surely if they believed she'd entered the river further up and you done a sweep of the river the 1st place you'd check would be overhanging into the river obstructions? thats if she had drowned.

It was so glib on Newsnight the other night. Apparently 127,000 mispers were reported in a recent year and the presenter said that 95% of them were found/turned up safe and well.
5% of 127,000 is a big number! |

All those convinced the partner dunnit have gone very quiet.
By:
So the coppers were right then...

An excellent question. |
By:
no idea why this case was so popular on the telly and in the press tbh howard...
maybe it was a slow news day and someone going missing was the biggest story of the day ? and these things just snowball once it's on 24 hours rolling news. and as Blexley says the armchair detective / Tick Tockers scenario will only get worse as it's a good way for them to make cash. |
By:
i dont like people trying to re write history etc,but the 1st 3 george gently types were
ist her bessie mate all over tv ,think she,s still alive, broken cctv etc 2nd the specialist she and partner brought in,she,s deffo not in river, phone etc is a distraction 3rd party involvement 3rd partner she,s deffo not in river |
By:
To actually find her in the river after all makes this an even stranger case than it was when she was missing.
By:
if shes been snagged in that overhanging tree all this time im finding it incredulous that faulding whilst scanning the river didnt check she had been snagged up in the overhanging branches etc..
By:
Police to come on later all smug?
By:
I'm not quiet
very sad news that ![]() |

Been a rise in river yesterday, fist significant lift in height (over a foot) for a while, was a similar lift day before Nicola disappeared.
What many don't understand is the dynamics of a river at diff levels, a rise of a couple of inches can cause significant changes. Most likely body has been dislodged over night imo. RIP Nicola Bulley. |
By:
c'mon on its farcical..if you were sure initially she was in the river which downstream from the weir has some flow/movement surely to fck you would check any overhanging obstructions thoroughly?
By:
Mr.Hunt furious at Faulding coz he went 1000 she was in the river.

FAO hibby..
revised betting in the light of this... suicide 1/50 murdered/kidnapped 33/1 turns up 66's if suicide.. below the weir 10/1 above the weir 10/1 anyother 1/6. |
By:
she might not have been there when he checked Mr.Hunt...
we will probably never know that tho tbh. |
By:
i want to hear what Michelle After Dark has to say about all of this Mr.Hunt.
By:
aye hibs..all very mysterious.
By:
without knowing all of the facts you've got to feel for her family and friends Mr.Hunt...
losing someone in that fashion is horrendous imv. and i do think that the fascination the UK public has with crime dramas is one of the reasons this story has been so big and has attracted so many Vera's and Tick Tockers... Peter Bleksley said something along those lines. |
By:
Bleksley had his say as well on gmb and this morning
By:
Death unexplained..did she drown?
By:
Of course still need to keep an open mind and forensics will be king in confirming if body was in water since disappearance, although I suspect the fitbit might be more than revealing., doubt we will find out though unless there is an enquiry, not sure how it works in Eng.
On another note this case does open up many questions, I think sunshine laws are good and would like to see more info divulged not less, I don't really have a prob with the social media side over MSN, sunshine laws the way forward imo. I hope the fitbit data is made public, put an end to the speculation, but suspect it will be the opposite. |
By:
fitbit was no good as hadnt been in sync for a few days bnbutter

Very sad news.

So all those stupid theories about it being the husband, her best mate, an insurance fiddle etc etc...were all proven to be...stupid. How about the conspiracy theory lot on this thread just admitting you were completely wrong and the police were correct all along?? Come on...
By:
The only conspiracy theory I agreed and went along with, and still do, is that the police made a complete hash of this investigation, from very early on. It is pure luck that she was found, after three weeks of telling us they were sure she was in there. And their comms. have been very poor.
Deepest commiserations to her family and how can we feel anything but the deepest sympathy and angst for her kids. Poor girls. |
By:
Yeah all the conspiracies and gossip is 100% down to the sh1tshow of a police investigation.
By:
So p1sshead falls in the water, drowns and found days later - happens almost daily I'd wager. Police correct from the off, diver with book to sell wallows in self publicity but ultimately trashes his reputation and all the ghouls with empty lives and bizarre theories (of which there are more than a few on here!) all look dumb. As you were lads, nowt to see here, move along and let's forget this ever happened shall we?
By:
We still dont know what happened
Theyve found a body lets just wait until the biopsy is done [ This image is no longer available. ] |
By:
At the end of the day this woman has occupied the headlines and social media for 3 weeks... meanwhile, ~40k people have died in turkey, theres been an environmental disaster in the states and theres still an escalating war in ukraine etc etc etc
![]() |
By:
And there's not a thing we can do about any of it.
But we can ponder a "mystery" on a meaningless chat room Why get so triggered about this? If people don't like gossip, then read a book, don't read message boards etc. |
By:
Im saying its natural to speculate when its literally all over the news...

Sorry unluckyforsome, my post was a general one, not having a go at you specifically.
By:
"On Sunday, Mr Faulding said he hadn't ruled out Ms Bulley being found in the reeds as he hadn't searched there."
It's always in the last place you look, or not look in this case, eh Mr.F? |
By:
The diver was hawking his book for a few days, did the bare minimum search wise, made up a theory even though he didn't know (any?) all the facts and fecks off to carry on hawking his book. Rather elegantly sums up this whole sorry episode.
By:
Yes its all over the news, its been rammed down peoples throats for nearing on a month.. yet the media are now criticising the theories, criticising the would be detectives despite them encouraging the public to try and help
Theres talk of regulating social media again after all this despite what ive said Its pretty pathetic they play this agenda after all theyve done in encouraging the behaviour of social media for a month... |
