What is the planned races for their novice hurdlers, road to riches, rule the world and bright new dawn specifically?
|
|
By:
Sir Des Champs jumps poorly in Ireland but come Festival he really is in a different league.
He will win the Gold Cup and looks a track specialist. Azorian was very good and was much needed boost to the wallet. Speed Demon hacked up in his point and Bright New Dawn performed very well again. |

Another nice win in a bumper for Band of Blood and winnings are well on there way to being smashed again this season.
In saying all that, i still can't understand the failure to root out the poor horses and give more of the better ones to Mouse Morris. Savello the dog also won recently but that 250k they paid for him is as bad as return on any horse in a long time. Un Atout going into the Supreme Novices after 2 runs....bizarre, he is so good he could still win but...Road to Riches?? the opposite side of the scale but havent seen him in ages. Noel Meade ever talk about Sword of Destiny any more? More updates are needed! |

Does anyone know what he does with his horses. His rate of attrition of horses is staggering!

Busy week with lots of entries

Road to Riches looks on course for the Albert Bartlett, think he could be tailor made for this race.

I will confidently predict that First Lieutenant is Gigginstowns best chance of a win at the Cheltenham Festival. I am very confident about his chance. I can't see him out of the first 3. He is trained by a a trainer who I believe is very under rated and who knows the time of day when it comes to Cheltenham. First Lieutenant is more mature this year and settles much better and I think the strong pace of the Gold Cup will play into his hands.Russell is a fool if he doesnt ride him. Willie Mullins cant train Gold Cup horses, yes he is an above average trainer with his bumper horses, novice hurdlers and mares but he can't train Gold Cup horses. Sir Des Champs run in the Hennessy was inconclusive. First Lieutenant has just two horses to beat, Bobs Worth and Long Run. He has 2 and a half lengths to find on last years run in the RSA with Bobs Worth which I think he will find but the bigger danger may be Long Run who is a class act provided his amateur jockey performs well on the day.

Good to see that Giggs have retained BJ as their second jockey to Russell (as in the 4.20 today).
Glad he keeps the ride on FL too in Chelt. workrider 16 Jan 13 18:14 I think Mouse Morris will have him primed for the Gold Cup (FL)....a very good judge I go racing with a lot...thinks it's great e/w value. Presume you will have a chat about First L. at Navan today......we await his thoughts ![]() |
|
By:
FL didn't see out 3m as well as Bobs worth last year,so can't see how 3m 2f will play to his strengths.Fl will hopefully run in the Ryanair.
|
|
By:
Have a look at last years RSA on YouTube and you will see FL didn't settle for at least 2 miles, he was given too much daylight . He is a better and more mature horse this year who settles well. You may be right, he just might find the trip a little too far but I prefer the 16/1 you can get on First Lieutenant than the skinny prices of Bobs Worth and Sir DES Champs. Don't forget First Lieutenant bet Rock on Ruby at the Cheltenham Festival and if he settles I can see him going to the last on the bridal.
|
|
By:
He didn't thoroughly stay in the lexus this year either,Flemenstar and FL stopped more than SDC and Tidal Bay Quickened.Price is no good if he runs in the Ryanair which I think he will.
|
|
By:
Mouse is no fool,He'll have him 100% Ripe for one race and one race only this season,i'll let you have a guess which race that will be.

I think Mouse Morris will have him primed for the Gold Cup (FL)....a very good judge I go racing with a lot...thinks it's great e/w value. Your buddy MM.... The oldest horse in the line-up, Rathlin bagged his first success for nearly a year when landing the Munster Hurdle at Clonmel as a 16/1 shot for Mouse Morris and Bryan Cooper. Gigginstown House Stud's (OTHER ?) retained jockey, Davy Russell rode their other contender Rye Martini, and he was already struggling when his chance ended with a mistake at the second last. Winning trainer Mouse Morris said: "That was good. He lost his way and that's why we decided to go back over hurdles with him..... "It looks like he's more of a spring/summer horse now. He'll go back over fences but he's not an easy horse to place being rated in the 140s." "At least the horses are in good form at the right time of the year." FL for the CUP ! |

you make me out to be something i'm not catch me...my uncle and his father knew one another though ....
|
|
By:
Only kiddin' BUT next time your down by the last fence ask him about FL and young Cooper ?
|
|
By:
will do ....
|

By:
maybe naas sunday...

By:
MM won't be there.
I see he has Born In Fire in F/hse on Wed though ![]() |
|
By:
I know Mouse thinks that BC gets on better with Flight Lieutenant than DNR, so don't think DNR would have had pick.
Road To Riches I know is a young horse who took a lot of time to get over his 3 mile slog in Cork back in November. He is a young horse and Meade is not worried if he waits till next season with this one if he still has growing pains in March. |
|
By:
I think Russell is on its way out
In today's race he was always going to pick Rye Martini over Rathlin. |

Ruby,
Might be beneficial to go to LISMORE on Sunday.....first is always a cracker ![]() |
|
By:
Good few weeks for the team. They are 1.15 million gbp in Irish Prize money for the year. Bright New Dawn was a real nice pick at the start of the year and I am sure Hughes will make him into a fine chaser next year.
They are plenty entered up this weekend, Toostrong should go very close tomorrow IMO. Nice entries on Sunday in Foxrock also. That is a hell of a point in Lismore on Sunday. The Potts horse cost 250k Elliott is getting some amount of pointers. Wrath of Titans another cool 150k. |
|
By:
Terrible effort by Toostrong and again Mullins Stable continues to baffle me!
|

By:
Looks like Giggy found a proper horse in Akorador in that Hot point to point. Won by 12l on the snaff

ANY cross-channel trainers there ?

No idea just saw the result.
Finally Savello does something!! |

Chelt,
hth simply perfect 09 Mar 13 01:19 Speaking of the twitter machine seem to be some rumours about a certain cork jockey regularly seen sporting maroon colours doing the rounds... dj876 09 Mar 13 01:21 Simply perfect Care to elaborate or is it just about their relationship coming to an end?? simply perfect 09 Mar 13 01:24 I presume it's ok to copy and paste tweets and not get into trouble if it turns out not to be true? dj876 09 Mar 13 01:27 Ah I don't know, it depends probably better off to paraphrase cutely. |

With all their horses and all their trainers they couldn't get one horse ready for the RYANAIR CHASE, instead they rerouted First Lieutenant, a horse that has been aimed at the Gold Cup all year. Why Why Why? Is Michael O Leary's ego getting the better of him or does he really think he can win both the Ryanair and Gold Cup. Is it a publicity stunt in the hope that he can win his own race and have his mug all over the paper? Whatever the reason it is not in the best interest of the horse or the trainer to run First Lieutenant in the Ryanair. I am furious as I am sure Mouse Morris is. He may be a good businessman but he is a dunce when it comes to horses. Firthermore Sir Des Champ has little chance of being placed, the way he jumps I can see him on the floor.
