Can't see any filth again. Mildly dusty 4.16 Windsor and 2.50 Down Royal.
By:
Morning Jon - I have to agree - those two races have a nice shape - but are just the best of a bad bunch on a day where nothing leaps off the page as utter EW filth.
Lots of those races today with maybe just three in the betting (and the odd "lurker" that's hard to totally dismiss) - but those type of races are a far cry from races with just two likely winners (plus the odd "lurker" that can probably be overlooked). A few races that would be interesting if there were further NR's and interested to see how the going pans out at Windsor - but all I've got is speculative, rather than confident. GL. |

By:
Jon - I couldn't play that 14:50 Sligo (NH, Irish, etc) - but I'm hoping you did!

Sligo?
Down Royal today.![]() |

Good day fellas......The 4.16 at Royal Windsor is an interesting one.....I don`t think the fav can give the weight away to the other 2, but trying to split them is hard, So I will be betting the Gosden one to win, and Bringsty Win/PLAICE, although that tight turn slightly worries me, with this one as it looks a massive horse? Not thread related but I am having a decent bet on Notre Belle Bete in the 4.20 Curragh. I have been waiting for this one to come out again, as it ran a cracker on debut(watch the replay), and the form is rock solid.Having been slowly away, and having to come around the field, with normal improvement it has to have a great chance.I also note it has changed ownership since that debut for a tidy some!!!

Hi 37
More hopeful for the place than for the place than the win - but I have now played Bringsty (16:16) EW at 4/1 for minimum stakes - could do without a bolter or a stalls refusal! 16:16 Windsor: Bringsy - Each Way - Half Stake - 4/1 |
By:
Ive backed Bringsty e.w, ran into one on debut.
By:
having seen Bringsty burning too much energy going down to the start (imo), I have upped my bet on Imperial Sun.
By:
GL saddo - market now saying "no" but we'll see.
By:
Bringsty did everything wrong there really - before and during the race - might have to geld him again imo
![]() Had to fear the worse when the £750 bet in the EW market on here got matched! |
By:
pulled way too hard going down TM (hence drift).......so ran very well in the circumstances.
By:
Indeed - ran his race before the race even started - I did say I didn't want a bolter - they all disappointed in one way or another to be fair.
By:
It raced keenly on debut also, but in the actual race! Will hopefully get our money back from it in the future, as it looks a nice horse.
By:
Could do with some "page-leapers" (that aren't National Hunt!) - a straightforward look and bet - anything that requiring a bit of agonising usually results in agony!
By:
TM - I didn't play the 2.50. The more I looked at it the less I fancied any of the front three and to be honest the winner was the one I fancied least of all. I was on the same as you and 37 in the 4.16 so roll on tomorrow is all I can say.

Today's (mildly dusty

Only interested in the 1.30 at Ling so far but i'd need to see a bit of a drift before backing Beau Jardine. Too short at the min for me.
By:
12.30 Accomplice, handy for plc,in a eight runner field, seven times course and distance winner, with regular jockey, drifting like a barge in betting,so win looks unlikely.
By:
1-15 Ayr has to be of some interest just because the fav is ridden by Charlotte Jones and will surely drift..... The trouble is the 2 other "runners" are hardly solid..... Had a bit on the caretaker..... Hopefully strong in the market....

Morning Jon - having been steadfast in refusing to play even the classically shaped utterly filthy NH races on this new thread (at the cost of about +12.00 to the thread bet P&L!) I'm going to have to stick to that for thread bets.
Otherwise I think I would have built some speculative EW doubles around an EW banker in the 19:20 Southwell. But it's dead-8 anyway and with 6 hour gaps between some of the races I would play it with, it's all just a bit too speculative. Long story short - I have got nothing for this thread today! GL |
By:
Well done Tanglefoot (Accomplice) - not really interested in H'Caps (on this thread) - but a very good shout at a nice price.
I love a good place lay/bet in the AW Handicaps - but liquidity prevents putting them up on here because the prices would be fictional - if you get more than a score matched you've probably pushed it in/out to something resembling the price that you think it ought to be! Good shout though. |
By:
Backing Friendly e/w in the 2.35 Gowran.....has the draw advantage on the other fancied ones, and I like backing O`Bs 2nd time out, as most have needed a run.Looks a decent price imo. Good call tanglefoot earlier.
By:
if that horse had been withdrawn earlier, that would have become a filthy e/w bet ....woodwork hit again..onwards and upwards
By:
Unless any of you lot are on it - I would quite like to see this Voyburg (19:20) out of the frame - the speculative EW doubles (that I didn't place) would have gone rather well and I could do without the disappointment and regret!

Nothing for this thread from me today. A couple of "mildly dusty" NH races but apart from that, it's all so clean you could eat your dinner off it imo.
By:
Hi TM, I'll be signing off soon but a wee PM is on it's way re: of a particular race.
By:
Nothing again for this thread from me today.
On the National Hunt front - The 16:20 Tipperary (Annie G) obviously looks a bit of an EW no-brainer (purely on the maths/betting shape) if you can get the 4/1. |
By:
agree TM....I have done it
By:
GL 37 -
Morando (15:15 Chester) is trying very hard to pull me in (at 5/1+ in the BF EW market) - but it's just not dirty enough and mostly based on my dislike for the AOB horse Japan. |
By:
Betting at Chester is like betting on the dogs.....DON`T DO IT
By:
Management - I see the fav in that Tipperary race had to give a thorough explanation as to why it didn't beat Put The Kettle On (champion chase winner) a few years ago .... might explain the odds :D
By:
My problem is that once I take a dislike to a shortie, I mentally start treating it like it's a Non-Runner, from that point on everything else in the race starts to look a big price. I now fancy about 4 of them EW at the prices!
![]() |
By:
shooda - yeah Gypsy Island looks unbeatable - but most of my biggest (Filthy EW) wins have come from opposing horses that look unbeatable - it's the nature of Filthy EW betting. I'm actually pretty sure I backed Put The Kettle On (EW) in the race you refer to.
I don't really get too involved with Irish racing or NH racing these days - hence no thread bet - but the maths/shape of the betting very pretty! |
By:
Rachael on top of Annie G a big positive in my decision
By:
Arrgghhhh.....that was slightly annoying....reckon it had it won if it had jumped the last?
By:
She gave it a good go for you 37 - went 1.30 in-running
By:
The fav jumped the 2nd last like a pool table - but she returned the favour at the last.
By:
I didn;t see the race management - sounds like you were unlucky
