Brandy I don’t doubt he has a kick, but he’s been caught twice when tracked, this might not be the course to do that on, Ascot and Sandown both tougher 10f where he’s faced defeat.

Can you two leave the thread for those with an interest in the race please?

Tough call. I will go Constitution river but not with too much confidence. You won't get a selection out of the 2 freaks on here ( frico and bubbles). Only they know why they won't.

strange isnt it? ive won millions (certifiable) whilst dickster/dellawoffler/tobyliararymug have won combined absolutley fck hall...ewe cud not mek it up.

“I suppose it’s his power and his scope, the way he stays and quickens – he was always a very unusual horse." I wonder what that means? After the French Derby win AoB went thru a long list of people who'd 'worked very hard with the horse', does he always do that?
Anyways, I'm a fan of Con River, fingers xd for a good race.

as dixon said yesterday OMBUDSMEN runs his race, CR will needto be one of the best 4,5 horses of last 20 yrs to eat him and AOB has told us he,s had about 20 pegasuses in those 20 yrs

Lucky Life thanks for that quote, it’s why I compared his style to Calandagan, his last two runs haven’t impressed me nor has the form.
His best run of the year was at Chester, today might be the day going left handed flat track that we see him in the light that he’s been spoken of.

Good luck if you’re having a bet!

rico's thoughts.

ombudsman..top class..lofty OR..track/trip/ground fine..absolutely no negatives...
cons river..classy..still improving..trip/ground fine no track form...
item..classy..still improving..track/trip/ground fine..no negatives

ombudsman the horse to beat OR 8lb higher but cons getting 7lb so levels them up..been there done the lot never runs a bad race..cons hill still lightly raced and looks to be still improving..item still lightly raced and looks to be still improving but today facing top opposition.
looks between the top 2 imo ..facinating race but not for betting..
ombudsman 1.18 1st 3 looks rock solid but its horse racing so we nah the dance.

Slick's thoughts..
Well frico certainly "knows the dance". 1.06 "certs" stuffed with alarming regularity. He's an embarrassment at this stage. He now claims 1.18 ombudsman 1st 3 is rock solid. Well I say its not. Due a bad run. 5 years of age. A good chance he could bomb out here. The way the race will be run tells me that. Constitution river wins this race. All day long.

At least we now Know Delashay thinks Constitution will be worn down by Ombudsman so at least one runner he can't aftertime when CR wins!!

I can see both Constitution River & Ombudsman fighting out the finish. Both have a turn of foot

Ombudsman slight preferance. Difficult for punters to choose between the 2

I've given frico some great advice over a cupla years. Telling him NOT to back at least 3 maybe 4 1.06's. Slick right EVERY time. Ain't that right frico. You know it is. Jump on board the good ship slick. Never too late.

As for the race I think the Constitution has a run style a little like Calandagan, if he can keep tabs when Ombudsman goes then he might be worn down.

- - - - -

Is there any real confusion here? Crazy That you get the wrong end of the stick each time is a talent!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptw3pqBjthw

Who was worn down (outstayed) in last years Champion? I watch Calandagan and I see similarities with Constitution, no instant burst but a long sustained acceleration.

My only slight worry for Constitution River at 2.74 is hes never been to the track. We know the rest handle it. Im thinking 2.74 is too short now.

If you dont handle York you dont, so we are all guessing

Here’s the view from the AGA team for those who might be interested,

Zaydann, who, admittedly, has never yet faced such an opposition, but who possesses all the qualities required for a first attempt at this level. "His three-year season was interrupted because he had suffered a setback," explains Nemone Routh, manager of the Aga Khan Studs France. «Then, this year, Francis wanted to release it quite early, but he hadn’t worked well and had indeed tested positive for the virus that was raging in the stable. It’s a horse that isn’t particularly impressive, but does everything you ask of him. Of course, to get close to the two favourites, he needs to improve a lot, so we’ll already be happy with third place. But at some point in a horse’s career, you have to know where you stand. He is very well born and one must know if he can compete with such opposition.”

I see Item backed in before the off (track form) Plus Ombudsman shorten and Constitution River drift. Thats how I see the market.

Trident AOB voiced concerns going into the Jockey Club as it was his first time going right handed. Wouldn’t be concerned about the track for him today.

By David Carr, at York
I have been out on the track and my shoes got wet but do not panic. The ground is certainly no softer than good - we have just had a drought, after all. But there is more rain forecast for later.

Good luck!

What on Earth is wrong with leaving it GTF in the height of Summer.
