New polling tonight shows public favour Sunak more. However, it's not the public who will decide our next PM, it's the racist, white elderly Conservative membership.

True Donny. The problem I have is that choosing our next PM is being chosen by an organisation that isn't independent.

Who knows who will receive a ballot paper or indeed, if it will be counted, depending on which candidate has been selected.

Indeed, we don't get told how many can vote.

They can ferrari in as many as they need

I recall a Scottish tory MP being asked in the last couple of days how many Conservative members there were in Scotland and he refused to say.

Three years ago the tory membership was approximately 70K. In May 2021 it had risen to 200K. This was mainly because of a huge number of extreme right wing groups such as Britain First joining in order to influence leadership elections and policy decisions.

Probably more tax avoidance.

I was reading they get 2 votes.

An initial vote, and an over ride vote incase they
change mind, and 2nd vote cancels first vote. Don't need
to use 2nd vote.

Care home manager/ husband/ uncle Bob... keeps 2nd votes and block votes
for whoever they want... Lovely jubbly

Mr Sunak is trying to portray himself as the messiah of the UK, and his Party eg best candidate to beat Labour; control immigration; architect of a strong economy; re-incarnation of Thatcherism.

But, he's none of these. He does not even understand the ramification of the present cost of living.

Meanwhile Nadine Dorries hit out at Rishi Sunak's pricey suit but she has £6,000 diamond earrings.

Some right whinger will be along shortly to
tell us the tories are jealous of Sunak's cash.

The market is somewhat clueless sometimes.

I remember after the confidence vote in Boris a few weeks ago, Starmer was fav for next PM. LaughCrazy

Cretins must've thought a GE was taking place.

I think I can explain that for you.

There is a grass-roots Tory movement to either a) refuse BJ resignation, or b) allow BJ onto the ballot paper for next Tory leader. Should either of those happen, then BJ could be PM until the next election, and then KS could realistically be the next PM after BJ.

For clarity, I don't think that there is any chance of this happening, I'm just explaining the odds movement.

I think that I can explain that one as well.

There were rumours that if BJ was pushed out he would immediately call a GE. No chance that this could happen, but some people believed it. If you believed this impossible scenario, then backing KS as next PM would make some sense.

Sunak cornering the 'frozen orange juice market'.... by infiltrating the tory membership with his £25 cronies, but with strict instructions to lie to the pollsters so not to panic the old guard who think the have the all power.

What a Coup!

A former Brexit Party MEP has been recruited to co-ordinate Liz Truss’s grassroots campaign, which tells you everything you need to know about the current membership of the Conservative Party

The ex-MEP is Lucy Harris, for those asking.

Farage bragged back in 2019 that Arron Banks had recruited 40k new members to the Tories (membership before the 2019 leadership election was ~120k)

Assuming the market is a true reflection of the Conservative membership's voting intention and Liz Truss' odds continue to contract, how likely do you think it is that Sunak will concede before September?
