experience kid to the lad the McDonalds drive thru asking for my pick but these people just want a tip they can stick a fiver on and hopefully win. Hard to actually advise people who don't have a Betafir acct for trading purposes. Finding myself now advising Serbia as the 'pot shot for a fiver' as if nothing else it should get a good run so if and when it doesn't win, I've at least advised a good loser! Just wish all my acquaintances had a BF and understood trading and I could advise much wiser bets! |

MIlan Barosh "everything pointing to "the big five" playing a major part in proceedings me finks.
if you take sweden & norway tomorrow along with greece, cyprus & romania, add the big five...that gives you the top 10...simples " As a generalised shout that's not too bad a call. My pocket would be happy with that....just providing Norway win of course |

Love the graphics on the boards of the Ukraine staging. Stolen an idea from Ireland last year on that one and it looks good.
The words have slightly changed which makes the vocal sound wrong as we're used to hearing it sung with different lyrcs. That said, there are points that Gaitana appears out of breath! Not great and one I've just traded for a freebet and nothing else. The racism factor worries me with her as well. It shouldn't be an issue but no point in being an ostrich about it! |

Funny how one semi is always so much stronger than the other. I guess whatever money I have in my BF accout come Thursday 7pm will be going on the Swedish qualifying.

Does anyone know how the grannies won in Russia? And by that I mean what was the voting proceduire? 100% phone vote? 50/50? Just those in the stadium? Jury only?
|

50 v 50 and the grannies beat the runner up 38 to 26.
