Well said and I couldn't agree more. The key for me to all of this alleged stuff - and let's be clear, at present it is all alleged - is of course whether anything is different from what has gone on for time immemorial in the jockey's working arena and environment. Somehow I doubt it. As for McCoy's so-called insult, ffs Bryony have a word with yourself. he said nothing at all about you, positive or negative, but in fact opined that the horse was so good on the day it just needed steering - by whoever rode it. Just because McCoy is brusque and to the point doesn't make him anything other than brusque. As for I can't say too much c rap, if what she says is true, why say anything at al, about, and thus stir the embers of a nothing comment? Don't be a snowflake Bryony and stop girning. |

It always makes me laugh the mockers on here, swaddle with his back handed right hook followed by another bully like post by the 1st time poster that we have to swallow because it’s rammed down our throat...you might think it’s **** but boy do we have to know it with no back up to the argument...ok so you’re right and that’s it but others may have a different opinion, **** as that maybe
Nicholls horses are invariably ridden prominently 1st time poster I think most know that and if frost was given the opportunity to educate a horse from behind I’ve no doubt she would be capable, if given the opportunities...she produced that storm arising to a nicety Saturday not sure that helps with 99.9999 percent you use but that was clearly a one off The white mouse for a different trainer, eclair de guye are a few from this season if given the opportunity, which I don’t think she gets and I’m allowed that opinion I don’t rate Cobden but I didn’t build that opinion over night...I do rate frost and I didn’t build that over night so where do we go I heard some slating Matt griffiths recently but I think he’s a capable rider I’m allowed that opinion I like Dave Allen as a rider, he doesn’t get enough rides but I don’t come on here after he’s had a winner and say how great he is, I just like him I have a problem with James Doyle not being capable of getting a horse to change leads but who cares The point is, if I think frost is capable and doesn’t get enough rides I’m allowed that opinion...you don’t think she is but I couldn’t give a monkeys and if she has 150 rides in a row and gets 30 rides a week and rides like a mug, I may form you’re opinion but you’re opinion as it stands, is not factual just what you’ve got in you’re head |

saying cobbden got away with macfabulous ride is plainly ridiculous and if frost had given same ride you,d be on here saying what a perfect example of a hold up,ride by frost |
|
By:
I'm not Cobden's greatest fan but he's only going one way and that's to the top, think he's got a good temperament which is essential in the job he's got and he's only going to get better riding the best horses,he couldn't have got the job at a better time either as the Nicholls string looks stronger than anytime since Kauto,Denman etc, think he'll be there for years as he's always been part of the furniture down there, would take him before Frost any day of the week but of course that's just my opinion.
|
|
By:
No I wouldn’t be on saying that 1st time poster in regards mcfabulous and frost riding him...personally I wouldn’t be making any comment as couldn’t give a monkeys..
Penzance said it was good ride and he’s allowed that opinion, I think the horse was just much superior to the opposition on the day but the ride wasn’t great...so please I know you’ve got in you’re head that I’m going to be posting about how much I love frost and any other junk people want to get their hands on but I’m merely saying she should get more rides and is under rated until given the opportunity...like I said when I have the facts she is no good after a succession of feck ups I’ll form that opinion then Did you here me comment on frosts rides Saturday, no you didn’t as I don’t care pal...I’m not a pat on back merchant, the discussion on here is about frost and anyway I’ve voiced my view and don’t care what people think but you won’t get me on after races slating riders or ramping riders...let me know when I do, otherwise take the thought from you’re brain as I never post on these matters on here |

Eh I didn’t mention anything negative or positive about Bryony
I just simply stated that if Megan was bigger you get the feeling she would be the no1, which is fair enough for obvious reasons? Call yourself down ![]() |

By:
I thought that Megan decided that jumping was not for her and she has done well to establish herself on the flat.

Going wide round bends is not often the best strategy but when Kempton has any give in it, coming wide up the straight is a big advantage.
|

By:
Just on the mcfabulous ride what did everyone like about it? We may as well get to the bottom of this competent ride? So many couch jockeys on here after all and I like to be kept honest... with so many judges on how to ride and what is a good ride, it should be easy
My thought was, he would of known the horse was working well and up against inferior opposition on the day... so why rush him up early, lose his position, then keep rushing him up and down the field throughout the race...what’s good about this? I don’t get what was Why not just know he’s on a hold up horse and drop the horse in and ride a race on him knowing he’s on the best horse...I doubt the horse has learnt anything from the experience tbh... We’ve learnt plenty though, as we know after being ridden to lose he’s clearly a horse of an immense amount of talent to still win so easily |
|
By:
where in my post did I say it was a good ride?
I stated he came from the back. |
|
By:
Best horse in the race but also the least experienced so the priority is to get a clear view of the obstacles and maintain an even gallop which he did. The only really poor ride I have seen from Cobden recently was on Thyme White at Newbury when he was again on the best horse but got stuck in traffic and unseated. It will win the Betfair Hurdle if it runs.

From the SUN today..ROBBIE DUNNE has been named as the jockey at the heart of the Bryony Frost 'bullying' investigation.
Frost made a formal complaint to the BHA following an altercation between the pair at Southwell last September after the horse Dunne was riding was killed.Dunne, whose biggest win came in the 2015 Scottish Grand National on Wayward Prince, was furious with Frost after his horse Cillian’s Well fell and was fatally injured. He believed Frost was partly to blame for the sad incident, but it is not yet clear how heated the altercation became between the pair. Frost, 25, made history when she became the first female jockey to ride the winner of the King George VI Chase aboard Frodon at Kempton on Boxing Day. She has since hinted at an ongoing 'bullying' issue, which is being investigated by the BHA, but she has been reluctant to go into too much detail. She said: "At the minute it's really hard for me to talk about. "I'm not allowed to say much because it's in the hands of the BHA. They have taken control of it and for the moment I can't say any more." The BHA have also refused to comment, but Dunne told The Times: “Most jockeys work on the basis that what happens in the weighing room stays in the weighing room. "It’s under BHA investigation. Leave them to do their work.” |

By:
The incident took place at Southwell on September 3. Frost’s horse, Wisecracker, edged to the left as he jumped the fourth-last fence. Cillian’s Well was racing in behind Wisecracker and suffered a fatal injury as a result of a fall.
One jockey who did not want to be named said: “A few things have happened since then [Southwell]. I’m surprised that Bryony has said what she has, as there’s an investigation going on.“Somebody’s had a fall and felt that Bryony squeezed them up going into a fence. When you have a fall, sometimes you come back and you’re not thinking straight. I thought he was probably in the wrong blaming Bryony. “The horse was killed as well. It was a pearler of a fall. He’s hurt, and the horse was back in the stable haemorrhaging. "We all have to look after each other. Normally, we’re relying on other people [jockeys] picking us up from hospitals. I’ve not seen any resentment of Bryony." |

There have been several instances over the years of jockeys taking the law into their own hands , wasn't Fallon banned for whipping a fellow jockey many moons ago for something similar , this is a tough game, the result of a horse falling in front of you can have dire consequences for both. If the jockey felt he or she were to blame surely he or she is entitled to voice their opinion .

I had a look at the race workrider. Her horse was jumping a bit to the left most of the race.It was not her fault that the other horse fell.I have alot of time for robbie dunne it was probably a heat of the moment exchange. The race was on the 3 of september.

This whole matter is in danger of being distilled into merely a Bryony Frost issue when the original article hinted strongly that whilst she had been on the receiving end of some nastiness she was also acting as a spokeswoman on behalf of other junior jockeys who were being bullied. The world has changed in the last twenty years and what was acceptable in the 1990s and before is not now tolerated. When I look back on what was normal and acceptable in my working life in the City I shudder to think how i'd have got on during the past ten years or so.

RACING
BHA investigates row between Bryony Frost and fellow jockey Robbie Dunne over fatal fall Rob Wright, Racing Editor Wednesday January 13 2021, 12.01am, The Times Horse racing and tips Frost, who won the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day, has hinted at behind-the-scenes struggles, thought to be related to a weighing room row with Dunne Frost, who won the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day, has hinted at behind-the-scenes struggles, thought to be related to a weighing room row with Dunne Share Save Leading jumps jockey Bryony Frost has made a formal complaint to the British Horseracing Authority over the behaviour of fellow rider Robbie Dunne after an incident in which a horse was killed at Southwell last September. After Cillian’s Well fell and was fatally injured, his jockey, Dunne, thought Frost was partly to blame and an altercation followed. It is not known what occurred between the pair but it was enough for Frost to make the complaint. Frost, 25, had the biggest success of her career when landing the King George VI Chase with Frodon at Kempton on Boxing Day and she hinted at an issue the following day when saying that “there are things that need to be sorted out”. It emerged yesterday that there is an investigation by the BHA into Dunne’s behaviour at Southwell. The governing body refused to comment but there is no sign yet of the matter being brought to a conclusion. Dunne was reluctant to say too much yesterday because of the inquiry. However, he did say: “Most jockeys work on the basis that what happens in the weighing room stays in the weighing room. It’s under BHA investigation. Leave them to do their work.” The race in question was a handicap chase at Southwell on September 3. Frost’s mount, Wisecracker, edged to the left as he jumped the fourth-last fence. Cillian’s Well was just behind Wisecracker on his inside and fell, sustaining a fatal injury. Frost’s mount had edged left at several fences before the incident and there appeared to be no intent on her part to make a dangerous manoeuvre. Dunne clearly felt that she should have done more to keep her mount straight and confronted her after the race. It is not unusual for jump jockeys to have words in the heat of the moment, which is unsurprising given the dangers that they face. Cillian’s Well, blue and white silks, fell after jumping the fourth-last fence on the tail of Wisecracker Cillian’s Well, blue and white silks, fell after jumping the fourth-last fence on the tail of Wisecracker SKY SPORTS RACING The investigation has dragged on and as a result this issue is now festering in the weighing room. One jockey, who did not want to be named, said: “A few things have happened since then [Southwell]. I’m surprised that Bryony has said what she has, as there’s an investigation going on. “Somebody’s had a fall and felt that Bryony squeezed them up going into a fence. When you have a fall, sometimes you come back and you’re not thinking straight. I thought he was probably in the wrong blaming Bryony. SPONSORED “The horse was killed as well. It was a pearler of a fall. He’s hurt, and the horse was back in the stable haemorrhaging. We all have to look after each other. Normally, we’re relying on other people [jockeys] picking us up from hospitals. I’ve not seen any resentment of Bryony.” Jump racing is an exceptionally tough sport, with about one in every 20 mounts ending with the jockey on the deck. Frost has done brilliantly well in breaking into the upper echelons of a male-dominated world and there is no doubting her ability, but there have been increasing signs recently that her place as the darling of the media has started to grate with her fellow riders. Harry Cobden, who is No 1 jockey to 11-times champion trainer Paul Nicholls — for whom Frost also rides — told The Times last month: “She’s obviously done well out of the cameras. They like her and it’s got her career going. “Paul’s put her on nice horses. If the cameras weren’t involved would she have gone as far as she has? I don’t know. But she has managed it really well, especially last year because Bryony Frost was the face of jump racing.” Frost recently said that it has become a “struggle” for her. She said the BHA investigation meant she could not go into more detail but said: “It is hard for me to chat about it because there are still things that need to be sorted out. It’s nothing I can’t handle.” Her father Jimmy, a trainer and former Grand National-winning jockey, told the Daily Telegraph that the prevailing attitude among male jockeys was outdated and forbidding, and made him wonder whether he would advise young people to become jockeys. He urged the BHA to take action to address the problem. “I just think it’s a tough world at the moment to go into and it shouldn’t be,” he said. “It should come into the 21st century, and we should look after each youngster. It’s probably getting to the stage where I would struggle to recommend it to a youngster. “Bryony’s got quite a lot of young followers, boys and girls. I’ve got one who comes for lessons once a week. They want to follow that career but, listening to her sometimes at what goes on, I wouldn’t recommend them to follow that. It would be nice to see that change. Something needs looking at.” Horse racing and tips |

From @mrcombusible's post -- Cobden said -- “Paul’s put her on nice horses. If the cameras weren’t involved would she have gone as far as she has? I don’t know. But she has managed it really well, especially last year because Bryony Frost was the face of jump racing.”
It does look like it is Bryony's media profile that is making people jealous. My advice, when ITV sticks a microphone under your nose, try smiling, make it seem like racing is fun. It hasn't done Frankie any harm. And these nice horses Paul Nicholls sticks her on? Frodon was the 20/1 rag in the King George, while Nicholls had Sam TD and Cobden himself on the 85/40 fav and 5/2 shots. |
|
By:
PN's in a tricky position seeing as his stable jockey has firmly nailed his colours to the mast of Bryony's envious/jealous detractors. Whatever the result of this investigation the weighing room isn't going to be a happy place for months to come.
|
|
By:
how many outside rides does it get her, she might be great in itv,s eyes ,but she,s obviously a marmite character in and out of the weighing room
this dr doolitle act not likely to go down well with hard nosed trainers |
|
By:
Is it possible Bryon has received so much publicity simply because it is a tough sport and male dominated. To change that wouldn't make her, or any girls following her, that exceptional imo. It is part and parcel of the game.
If I was driving down the road and a car veered over and made me crash, killing my passenger, should I make allowances for the fact the other car was driven by a woman? Is that what Bryony is asking for? Make exceptions because she is a woman? |
|
By:
workrider, you're frank telling of your own learning curves should tell us all just how tough a game race-riding is.
I remember Fallon hooking Stuart Webster out of his stirrup, and thus the saddlle, after a race ( but still on the course ), as his version of just retribution for a perceived in-race failing. |

I don't think for one minute a male jockey should hit a female jockey but I do believe they should have the right to criticise where applicable. You would have thought with Bryony growing up in stables she would have been able to handle it but maybe she was protected because her Dad was the trainer and now PN is the trainer. Who knows?
|
|
By:
Yes where applicable . I do think its worth a look at the race , and if you werent forewarned that there had been an issue , you wouldnt have known that there was one .
|
|
By:
the whole media circus in England has made me despise frost, I'm not the only one either, you cannot say anything about her or you get attacked by her brainwashed fans or the absolute middle-aged weirdo creeps who drool over her
|
|
By:
Quite right paulo ...have watched it frame by frame and can't see anything approaching careless let alone dangerous riding. No reference to the incident recorded in the Stewards report so it's a mystery as to why Dunne is so resentful.
|
|
By:
As I said a good jockey but not sure she deserves the massive praise heaped upon her by as Xaar says a bunch of middle aged creeps who are terrified of saying anything that might even sound like criticism in case they lose their spot on the gravy train. Surely she would have heard and seen things that are part and parcel of stable life growing up in a stable, if you can take praise surely you must be able to take criticism as well .
|
|
By:
I doubt Dunne was aggrieved over nothing and these incidents cannot always be easily seen on the television. If this was over nothing it would have been dismissed so I guess there is more to it than that.
|
|
By:
How would you bet AP vs Bryony in the boxing ring ,10/11 each of two is fair. Two sluggers in a tough sport.
A Touch of Frost every time - she could give him a low blow to the balls. |
|
By:
The ludicrous comments that anyone could have won on Frodon should be the last paid media work.
If you lead all the way you have to the fractions correct otherwise emptying a long way out will lead to unhappy owners and trainers. It was a superb ride and as good a round of jumping as you will see in the King George and the jockey deserves all the plaudits received. |
