Helluvaboy, 1pt EW @ 16-1, 8.00 Kempton (4 PLACES)

I'm going to take a chance on Helluvaboy, who was second at Leicester two starts back over a mile, and although no match for the winner Katie's Kitten, that filly has since gone in again over the same C&D by an even bigger margin off an 8lb higher mark. Helluvaboy was stepped up in grade and trip to 10f at Newbury on his latest start, and appeared not to stay.

Helluvaboy is switched to the AW and dropped back in trip to 7f with blinkers applied, on this return to class 6 company.  He didn't shape too badly over tonight's C&D on his first two career starts when the runs might have been needed.

Percy's Prince, 1pt EW @ 20-1, 8.30 Kempton (4 PLACES)

Percy's Prince has gradually been running back into some sort of form, and ran well last time at Chelmsford over 14f to finsh a clear second to one who is relatively unexposed on the AW.  This is a step up in grade, but he is a C&D winner and makes some EW appeal at the prices with four places on offer.

Bonte Mio, 1pt EW @ 9-1, 8.15 Dundalk

Bonte Mio caught my eye at Leopardstown in August when running well from a wide draw, and I selected her on her next start at Naas when she again probably shaped better than the bare result. Unfortunately I didn't select her when she came out next time and bolted up in a maiden at Gowran. The handicapper has raised her a whopping 16lb for that win to a mark of 84, but given she had twelve horses rated in the 70s behind her, the assessor probably had little choice.

She now has to prove she's up to her new mark on a different surface, but she's a lightly-raced, scopey filly, who shapes as though she won't mind going up further in trip to 12f this evening.

Big Thanks probably shaped better than the bare result in a  fifteen-runner handicap over 5f at the Ayr Western meeting, when from stall one he was on the sharp end in the far side group before being headed a furlong out and then remaining close up until weakening out of it in the closing stages. The fifth and sixth have won since.

His only previous start over this evening's C&D saw him finish fourth of six in June, beaten two lengths behind a filly who has won again over this C&D off a 4lb highrt mark. Big Thanks races here off a 6lb lower mark than on that occasion.
