I think the TV license works out at 44 pence per day - I saw a Cadburys Cream Egg was 60 pence today and the Racing Post (paper copy) is a fiver.

Bill Shankly called Jock Stein the embodiment of a socialist manager. Whether he was or not I don;t know but Shanks when asked how his teams were so successful said that he had maybe two or three top players and the rest were probably second best in the country at their own positions and that he welded them into a team that was nigh unbeatable.
"It's a form of socialism really"! I can still hear him growling it in appreciation. Stein was absolutely peerless. |
