5...fyi the last 2 winners actually won before the contest started...Lena was poor on final night and the Azeri female still can't sing in tune...how did they win?...Lena's song was quirky and unique... Azer had the ££££...simples.
what i have said in my previous post is my opinion of Sweden...no need to namecall...you big bitch you ![]() |

I love reading your views funky. Even if most of them are crazy, you can often spot a gemThose who followed you on moldova last year would have had a great trade. |
|
By:
Don't think Azer having the cash to host the contest would have been a factor in the mind of the viewer. Jury maybe but only because Cowell Inc has made us all cynics.
|
|
By:
I would add Azer also had the song and excellent staging and topped the televote.
|
|
By:
call me cynical but Azeri had ploughed an awful lot of £ into eurovision the 2 years before they won it...they then win it with a lavish set and an odd couple, the female could not even sing FFS !

Lena was poor on final night
That's been overstated. I think the overall performance was great, with the camerawork better even than the video. |

Interesting comments re. Sweden. I'm firmly a layer and while I think the song is pretty good I'm a little baffled as to way it's such a clear leader. Loreen not especially attractive, staging dark, song 90's style (as were Iceland in 2010 and Croatia 2011 - neither did that well)
To me the odds for this year should mirror last week's Grand National i.e. no one under 10.00 but 7 or 8 runners all bunched up between 10.00 and 20.00 |

I can't wait for the rehearsals to start. This downtime in the middle is dragging by so slowly - anyone else?

I have measured out my life in ESC rehearsals

I know it's going back to days before the internet became truly popular, and juries etc. but 2000, 2001 and 2002 all had surprise winners, none of whom were close to the top of any polls. Most were firmly rooted near the bottom. There's not been a truly shock win since, but Italy nearly did it last year and whos to say this year won't be the one to buck the trend.

I hope you're right pk.
If Finland or the Netherlands win, you won't see me again ![]() |

nah if there is going to be a shock winner its Malta leaves

Going by some of the comments on here Sweden will be the shock winner

Netherlands for the shock win - currently trading at 12s on here. The shrewdies are piling on board

"if The Netherlands win"...................and i'm insane ?

It wouldn't surprise me if it failed to qualify. Which would be a crying shame given some of the dross. They don't have a great record in qualifying. |
|
By:
I reckon it could be one of those 'minnows heavily supported by the juries' types.

Damn some shrwedie has undercut me on Malta again...

It deserves to be jr. She has a wonderful voice and the song is a real beauty. The Native american theme worries me as it could make the juries think 'novelty'. Which they always run a mile from.
12 now and I was last matched @ 340. It's like Jonty or Hira on steroids ![]() |
|
By:
The same could be said for Finland too which should definitely be rewarded by the juries.
|
|
By:
I agree - I could see both those sneaking through and favour them over a fair few trading at shorter in 'to qualify' betting.

the lyrics on the Finland entry are really filthy...starts off "jack & jill often have a stroke"...then "shoot an he blow"...also heard "licked out and used" the farrier, in there too
Someone has posted the English translation. I'll try and find it.
I've also tweeted the lovely Joan Franka and suggested she might change the costumes. I doubt she'll listen, but GB2 & jr have had success on that front. ![]() |

Close to each other, the scent of you and me.
Turn around, the same shirt in blue. (blue a lucky colour in ESC. Who can forget Lena's new blue knickers) The scent I can smell, would be nothing without you. Like a lake without water, like a lantern without a light. A life without colors, it's not who you are. Someone you can see when you close your eyes, like an angel in front of you. Someone that teaches you to fly, when you've forgotten how. Love without feelings, or to laugh without sound. A life without colors, it's not who you are. someone who has forgotten all troubles, a woman with courage. Someone that understands you, even though you speak without words Sit down, we will hold your hand. Tell us who you are, we are here for eachother. all the memories, would be nothing without you. Repeat Part 2 twice. |

It loses a little in transaltion I suspect. I'm glad they kept it in Finnish/Swedish

Signing into the anti-Sweden club - as far as I can see dance tunes only do well if done by an exceptionally good looking male. All the people who like clubbing will be out clubbing on a Saturday night ffs!
Had the Netherlands song in my head all day - cracker of a song would make my year if they won"jack & jill often have a stroke"...then "shoot an he blow"...also heard "licked out and used" ![]() I hear it too |

I'm in the pro Sweden club. To me it's one of the few songs that upon first listen stood out as something that I could envisage hearing on the radio and that had commercial appeal, something which I think has become a significant factor in determining the winner in the last few years.
Its well performed and one of the few songs in its genre this year, so I believe it certainly has the potential to resonate well with both the public and jury, which is something I cannot say for a lot of the other entries. In saying that it represents no value at the current price as there is just too many variables at this stage (final staging/draw), however for me its still a worthy favourite. In terms of current value Ive been chipping away at Norway and Romania, as they were the other entries that appealed to me on first listen as being unique and also having the ability to rate highly in both the jury and televote. |

Just seen this posted on teh eurovision.tv site. A lot of made of youtube hits but this chap has actually anlaysed the 'likes and dislikes' (something I have to admit has never occurred to me if I'm honest.) It's not that outrageous to think of the ones at the top of this chart finishing near the top. Montenegro is obviously high on first glance. The big surprises are Norway and Sweden both in mid table. Pretty much the entire bottom 20 reflects what you'd expect (except for the excellent France!)
Posted on 12/April 2012 at 14:01 by a user atomrax Currently, ranking given by the ratio of likes and dislikes on youtube is: Russia 4278 Cypru 3754 Great Britain 2537 Azerbaidjan 2532 Germany 2328 Spain 2117 Turkey 1925 Romania 1888 Island 1717 Italy 1455 Albania 1397 Montenegro 1286 Estonia 1252 Ireland 1188 Greece 1153 Hungary 1127 Serbia 1063 Suedia 1048 Croatia 930 Norway 910 Slovakia 903 Bosnia H 830 Macedonia 787 Latvia 740 Denmark 731 Malta 712 Finland 673 Slovenia 637 France 606 Switzerland 571 Ucraine 536 Moldova 513 Lithuania 485 Belarus 427 The Netherlands 419 Portugal 328 Israel 285 Bulgaria 210 Belgium 49 Austria -154 Georgia -368 San Marino -1041 |

Interesting enough honestcl but the fact Russia and Cyprus are at the top almost instinctively make me distrust its findings
![]() Can anyone who perhaps noted these last year tell me whether Loreen is ahead of Eric Saade in youtube hits and i-tune sales at this stage. Even a rough approximation? Ahead, Equal, Behind? If they were behind then I'd just about write off Swedens chances of winning tbh, failing a 21-25 draw in the final (if it makes it through) |
