In the 2018 election there were 230k absentee ballots in Georgia with a rejection rate of 3.5%.
In the 2020 election there were 1.2m absentee ballots in Georgia with a rejection rate of 0.3%. 3.2% of 1.2m is 38,400. If the Georgia audit were doing full monitored signature review of all absentee ballots, the current gap of c 14k would probably be surmounted. The audit, as it stands, looks like it's not being conducted on that basis. Trump will fail on the current audit unless he manages to get it paused and reconstituted on a different basis. |

Explain why you lied to the forum about wording in betfair's rules, FXDUD?
By:
By:
Wow. I did not lie in any way, shape or form. My posts are there for anyone to read and draw their conclusion.
Your tactic now is just to throw mud and accuse me of lying and whatever other baseless, ugly drivel you can invent from thin air. |
By:
Lol, FXDUX thinks they only chuck out Democrat Party votes. I have heard it all now

By:
You claimed the wording "received majority" exists in betfairs rules. It doesn't. Why did you do that?

By:
dave1357, sergeant cecil, politicspunter and you-have-to-laugh,
Anyone reading the thread is free to draw their own conclusion as to who is dishonest and thick and who isn't. It, sincerely, hasn't been a pleasure, but it, sincerely, once again, Will. |

FXDUX is best ignored - it's obvious what his game is

Trying to be the thickest poster on here?

Caught out lying to the forum, runs away.
Could you possibly be a man of your word and not come back this time? |
By:
I didn't claim the wording "received majority" exists in Betfair's rules. I used the words received majority as shorthand for referencing the words "receives a majority".
You are either a total moron or trolling. It doesn't really matter to me which one it is. |
By:
I guarantee I'm going to come back, Dave.
You have assured yourself of it. |
By:
The next stage is point two. The "received majority". Which is the wording a bit further along in Betfair's rules.
Seriously? - what an utter clown. |

Is there anyone who hasn't acknowledged Biden has won by now, apart from right-wing nutters and Betfair? |
By:
Making up his own market rules as he goes along, goes off on totally irrelevant ludicrous long tangents, thinks recounts/audits are only to chuck out Democrat votes, deliberately misquotes Betfair rules to suit his agenda... yep FXDUX is a nuisance of the highest order.

By:
On a serious note, we're a week on and about 1000 posts into this thread now and we aren't any closer to knowing what is required for Betfair to settle this market. Hundreds of millions of pounds tied up in the market and people very likely backing selections that can't win, and not a single word from Betfair as to what happens next. What a farce.
By:
they obv aren't going to pay until the results are certified, so a week plus it looks like.
By:
Totally, but that's hardly the point. If that's the case, they should have said that. Still, at least that is within sight.
By:
They are paying out, as long as Trump wins.
By:
They have paid out on plenty of states that haven't certified yet. BF have run the whole US election markets terribly.
By:
It has become a lottery over whether you get paid or not.
By:
By:
There will hopefully come a point where Betfair will realise that people have so much money tied up in these unsettled markets that they are unable to trade on Betfair and therefore deprive Betfair of their commission?

On a serious note, we're a week on and about 1000 posts into this thread now and we aren't any closer to knowing what is required for Betfair to settle this market. Hundreds of millions of pounds tied up in the market and people very likely backing selections that can't win, and not a single word from Betfair as to what happens next. What a farce. My post of 16:13 answers, precisely, what Betfair will require. If you're too busy being bedazzled by dave1357's deliberately bad faith, baseless and idiotic categorization of me as a liar for using the words "received majority" in that post to refer to the words "receives a majority", then in the dark you'll have to remain. That is the best dave1357 could do, in terms of critiquing my post of 16:13. Calling me a liar for using the words "received majority" as a way of referring to "receives a majority." It's hard to imagine anything more pathetic. Check it out. You'll see what I said at 16:13. It explains exactly what Betfair will require and it uses the words "received majority" as a way of alluding to the words "receives a majority". According to dave1357, my using the words "received majority" instead of "receives a majority" makes me a liar who is trying to mislead the forum. You may think, dave1357, that you can avoid receiving a majority of your own by libelling people absurdly over the internet. As I said before, that's your very own 999-1 bet. I'll let you know when I'm willing to settle. |

President-elect Joseph R. Biden Jr. defeated President Trump in Georgia and Mr. Trump eked out a victory in North Carolina as the two states were called on Friday, drawing to a close the election results after a week and a half.
Mr. Biden now has 306 electoral votes and Mr. Trump has 232. Mr. Biden became president-elect when he won Pennsylvania’s 20 electoral votes on Saturday, passing the required 270-vote threshold. The victory for Mr. Biden in Georgia — a once reliably Republican state whose politics have been pushed to the left — means he flipped five states that Mr. Trump won in 2016. Mr. Trump did not flip any states this year. Mr. Biden’s late surge in Georgia, thanks to his dominance in Atlanta, Savannah and the increasingly Democrat-friendly suburbs around both, transformed what had seemed to be a safe Trump state in early tabulations last week into one of the closest contests in the nation. Mr. Trump spurred near-record turnout in the rural southwestern parts of the state bordering Alabama and the Florida Panhandle, the white outer suburbs and small cities, and the Appalachian northwest which touches deep-red Tennessee. Mr. Biden was powered by high turnout among Black voters in Atlanta, and flipped some suburban white voters in the moderate suburban counties that ring the city. In North Carolina, Black voters shattered early voting records in the weeks leading up to the election. But despite a significant, late get-out-the-vote push by Democrats to motivate Black and Latino voters, Mr. Trump — who visited North Carolina a half-dozen times in recent weeks — was more effective in motivating his base of white working-class and rural voters. Mr. Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in North Carolina in 2016 by fewer than four percentage points, but the state has been reliably red for decades: Since 1976, the only Democrat to prevail has been Barack Obama, who narrowly won in 2008. Flipping Georgia, a state last won by a Democrat in 1992, was dramatic, but it was years in the making: Mr. Trump defeated Hillary Clinton in the state in 2016 by five percentage points, a far slimmer margin than Republicans enjoyed in previous presidential elections. Georgia’s vote count is currently the subject of an audit, though state officials have said that the results are unlikely to change. Mr. Biden leads Mr. Trump in the state by more than 14,000 votes. |

Check it out. You'll see what I said at 16:13. It explains exactly what Betfair will require and it uses the words "received majority" as a way of alluding to the words "receives a majority". According to dave1357, my using the words "received majority" instead of "" makes me a liar who is trying to mislead the forum.
You may think, dave1357, that you can avoid receiving a majority of your own by libelling people absurdly over the internet. As I said before, that's your very own 999-1 bet. I'll let you know when I'm willing to settle. As you know veritas is a defence to libel. What you said The next stage is point two. The "received majority". Which is the wording a bit further along in Betfair's rules. By the time we get to 8-14 December, we won't be dealing in projected majorities anymore, . That is, is someone actually going to receive 270 votes in the meeting of the electors on 14 December? The "received majority". Which is the wording a bit further along in Betfair's rules. The words don't appear in betfair's rules. You then claim that what you meant was "receives a majority". So let's see how that stacks up in the paragraph: By the time we get to 8-14 December, we won't be dealing in projected majorities anymore, we'll be looking at the prospect of received majorities. The relevant betfair sentence is: In the event no Presidential candidate receives a majority of the projected electoral college votes So we are indeed still talking about projected EC votes and your entire "explanation" is predicated on your definition of "received majorities" we'll be looking at the prospect of received majorities. It is completely astonishing that you are claiming that, as a legal professional, you are not aware of the incongruity between betfair's sentence and your paragraph. |

I could see some sense in backing Pence as FXDUX said but it was far to technical for me to reach any kind of a conclusion. The main reason for, me, not backing him is that there are a fair few bridges to be crossed before he becomes a runner. If you back him now at 999/1 how much do you back him for? You're not going to put much more than, say, £10 on. If "something" happens and odds go down to what you consider a reasonable bet then it doesn't cost much more to back him at the shorter odds.
By:
To argue with you, dave1357, would be like arguing with an ant.

It's definitely too late from that perspective.
