Not sure where your problem is.
The article was about part time workers and shift workers without fixed hours contracts, and their loss of holiday pay entitlement that they would have under EU rules. A worker is surely somebody who engages in work for money for purposes of the article. |

. Some people are in genuine need and the biggest problem is cost of housing which is absurd but for every one who can't afford food, there are 10 on the cadge.
Very true Sageform. There is a notice in my local Iceland saying that school meals vouchers can not be exchanged for alcohol. The reason some kids go hungry is because of bad parenting but the taxpayer is expected to hand out ever more to these people. |

By:
Not sure that's eu related, to be fair, but
a nice tangent for strugglin brexitears. |

source please for the claim that 'for every one who can't afford food, there are 10 on the cadge.' - tia

Not everything on this thread is Brexit related, most threads seem to go off at a tangent from time to time. Being out of the EU is good, we should never go back into the evil Reich.

Yootoob nick, "please give generously" sayed 10 to 1

The defamation as Reich simply because the Brits didn't have the complete control that they would have liked always makes me sad.

*control over the EU and its members

We Germans didn't go and call it British Empire Mk.II just because we wanted to pout about the Brits always getting their will on protecting their carefeully erected web of tax havens that cost Germany lots and lots of money.

They are brought up on war films edy, so it's bonding language.
Some of them have busted them dams a dozen times, reached for the sky and escaped from stalags all over Germany with greater ease than Harry houdini. |

Lots of patriotic education in the UK as well, isn't there? That the British Empire is, or used to be taught, as something good, admirable. The British bringing civilisation to the world instead of them running an evil Reich in reality at the end of the day.

It's what the little Austrian would have wanted, edy, you might want to look up his plans. It is not calumny although the admin centre would not have been in Brussels.
|
|
By:
The Austrian wanted his place in the sun
like us brits. His war ended our empire, but not around to pick up pieces. |
|
By:
He wasn't around to be the first President, the Red Army put paid to that.
|
|
By:
The pieces of our Empire were picked up by the Americans, They resuscitated West Germany instead of executing the administrators and industrialists as Stalin would have done as they wanted to build a bulwark against the Soviets.
|
|
By:
Good plan imo.
Though, completely unknown to Daniel Kawczynski or misportrayed in bad faith, the UK got a lot more money in the Marshall Plan than West Germany did of course. |
|
By:
Yes, we know what the Labour government did with the money, laudable in a way but did nothing to rebuild industry. I remember food rationing in the fifties, I remember the steam railway still operating in the 1960s I doubt that was the case in West Germany. As it turned out it wasn't long before the government was going cap in hand again to the Americans for more money which was refused. The UK was bankrupted by the war yet had to repay the Americans for all the armaments sent over to us. Did they do the same for the Soviets? Will they ask the Ukrainians to pay back the billions being sent now? Will Germany, will we? The Americans wanted to bury us so they could step into our shoes and they did.

Germans could have produced much better punk and rock bands than the mentioned ones if they had wanted to, but they simply like a good synthesizer sound. That's the reason why Hansjörg Morodor became a thing while in Germany and also why German Schlagermusik always uses the same keyboard sample sound in a seemingly endless loop for their entire background music/beat.
