It was the w/o market i meant Catchme.
Bit of a damp squib watching this evening though,he was never threatened,he didn't make any real mistakes and immediate challengers Rose and Phil didn't do anything special. |

Have seen most of Angelas Ashes before . There was some outrage at the book when it first came out , twas not fashionable to point out the defects in Irish society and the conditions in which some tried to earn a living and bring up a family .
Some Limerick people I knew and respected told me often that inner city Limerick in that era was exactly as portrayed in the book . Just saw a scene where some "official " was writing out a docket to give to the childrens mother , presumably a line of credit for groceries or the like . Reminded me of my visits to underpriveleged parts of Belfast when I was a S V de P member at uni . The biggest problem most families had was associated with birth control - not allowed --. Feeding , clothing and educating an ever expanding family was a bridge too far for a lot then . The Masters was low key tonight , little excitement , very little button pushing here . Spieght is a very good addition to the ranks of good young players out there , it will be interesting to see if he can build on this first Major . Reckon he will . Rory was not firing on all cylinders , and finished 4th . Overall a good Major , nothing flukey about anyones performance in the top echelon . But Augusta was not like it has been normally , could have been viewed as set up for Rory , but he didn't deliver until today where he looked good . |

Had to switch off. Two years in a row it's been boring as hell.

Have to agree with Pre Fat, Bubba won on the bridle last year, and Jordan never came close to slap of the whip this year. It was as good as over after two holes on Friday.
The kid is a class act. I have long been a fan, and though I wasn't on this week, I'm delighted he done the business. He will win a bucket load of them. He has and always has had a winners attitude. Rory may have more natural talent, but he will never have that killer will to win. You cant buy it. Tiger had it. Jordan has it. |

One of the best aspects of Speights rise to the top is that he looks likely to be a "world" golfer , rather than an insular no passport type we have seen a fair bit of in the past across that big stretch of water .
Also delighted to see some of the "auld enemy" players finishing well up the order . Rose has flown the flag well for them over last few years , Casey was up to No 3 in the world a few years ago and it is good to see him back competing . Its good for the game in these isles if there is the prospect of "domestic" competition , might spur Rory on too . Apart from 3 cylinder Rory our lads were a bit disappointing . Thought Shane would figure better , did not expect Gmac to though , he is way out of form , and his game is not as good as it used to be . Hopefully all our lads will get their batteries recharged for Newcastle in 6 weeks time . |

Thoroughly enjoyed the tournament - it helps if you are on the winner
- but what a class act this guy is.In a power age, he appears to carress the ball around the course with calm assurance, you never feel like he is forcing things. America has found a new accessible, likeable hero with boy next door charm. And extraordinary talent. |

Kid seems a real gent. Him battling it out with strong antagonists like Woods and Rory can give a great extra narrative to the majors. His playing style and reserved personality distinguish him from the other two.
And then there's “I'm Patrick Reed, and I'll kick the **** out of you at golf any time you want,” Interesting times for a casual like myself |
|
By:
Reed coming over for the Irish Open at end of May in Newcastle . The more the merrier !
|
|
By:
I'd love to go on the beer with him lol
|
|

THERE must be some irish blood in him with a name like Reed.

Patrick might be the real clue Frank.
