what looks like going to be a great e/way bet .ALways get scuppered by 7 or less running.
By:
7/1 8 runners Townend riding .Just not going to happen is it.
By:
If she's still in both I think this would infer she'll most probably run in the Mares race; Champion hurdle only if Constitution Hill is an absentee. Otherwise why bother with two entries for two races.

By:
If she was most probably going for the mares she would be 2s not 5s.Shes around 15/2 in Champion coz shes not going to be much shorter than that if she runs. If she runs mares shes a 1/2 shot.
By:
yep unlikely to be e/w 1/5,3
By:
lossie win price on here depend so much on how much ground dry out & townend call...can't see edge in guess week out
By:
mares hurdle having ducked the champion & with 2m prep...I'd be looking to be against @ 1/2
By:
OK 4/6. The point is shes miles away from the price if she went Mares whereas not that far away if she goes Champion. Obviously both got to be over inflated of actual due to 2 entries.

Agree geoff if only 2 places that's why you wait until post time , if under 8 swerve the race and get a latte instead.
By:
Getting close to 8 Eric. You will need to move fast coz it wont last

Some tremendous ramping by you on here geoff m re the mares lol congratulations the trading has been rife i see.
I gave up waiting for my tiny bet for entertainment at 8 on Golden Ace to be taken. |
By:
you will have to send stuart riley a gift voucher for his article on the rpost site he seems to know a lot more than the trainer.
By:
You forgot the smiley face at the end of the ramping accusation eric ( I hope )

The 2 nd biggest race of the national hunt season and the 3rd favourite to lay column 1 £3 column 2 £10 column 3 sfa

As I post
By:
Could she skip Cheltenham and wait for either Aintree or Punchestown instead? The betting for the Champion and Mares Hurdle are uninspiring; the Mares is only worth £84k to the winner, I think.
By:
If she skips Cheltenham for Aintree or punchestown then what little point there is on betting anti post of Cheltenham will become utterly pointless
By:
"She took a heavy fall" could be the convenient excuse for a no-show.
By:
Lossiemouth going Mares by looks now….
By:
Her price is contracting in the Mares Hurdle as I type.
By:
Her connections have a history with late switcheroo eg Vautour eg Gold Cup or in his box. And, he sauntered away with the Ryanair.
By:
Price of Lossiemouth collapsing for the mares. Will there be enough runners in the CH to claim all 6 prizes? I would be gutted if Golden Ace goes there but it is looking possible and she might well finish third.
By:
I'm sure Paul Townend wants her to run in the Mares.
By:
If the jockey calls the shots ahead of the pwner then this truely is the end of antepost betting as the stable has so many of the favourites at this meeting.
By:
He can express a preference without "calling the shots". This stable is more or less killing AP betting anyway.
By:
Surely the horse has already won a mares and now is the stables best chance in the Champion?
It is something you cant take into account antepost if the stable jockeys rides determines what goes where. These late fluctuations totally override any antepost positions held. i am covered on this race but think it is too much effort antepost to gain an advantage now at prices offered. |
By:
the real money is to be made by those with the information late and silence from connections as we are seeing now on here. it is guaranteed to those in the know.
By:
it could be that only culling the Mares Hurdle and Ryanair can save antepost really.
By:
A jockey obviously wants to maximise his number of good chances. An owner may prefer a lesser race if he can get a better jockey. These are added complications.
I'd also comment that Townend appears (by his actions) to think State Man is better than Lossie. |
By:
Betting is central to attendance at the course and there will be many who enjoy taking antepost positions as part of the whole experience. And they wonder why attendance figures are falling with this, the cost of going and having to take a weeks leave now with the extra races over 4 days.
By:
I agree.
By:
Townsend would be on mares fav without lossie going there ,but saves him choosing between stateman and lossie in champion
By:
If Lossiemouth went Mares' it would make Mullins look a total plank. Even he could see that. He's only just said ' this has been the plan for the year blah blah blah' and since then absolutely nothing has changed. You never know what sparks these moves, these threads have been all the over the place with people saying she's going one way, and then the other.
By:
I cant believe that is a priority over what the owner would prefer when it seems his horse has the best chance.
By:
Has it not been blatently obvious for the last 6 weeks that Townend would ride State Man? If he picked State Man over Lossiemouth at the DRF then its not as if anything happened there to make him believe otherwise.
By:
there is little doubt posters on the forum plant seeds on here that create instability for trading.
it is a strange article by the rpost for me. it also seemed to have been pushed back up to the top of the order at one point which coincided with the markets fluctuating again. |
By:
Yes, on the forum 2+2 = 7.
By:
It seems Townend is just choosing State Man out of misguided loyalty. It's not as if Danny Mullins has never ridden a winner with Townend on something else. If Townend is really pushing this then he can't think much of Jade De Grugy.
