be interesting to hear a statement from mr faulding.

By:
... just as well that he never asked for payment for his services, chocolate teapot springs to mind.!
|
|
By:
Let's not forget, whilst Faulding is left with egg on his face the police divers didn;t find any trace either. Did they?
|
|
By:
divers wont have scoured every part of the river for miles..faulding did with his sonar equipment...11hrs later and still not confirmed its her..thats more comedy gold.
|

By:
‘We are going down on with a boat towing the sonar. We're not searching reeds.
‘As I said, originally, a body could lodge in the reeds under debris, and you wouldn't see it on any form of sonar, either the police or our sonar. ‘I was convinced she wasn't in the area from the bench down to the weir. That was where I was 100 per cent in the non-tidal section. ‘That was searched extremely thoroughly - backwards, forwards, backwards, forwards. ‘The tidal bit past the weir I said to everybody, this is an open book. Down to the sea no-one can guarantee that because it's ebbing and flowing. |
|
By:
Looks like they should have had divers in that section that could pull apart debris if the sonar can't see it.

thats where she was found, now without trying to be clever after the event, wouldnt you think an obvious place a body could be trapped in would be thoroughly checked ? |

All those convinced the partner dunnit have gone very quiet. Well she likely didn't find him anything like the perfect partner if by suicide she leaves kids six and nine without a mother. |

Anyway with all the publicity the whip round will likely be well into 7 figures.

All anyone did on this thread was give possibilities and theories and assumptions
I don't see anything wrong with that. |

The whole thing, top to bottom has been awful.
The first and worst part is the lives of those 2 girls totally destroyed. They are too young to cope and too old for it not to have registered ![]() All else isn’t worth pawing over it’s been a joke. |
|
By:
Very tough for them Dusty but unlike the 7 year lad killed by a 55 year old careless driver yesterday morning they are alive haven't got a terminal illness have their father and will have a very comfortable life in a nice house. It's a lot more than many have got in this world.
|
|
By:
still lots of unanswered questions though if it is her.
Like said on here about the dog being dry and many other things. But anyway R.I.P if its her ![]() |
|
By:
I don't understand why people, mostly on here, thought the dog being dry pointed towards third party involvement, abduction, etc.
If you are going to top yourself by drowning and you love your dog (as most dog owners do), the last thing you want is a dog following you in (as many dogs would do) and having to stop what you are doing to save it, or continue with your intent but with a (probably noisy) dog flapping about you. Surely you just separate yourself from the dog (probably utilising the gate that Rico was on about) and the dog stays dry. Sorry for the after-timing. Anyway. Very sad. RIP. |
|
By:
agree about unanswered questions but the dry dog the likely simple explanation is the dog wasn't with her when she entered water. The metal gate and meshed to the bottom fence quite a good barrier between the bench and the other side of the weir.

The police computer was correct, their line of enquiry justified.
All that is required to vindicate the police is to see if she contains salt water… If yes, fair enough. If no, then she’s been within spitting distance from day one and there’s a number of professionals that need hauling into re-training imo. Ironic if that were the case after the police had to issue a dispersal order to remove the public…they were the ones who found her ffs. |
|
By:
The quality of the search looks to have been truly shocking. They weren't dealing with the Humber Estuary here. They thought she was in the river so they didn't have to look in Fleetwood/Blackpool or any town or countryside fields/hills. And they said no crime scene. So all they had to do was search a narrow river for a couple of miles from village. If I had seen the body I would have been tempted to say nowt. Bloke could have been looked up for days.

Don't forget the police never found her, apparently it was a passer by who reported a body.
Has anyone asked what the conference call was concerning? Was there anything in it to make her feel worse about herself? Is it easy to drown yourself in shallow water being a good swimmer? |
|
By:
It's entirely possible she wanted to make it look like an accident rather than suicide. Not saying for insurance but isn't it less hard for the kids? What would you do if that was the case ? Phone /text friends shortly before. Confirm a social event couple of days later. Be listening to a work call as if you are interested in the job going forward. Even being out with the dog in the first place. If it's suicide and you don't care whether it's thought of as suicide you don't do those things imo.

just said on the news body was found less than 1 mile from where she disappeared. ! Surely not. ??
|
|
By:
Is that meant to be sarcasm - GLASGOW - and not disbelief ... given your "??"
If it is disbelief - then you are badly in need of a course in map reading. |

Only repeating BBC news that body was found less than 1 mile from where she initially disappeared, yes Onlooker, disbelief when i heard that.
|
|
By:
So...have all the theories about the partner been shelved now?
|
|
By:
Seems strange he was so convinced she wasnt in the water.
|
|
By:
was thinking about that last night Glasgow. Something not right here I don't care what anyone says. But will police tell all after what they been saying?
|
|
By:
You could think he didn't want her found. He was saying she's not in the river but look in all the sheds /outbuildings/ properties etc. But I suppose you could say he was hoping she was alive in a shed with a bottle of brandy.
|
|
By:
It's still conceivable she fell in accidentally, out of sight of the dog.
This episode has made me more aware of how the menopause can affect women My sister confirmed it affected her mind and temperament. |

Some on here pretending they "KNOW" how rivers work, trying to excuse the pathetic efforts of the diving team in this operation. THEY are the FAILURES here. THEY are the clowns who allowed that lady to float around in there for an obviously unnecessary length of time.. and ultimately FAILED to prolong the agony of her family and friends. Faulding believes there was egos playing out.....the ridiculous part is that they ALL LOST in the end. |
|
By:
Unlikely though. She's has clearly separated herself from the dog on purpose in the only she could have done it at the metal gate. But it's far from certain suicide will be on the death certificate. Many found hanging are not recorded as suicide.

Is where the body has been found, the other side of the weir?
If it's assumed she went into the River near the bench then body would have had to go over the weir. Surely this wouldn't have been possible. So did she purposely walk away from the bench and past the weir, before entering the water ? |
|
By:
in the only place

Facts yes to last question.

This episode has made me more aware of how the menopause can affect women
My sister confirmed it affected her mind and temperament. i can confirm my ex had it really bad went from nice to completely bad someone i didnt recognize and nowhere near the same person took it for 15 plus years but had to leave did all i could but she was never the same again and remember it happens to every woman some have it really bad and others mild its something not in there control, if they have a bad /unlucky menopause you wont be stopping with her i can assure you, numbers having it bad are lowish but the luck of the draw |
|
By:
Sounds like u did most than most would k a If this messes you mind up so much & alcohol/drugs etc plus the home visit wouldn't a really caring husband have taken over ALL dog walks near deep water until she improves ? I know there are other ways but it takes one away.

the river is stated as tidal from the weir which is a mile further up from the body area, its 12miles from the sea..water depth fluctuations/flow will be minimal unless in spate,on the tyne its stated up to wylam which is around 16 mile from the sea there is virtually no fluctuations in depth..no way has she been miles downstream and went back east..where she was found its 6m wide..how shes evaded fauldings sonar and police divers is the mystery.
