people can skirt around it,excuse it,they,ll get away with it,but the certain facts are
in a small field where the fav was on the downgrade and running over a mile short of his best, someone was willing to lay a 13/8 shot who on recent form had equal chance at 10 ,s, only people/connevtions close to the horse who new it wasnt winning would even entertain it |

“ Imagine jailing someone for falling off a horse”
Well a Rotherham “rioter” was jailed for shouting at a police dog. |
|

The burden of proof is less with the racing authority than the law courts. The latter would never try to prove that a jockey fell off of a horse on purpose. The trainer and jockey could get suspensions but no way they will ever appear before a court of law.

someone on an AK X thread last night said
anyone who wants to no bookies, pundits, msm etc no that the vast maj of these byrnes stings.gambles, lays are orchestrated by one man from a sunbed in dubia who owns the biggest % in the vast maj of the horses involved maybe some of our irish friends on here have heard same story, rumour,s etc |

I think the IHRB has been very inadequate and unprofessional in dealing with injudicious and downright dodgy rides of jockeys in Ireland. This latest one by the jockey Mr Byrne, and that of Mr Geraghty on Noble Emperor for Mr McManus were blatantly unprofessional, indefensible and downright offensive to punters.
The IHRB needs to be publicly scrutinised and brought to account for their lack of duty in policing horseracing in Ireland; high profiled owners and high profiled stables seem to intimate the IHRB. |
|
By:
Impossible
It is Impossible because ireland is one of the most corrupt countries in the world, from it's politicians, press/media, HSE (health body), councils, planning authorities, etc etc,so good luck with the IHRB. |
|
By:
Couple of points, the 'injury' stuff talked about is just plain rubbish as an argument - jockeys far more likely to be injured in an unexpected fall, so if deliberate it would be very very safe to do in comparison to normal jumping. They will do similar many many times when not racing, just to practice it.
The discussion on punishments/jailing etc - yes, it is never going to happen just for jumping off a horse. But that is not the point - cases of b'nt horse racing/riding only ever lead to that sort of thing with further investigations - and of course, needing to be of a financial type of information found somewhere. But, that has happened before, and can happen, and most certainly should at least be looked into here. |
|

Horseracing in Ireland is very questionable to say the least. There have been so many dodgy incidents - riding and betting examples with big stables and owners where the odds-on hotpots would take a walk into the abyss and 2nd/3rd string bolt in after being gifted a soft lead at the front eg 10/15/20 lengths. Even a penalty imposed by the local stewards would be rescinded eg Mr Geraghty (McManus) 30-day ban on his riding of Noble Emperor at Limerick.
I think the offending jockeys ought to be whipped in public as a punishment. |

is Australian racing better ran than uk/ireland?
I know a guy who bets on Australian racing full time,no other source of income, he claims the form is way easier and more reliable, and he lives in UK. |
|
By:
There's no doubt about it, he jumped off deliberately. But every decent jumps jockey has suffered an embarrassing unseat at some stage of their career so a charge of deliberately jumping off could never hold up in a court of law, which is where this would end up if bans were handed out.
The IHRB, for all the flak they get, generally speaking do a good job and I would argue they do their job a hell of a lot better than the BHA do theirs. Impossible123 is a confirmed anti-Irish bigot straight out of Dads Army. G Hall, you need to travel around the world a bit because that comment is just ridiculous and moronic. |

Wheres WORKRIDER ???? I am sure there is a logical explanation for the jockeys Jump Off.!

These 2 - especially daddy - deserve lifetime bans. Its crystal clear he jumped off on purpose. Whilst nearly impossible to prove they are guilty they are guilty. You could solve racing's ills relatively easily. Hand out these deserved life bans and miraculously everybody else becomes squeaky clean or they leave the game as unable to pull any more strokes. This creature makes martin look like a choirboy.

"Whilst nearly impossible to prove they deserve lifetime bans".
What an utterly ridiculous contradiction by dickster |

Having regard to the importance, for the health (including financial
health) of the sport and industry of racing and breeding, of each Horse competing in each Race being seen to have been given a full opportunity of obtaining the best possible place there is an overall obligation on all persons who have any involvement with the running and riding of a Horse in a Race to ensure that the Horse concerned runs on its merits and is also seen, to a reasonable and informed member of the racing public, to have been run on its merits. That's in the IHRB rules, that rule stops short of "proving" it. |
|
By:
Pro riders are on horses as soon as they can walk, particulary the ones that come from racing stock,a soft unseat is no big deal as it's something they grew up with.
On a related point there's no comparison with what happened in Wexford to the Annie Power fall at Cheltenham which I've seen being coupled. |

From one end of the class divide to the other.
Not Skelton’s finest moment at Warwick. Too confident by half. |

In Australia the same books who will not lay a copper coin over here are forced to do so
|
|
By:
not only that but the stewards are extremely active
eg, if a nag that usually goes off in front isnt going to do so, you have to inform the stewards in advance and this is passed on to punters. if you dont, you are fined and banned and if you dead-heat you can be banned if they think you should have won outright aus racing in general is miles better served than we are. ditto the u.s. and france, and hong kong and .. |
|
By:
Making racing straight is important but some of those rules in Aus are way over the top. Horses are not motor bikes. If a horse decides it wants to veer off a straight line or refuses to go past another horse in a close finish, do they fine the horse, the jockey or the trainer? If the whole field starts at a canter and one jockey takes the initiative by taking the lead is he fined if the Stewards were not informed before the race?
|
|
By:
swiftly I can well believe your post. I still prefer Aussie greyhound racing to what we have over here.
|
|
By:
The one thing I noticed from watching the Aussie stuff down the years, and I don't know the stats, but it always appears to me that a far greater proportion of "fancied" horses win their races than we see over here, a lot fewer rags tend to win from what I've noticed down the years.
|
|
By:
Their dog racing is just so professional compared to the stuff we have to tolerate daily, No fallers interfering with race outcomes, no blankets erected at the wrong time to stop dogs (by a handler who’s not realised they’re going round again), no starting traps needing removed after every start, etc;
It takes a while to get your head around their form sheets but is well worth the effort ( I found ). Just the inconvenient timing which gets to you eventually. |

Mate told me that about the fancied horses having a better strike rate a few years ago , how true i've no idea. That's one reason i never look at it as i'm a double digit & outsider backer only so wouldn't be any good for me. Our own crooked low class stuff suits me just fine ![]() |
