Good afternoon Penzance

Completely agree the owner should be able to run there horses where they want but this one and vautour could have been handled much better.

who,d be backing lossie at odds on in mares if the stable have decided it cant even beat the statesman we,be seen this season,
unless yard have decided they cant win champion with either so just enhancing their chances of winning the mares in which case it doesn't really matter if lossie doesn't turn up in CH HURD

Poor old state man

Won a county hurdle and a champion hurdle ,never out of the first 3 in 18 runs and has won 10 grade ones in Ireland and nobody has a good thing to say about him .

To be fair lead on he got a tremendous reception at leopardstown last month ,but all these pundits on the preview nights and on forums just disrespect him.

He'll end up going off at some price for a reigning champion..mentioning previews and podcasts I don't think I've ever seen so many getting rushed out at this stage..for the first day maybe fair enough but they're putting ones out for the 4 days...there was one yesterday which didn't have Johnny Dineen!

What makes me giggle is that Jennings has a little laugh at Dineen for being on a few panels but Jennings seems to be hosting all of themGrin

Not sure they will do you any good but some of them in parts are enjoyable I do enjoy up the ante as a programme wouldn’t even bother me if Cheltenham never got a mention.

The episode a few back where Dineen was going on about superstitions was hilarious, the guy that he thought was a jinx and then he appears stood behind and touches his mate on the shoulder...had to get an exorcismLaugh

Lossie at a shade odds-on is a good back; the extra distance and weak oppos is another. She can only win the Champion Hurdle if the others start 1 furlong behind. I believe she's lining up a year late; 2024 was her season.

Get rid of the Mares hurdle & novice, Ryanair, Potato , Winter, Pipe.
3 days. If they want a Cheltenham winner they’ve got to earn it.

These are the races I'll only have eg:-
Day 1: Supreme, Arkle, Coral and Champion Hurdle - (4)
Day 2: Turners, Brown and Champion Chase - (3)
Day 3: Ryanair and Stayers Hurdle - (2)
Day 4: Triumph, Bartlett and Gold Cup - (3)

A total of 12 races, and make it a 2-day Festival. The others could go to Aintree or Punchestown.

The best way to keep that mares race and have the all best running in the champion is to cap the mares race at a rating of 155.

If recent comments are to be believed then Willie wants to go Champs and Richie Rich wants to go Mares.

Seems like this is mainly ground related. Is Mullins threatening to run his in the longer races in the hope that the clerk floods the track over the weekend?

Aintree or Punchestown perhaps.

its very interesting how the traders are keeping State Man and Lossiemouth at the same price in the Champion Hurdle now to make it seem like it is a 50/50 chance of a run, more lemmings to the slaughter i guess these double entries are going to be a feature like this every year now. remind me to tune out of them.

Yes Jimnast. Market suggesting Travelodge altho i would prefer Adare Manor for a race for the ages. Market sitched for mares after Riccis appearance @ that preview night where he muddied the waters and virtually every man & his dog (bar Ben Pauling)interpreted it as going Mares.

Geoff no matter what runs in the champion hurdle I won’t be having a bet but no way on a Saturday afternoon before the race should we not know if a big player with a supposedly long term target for the is going to run or not because of another race, injury fair enough even ground,

I think the present scenario is unacceptable. I think the BHA needs to ensure this scenario does not repeat itself in the future. However, I do believe her participation is solely dependent on the presence (or not) of Constitution Hill.

I thought Jennings' piece was poor tbh. They wont change the rules of the Mares Hurdle next year as he claims is certain. Not a chance. He was even agruing that this would never happen in flat racing, that it would be unthinkable that there would be another race run around the time of the Epsom Derby which could deflect potential runners away from the race. Has he never heard of the Oaks, which is run the day before!

Unless anyone has had a bet surely nobody gives a toss anymore , the whole race has been tiresome since Henderson kicked it off with the Chill scenario.
Roll on 3.30pm Tuesday , let's get in finished and buried.

If there's nothing to gain for connections to 'declare' early, but potentially something to gain if they don't, why would they?

Every time you see Mullins on telly he comes across as likeable, polite, humble and as affable as one could hope for. However the yard operates in a deeply ruthless way. It really is an interesting juxtaposition, the public face of the yard in contrast to the mastery of the operation in private. Whomever is calling the shots, it will never be for the benefit of the sport and/or punters. Whether that's the right or wrong approach is debatable, but can be understood.

Correct Cider.

Contempt for punters not confirming Lossiemouth for her race yet while punters on here are being ripped off by those who either know more or can create uncertainty to take a small fortune from ultimately gullible punters on here.
