She’s not particularly clever doc It’s not an act and she is being unfairly treated in front of millions of people . Many many people were involved over many years .. including lawyers No one knew what the heck was going on Seriously lfc you believe they don't know what has been going on? Even with all the emails stating this might open us up to other cases etc. Pretty sure they all knew a fair bit, if not most of what was going on, but put the reputation / post office as a business above the lives of the innocent subpostmasters. |

Why the system broke down , why the computer system broke down
what exactly happened , whose job was it fix those problems What was the problem - exactly and how was it fixed ? |

A lot of the emails / reports show they knew there was problems with the system. Instead of fixing the problems and admitting them they covered them up.
There was a report in 2012 I believe stating people could enter and alter subpostmasters accounts without them knowing. They went to court and admittedly denied this was possible even though the post office was fully aware. Whether or not a person fixed an IT issue or not does not condone pressing on and ruining people's lives with court cases instead of just taking the financial hit of fixing the system and paying out for the errors. Instead the lawyers and post office knew full well they were presenting misleading evidence in court when all the subpostmasters said there was a fault with the system and the P/O and lawyers continually stated there have never been problems. My guess is the system was dodgy to start with and there are questions over why it was selected in the first place, that in itself is another bag of worms as it ranked low in all the performance ratings. Though having selected it and the enormous cost it was, the post office and board were told it was too expensive to replace and so they had to deny there were errors. Potentially it may have simply started as a lawyer saying to all the post office management to deny there were errors with the system, when this was first found, as that would have meant subpostmasters could have taken out money from the till and then claimed it was a Horizon error and the post office would have to reimburse. From there it could have snowballed and the management backing themselves into a corner. Its blatantly obvious they have had a senior team there that put the reputation / profits of the post office above all else including justice. |

The point I am trying to make is
If you are going to accuse someone , Ms Vennels , of deliberately covering up a bug in the system - that caused these faults .. you need at least to be able to say - here is that bug ,this is what it did and this is when it was fixed .. |

lfc The fixing / details of the bug is obviously not her job role, what is her responsibility was when they knew about it and why they kept on prosecuting. As CEO she should have stopped them when there were known doubts when she was as heavily involved as was obvious.
Did you watch yesterday where the lawyer pointed out she went to MPs who were trying to sort out the mess and mislead them with statements. Then also where he showed a report which showed they knew people could access subpostmasters accounts and alter them remotely, which they lied to the subpostmasters about and also in court saying it can't be done. Vennels and the post office knew all this then carried on prosecuting innocent people regardless. |

Here is the fundamental problem with the accusations
against Ms Vennels eg You can’t claim that there was a deliberate cover up of system failures relating to these sub offices if you cannot point out the computer bug that caused these failures , When that bug was discovered , the nature of that bug , what it did , why and how it happened , and when it was fixed .. |

lfc the bug is not the issue here at this stage now. This was mainly the problem when subpostmasters were defending themselves in court, which they should have been ablee to use as a defence but was denied by the post office.
They prosecuted (wrongly) 100's of innocent people. A lot of these prosecutions happened after they were well aware that there were problems / bugs with the system but denied it, which is obviously against the law as you have a duty to disclose information such as this. The reason we are here now is because they continued to prosecute when anyone with any decency would have stopped. Those decisions were made by people in the post office management team and lawyers acting for them / employed by them. |

Are you out of your mind? This is about hundreds of HONEST people not just being accused of being dishonest but sent to prison and death because these Executives lied and perjured themselves in Court! |

Its a sure thing that many within the post office and especially Fujitsu
knew the Horizon system was not fit for anything but the bin And the vast majority of these people with that knowledge of just how unfit for use will not be in court The really worrying thing is that not one of these people spoke up |
