Meadow,
Are you serious? Have you not heard Corbyn talk about Brexit? He stated he wants us to stay in the Single Market and immigration is not too high. There is a very real danger that the Libdems, SNP, Labour and some Tories who believe in the Single market could frustrate the process now that parliment has to vote on the deal. This is a big opportunity for voters in northern england to send a message to Labour MPs who have seats in the north. Do not slow down or hamper the immigration issue or you will not be voted for at the next GE. |
By:
You are still falling in to the trap of believing that Brexit is the be all and end all for this by election. It is not and this will be reflected in the UKIP voting figures.
By:
What makes you think that?
What percentage chance do you think Labour have of winning? |
By:
I think Labour's correct price should be no higher than 1/2.
By:
well the councillors labour have out on the short list are all remainers.
the last national poll has them on 26% and cons 42%.http://ukpollingreport.co.uk/ this matters as it shows an overall collapse in the whole labour vote. there may well be local issues, maybe brexit will not be that important to a lot. the reality is we just don't know and won't know until next month. i think they will definitely lose copeland and things could go real close in stoke, especially if we some tactical voting. labour are finished as a possible party of government whichever way you look at it. |
By:
Thats a big call. Who do you think the candidate will be?
By:
stories like this don't help neither
http://www.lep.co.uk/news/regional/john-mcdonnell-denies-labour-is-preparing-to-lose-crunch-by-elections-1-8347099 already having to bat away suggestions they are prepared for defeat. when in opposition ffs ![]() |
By:
I agree Labour are finished in the short to medium term as a party of government. It is currently something like 42-26 nationally in the Conservatives favour but are the Conservatives in contention here? You could argue that in this seat, if you apply national opinion polls it is 26 Lab-13 UKIP. Hmm, maybe odds of 1/2 Labour is about right !
Don't you be so sure about Copeland. Personally, I think Labour will hold on there. There is no doubt that tactical voting will be in play in both seats. |

'Sensible' is the key word. Its is a leftwing trendy that believes in immigration and open borders there could be problems.
The lies about the NHS under UKIP that labour are promoting is exactly the reason alot are fed up with the mainstream parties. |

Well, Paul Nuttall is on record.....
“I would like to congratulate the coalition government for bringing a whiff of privatisation into the beleaguered National Health Service. The fact that successive governments have undertaken what they call ‘substantial’ changes to the NHS should tell us all we need to know: there is something fundamentally wrong “The NHS is the second biggest employer in the world, beaten only by Walmart, but as with all state monopolies it is costly, inefficient and stuffed with bureaucrats. In New Labour’s NHS, for every nurse there is a manager and vital workers, such as midwives, are falling in numbers. “The problem, however, goes far deeper. I would argue that the very existence of the NHS stifles competition, and as competition drives quality and choice, innovation and improvements are restricted. “Therefore, I believe, as long as the NHS is the ‘sacred cow’ of British politics, the longer the British people will suffer with a second rate health service.” Paul Nuttall website, July 14, 2010 - since deleted "A monolithic hangover from days gone by" “I believe that the NHS is a monolithic hangover from days gone by and unfortunately we're becoming - or fortunately shall we say - we're becoming an older population. And quite frankly I would like to see more free market introduced into the health service. Because this is the way we have to go in the long term. “Listen, let's face reality here: this where it has to go; we're an ageing population.” Paul Nuttall, Oldham and Saddleworth by-election hustings, 2011 |

By:
anxious, the good people of stoke will vote for Nuttall, precisely because they are good people and they reject your witless dogma out of hand.

We shall see

Meadow,
Dragging out 7 year old quotes is exactly what people are rebelling against. Is it UKIP policy? Is it what he is going to do now? The answer is no. Tony Blair believed in ending nuclear weapons yet he was happy to keep them a few years later and start wars. Views can change over time. If idiot media and politicial parties continue down this route of dragging up old inaccurate information the public will quickly get bored of their lies. |
By:
I was simply posting a couple of the candidates recorded quotes. Please feel free to post any more recent ones.

UKIP is now the party of the working class.
They stand for the British worker. UKIP have realised the NHS is a source of pride to the British hence the change. The only change they will make to the NHS is a putting a stop to the nonsense of health tourism. |
By:
From years ago talking about the buying of drugs. Totally irrelevant however much the Mirror and the like of Piers Morgan try cut it up.
It is this kind of media manipulation that encouraged people to be bold and vote in Trump and for Brexit. UKIP favourites for Stoke now. |
By:
Indeed funny how you should mention the media IT seeing that all the tory press and the Murdoch garbage now side with Ukip , people will soon realise that these imposters offer no answer to Britain's problems apart from blaming foriegners or the EU.
By:
Labour's answer for the forgotten people is more immigration and wage destruction.
By:
Ukip and the tories are the same thing people will realise that eventually
By:
The Tories have not cut or got control immigration. Wages are still falling/stagnant as a result. They are not the same thing.
By:
Insider,
Right enough, UKIP now odds on. I think this price is crazy and it will cost me if wrong! |

Labour have announced Remainer Garath Snell as their candidate in Stoke! Has Corbynski gone completely and utterly gaga? Don't answer that
![]() |
By:
and what did he tweet about brexit?
Gareth Snell, a Newcastle borough councillor for Silverdale and Parkside, tweeted a four line poem condemning Britain’s vote to leave the EU - despite being selected by Labour to stand for election in a constituency where almost 70 per cent of voters opted for Brexit. The poem, which he tweeted in September, said: “Soft Brexit, Hard Brexit Massive pile of S*** Sloppy Brexit, Messy Brexit Quit, Quit, Quit.” http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/758995/stoke-by-election-gareth-snell-labour-twitter-brexit-capital-paul-nuttall-ukip-poem oh dear. he called 70% of the voters sh*t. ![]() |

i think come the end of next month jeremy might have to quit quit quit coz as a leader he is sh1t sh1t sh1t.

By:
More signs that Corbyn is an infiltrator, an agent who's primary role is to destroy the Labour Party but create enough membership to make it look like they have a future.
By:
Ah the Daily Express, is it still going? Burt, that poll you were on about up thread was also from the Daily Express wasn't it? How many people did it involve, what questions were asked and what was the percentage breakdown of party voting intentions?
By:
Doesnt 'quit, quit, quit' mean quit the EU. i.e. he supports Brexit?
By:
no. he means quit the process.do not invoke article 50. quit leaving the EUSSR.
it looks like political suicide on the face of it. we will soon see. less than 200 in that poll. not a large sample at all. i know that. it seems, but it's not clear they were all labour leave voters. it's the only poll out there at the moment. clearly more are needed. but this combined with the general national collapse of the labour vote and the fact that once again they choose a remainiac does not bode well for them. |
By:
Its 2.42 for Labour now.
By:
Snell also called Corbyn an IRA supporting friend of Hamas.
A very strange candidacy selection, even by Labour's standards. |
By:
I've backed Labour now for a nice green book.
I can't believe how lucky we were with the Con and LD prices. |
By:
My book is black and says "last rites" on it for me if Labour don't win here.
By:
I missed most of the easy money on UKIP, but most of my book comes from laying Con.
By:
I hope people support that young Tory candidate who has been treated like a lamb to the slaughter. Might just go down and canvass for him myself!(will leave the snp rosette at home though).
What's that missus? You're considering voting for the baldy right wing waterboarding torture supporter? I think that nice young man from the Conservative party will make a grand constituency mp. |
By:
Well that was easy. Flew down to Stoke, knocked on some doors and hey presto the price for a Conservative win on here drops from 100 to 26.
Knock knock..door opens. Polling repair man! Thank goodness you're here, I nearly voted for that eejit from UKIP. No problem madam, you know he will sail off like a ferry across the Mersey once the ballot boxes are collected. Just remember to vote for that dashing young local Conservative fella. Thank you Polling repair man! Meadow's money now safe. |

Cope land and Stoke I've backed Labour in both hoping I do my dough..........another nail in Corbyn's coffin

Nuttall dressed in his tweeds to attract white working class voters in Stoke. All that's missing is the labradors, butler and shotgun to shoot any stray peasants that pass by. |
