Yes, because of the population size, hence I used Wales example.

Keep up lad keep up

If DUP to back to work the budget will be restored, as above.

It's coercion by the Tories, because absolutely no one gives a toss about the DUP unionists, not Dublin not London, they are history.

No point having a general election if Stormont is closed
Don’t be silly

I suppose it suits SF even more, people not getting properly governed with budgets aren't pointing the finger at them but the dup,the downward trajectory is their own making.

They can stop paying them.

They can devolve powers, they are.
By:
lfc1971
When: 25 May 23 19:13
Ah , Stormont is devolved power .. and people in NI have voted for unionists
I’m afraid there’s no getting around that Fact

DUP - We have made clear, the fundamental problems with the protocol
need to be addressed
‘ in all our discussions we have made clear that a financial settlement is not,
and will never, influence that.
Of course the budget needs fixed , it is an entirely separate discussion
We will fight for the best financial deal . No financial negotiations will
influence us seeking a fair deal on the protocol issues ….

God I really do have to spell it out for you lfc,try now to get the concept.

If I have to build from scratch in NO a new rail network and you had to do it in England, it would cost more for NI per capita.

It's been forecast and measured as required at a need of £124 per person but they are now only getting 121 per capita.required

That means an understatement lfc.

Underpayment*
By:

When: 25 May 23 22:00
That would come under the department of infrastructure of the U.K. government
Therefore people  in NI would not be paying more - U.K. taxpayers would fund that /
or private companies

Stop pretending to be fooking dumb, it's not a real rail network...
By:

See the benefits of being part of the U.K. ?
NI might struggle to fund a new rail network - or existing one -
on their own with such a small population

I wonder if our Irish friends would be as keen if they realised what the cost would be, not to mention a century of "unrest". Good luck with that.

I think the political class here has been silently divesting the UK of NI since Bliar thought the Belfast agreement was a good idea. It's nearly done apart from the posturing and the denials.
Enjoy.

You may have a point Foin re NI being 'dumped' by the UK,i thought the same myself at times, how can you now have 1 part of the UK in the EU?

It would be like a puppy getting an almighty funt up the hole for the loyalists though, unrequited love and all that.
