Bryony and Frodon won the King George. And, I firmly Frodon could not have won it without Bryony; Bryony rode the other male jockeys to sleep except Nico.

Bryony was magnificent the way she dictated the pace to suit whilst the others on major runners did not believe Bryony and Frodon would win instead were more preoccupied watching one another.

As for McCoy the sooner he's off-the-air the best for me. He's inarticulate and extremely boring with no charisma or personality.

Impossible first you say no-one but Bryony could have won on Frodon and then you say they other jockeys weren't watching her. You cannot have it both ways. I don't believe anyone is irreplaceable. Bryony is a good rider and a good talker but irreplaceable she isn't. Good luck to her but with good luck and good fortune comes resentment and jealousy. Everyone has to live with that, men and women.

how did she ride other jocks to sleep
she went from the front on a front runner, exactly where every jockey, tainer, viewer,.my granny new she,d be
your not saying others in the race ran stones below their best because frost went from front on a front runner, after a 100 yds there,d have been over the moon how the race was panning it,nothing to do with frost or frodden ,to what was happening behind

Not everyone gets on with everyone at a work place, some people just rub each other up the wrong way. It doesnt necessarily mean bullying.

Trust the Gaurdian where anythng said they take offence too.

Bryony is a very good jockey who gave Frodon a peach of a ride and she obviously gets on very well with him.

Some credit must be given to the horse as well, it jumped like a stag and bolted in.

Bryony has to get her head down and continue to ride as well as she has been, and realise not everybody will get on with her. If someone makes a comment she doesnt agree with then just have her say on the issue.

It is not just Frodon though is it? If it was then you could argue that any jockey might have won on that. Her rides at Chepstow were very good and all different. Pozo Emery was a big raw novice, ridden from the front and kept enough in hand to win. Smart Pursuit went round the inner in midfield but met every flight on a stride and jumped past the placed horses at the alast and hung on. Yala Enki always prominent but had enough in reserve to hold a good third. She is versatile as well as very good.

She is a credit to her profession and a great role model for young riders regardless of gender.

She is clearly a horsewomen first and foremost and shows that empathy with your mount is the foundation on which all other jockeyship skills should be built.

Frost gave that a good ride in the King George.
Could have gone off at too strong a pace, she never,
dictated it at the pace she wanted to go.

Frodon had sufficient ability to win that King George given the astute and intelligent ride of Bryony, aided and abetted by the jocks on CDO and Cyrname - the market leaders. If the 2nd or 3rd had been given a more enterprising and positive ride by their pilot a different result would have been most likely. Such is horse racing, but I was very glad for Bryony and Frodon.

This was an article in the Times on Boxing day by Rick Broadbent talking to Harry Cobden and I quote the last couple of paras .....' She's obviously done well out of the cameras ' he says ' They like her and its got her career going . Paul's put her on nice horses .If the cameras weren't involved would she have gone as far as she has ? I dont know . But she has managed it really well , especially last year because Bryony Frost was the face of jump racing .' and later ' Some people like to see themselves on TV but it doesnt do it for me.

Poetic justice the result !

Can you imagine the owners such as Andy Stewart and others who spend 6 figures on horses allowing her to ride just because she talks well on TV? I would think that her openness could lose her rides as many owners are very secretive.

Snowynoon is spot on, too much political correctness around. Its time people had a good look at themselves very able to take praise but critical debate and suddenly its bullying . Frost is a good jockey no doubt about it , commentator's now going over the top every time a Woman wins a race .

Bryony must have upset him somewhat to have made those comments. Granted the bloke isn't one of the brightest however letting his obvious jealousy over the way she handles herself and the fact she's occasionally put up on a decent horse does him no credit whatsoever.

Best thing Bryony Frost can do is keep her head down and keep doing what she is doing. Her personality and riding ability will shine through. As long as Nicholls is on her side she will do well. Getting the BHB involved is like involving HR in your workspace, it never goes well as they are working for the company.

QUESTION :
If McCOY said what he did, is he not saying the other jockeys rode shyyyte races.
Is he therefore not slagging them off ?
Therefore is he not Bullying and Belittling them?

Lots of jockeys have had punch ups in the weighing room, someone could do something dangerous in a race and it could put that jockey in a wheelchair
or even kill them, so there's bound to be a bit of needle.

wow if these are verbatim quotes from cobden then although based on fact (at least from my far off perspective) it doesn't reflect well on him particularly as they're attached to the same stable - I read elsewhere that there may have been a relationship between the two in the past, if true then perhaps some lingering issues as a result..

personally I don't like the OTT focus on bryony/hollie etc although I can see why media promotion of female jockeys is forefront in the current (recent past) environment HOWEVER that shouldn't take away from the fact that they're both very capable and better than many of their male counterparts

Bryony is a good interviewee. Harry clearly doesn't understand the importance of selling himself, those quotes don't indicate much intelligence.

not sure if this was posted ... A mid-race incident leading to angry words between jockeys is believed to be at the heart of an investigation by racing’s ruling body referred to by Bryony Frost on Monday.

The King George-winning jockey spoke in Saturday’s Guardian about “ongoing things that need to be sorted out” and the difficulties they were causing her, and was quoted in the Racing Post as saying the matter is in the hands of the British Horseracing Authority.

Bryony Frost: 'Some people will always frown. Opinions are not facts'

That has led to talk of an investigation into bullying but Frost does not appear to have used that word and specific details are hard to establish, the BHA is sticking to its long-established practice of refusing to confirm or deny whether it is pursuing a particular case. Frost spent Monday riding in races at Doncaster and declined to elaborate on her previous comments.

But the Guardian has learned of evidence being gathered in relation to an incident some months ago, involving Frost and another rider in a post-race weighing-room confrontation. Friction between the pair arose from a race in which a horse fell, leading to accusations it had been the result of interference.

Statements have since been taken by BHA investigators from others who were on the site that day. That came as a surprise to another jump jockey, who said such clashes did not usually end up as disciplinary matters.

“You see words between people but that happens from incidents in races every now and again,” said the rider, who did not wish to be named. “It’s not a common thing but it’ll happen every two to three weeks, somebody’s not happy about somebody’s riding and they’ll come back in and say it.”

Frost’s concern evidently does not stop with a single incident but she has been careful not to point a finger at any individual. In the days after her well-publicised Boxing Day victory on Frodon, she spoke of difficulties “from within the sport” and said: “It’s nothing I can’t handle.”

In Saturday’s Guardian, she told Donald McRae: “There are ongoing things that need to be sorted out and there is protection that needs to be given to others. So at the moment I can’t go too much into it. But it’s something I’m going to be trying extremely hard to make better and move forward in a positive way. But at the minute my hands are tied as to how much I can go into such things.”

Asked if the atmosphere in the weighing room among her fellow jockeys is difficult, Frost replied: “Yes. I struggle and I’ve got to make sure I don’t say anything too much. Sorry. I’m a bit stuck with this one.”

When the Racing Post asked her on Friday about the concerns she had alluded to at Christmas, Frost replied: “At the minute, it’s really hard for me to talk about. I’m not allowed to say much because it’s in the hands of the BHA. They have taken control of it and for the moment I can’t say any more. In time I will talk about it because it concerns something that must be improved for our younger generation.”

A BHA spokesman responded to queries with its stock phrase for such occasions: “The BHA does not comment on ongoing investigations or speculation concerning potential investigations.”

Frost’s natural ebullience has made her popular in the media and it would be no surprise if that provoked some jealousy or resentment among other riders who may imagine they deserve better opportunities. But jump jockeys have long insisted on the essentially supportive nature of the weighing room and Sam Twiston-Davies did so again on Monday, adding he had seen no evidence of bullying there.

“When you’re injured, it’s a place you look forward to getting back into and the camaraderie is great,” he said. “It’s a place, I can honestly say, it nearly makes me laugh every single day.

“Personally, I think the weighing room is a safe place, it’s a place I very much enjoy going. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had cross words with people and people have had cross words with me but there’s obviously respect between everyone.

“Tom Scudamore would be a close personal friend of mine. At Market Rasen last week we got a little bit tight, me and him, we exchanged words across the weighing room, quite strong words, and then the next day we’re back best friends, we’re laughing and joking together again. That’s always going to happen, not every day but there’s always going to be incidents in a competitive situation where adrenaline is high. There’s gonna be arguments.

“It’s such a tight-knit fraternity. It doesn’t matter if you don’t see eye to eye with who’s sat next to you, that same person may well be driving you to hospital that same day.

I think if frost wasn’t the eccentric personality on the telly that she is, she’d be stable jockey at nicholls stable

You can tell Paul nicholls finds her hard to deal with her eccentric ways on the television but I’m afraid he has let this get in the way of his thinking, as she is a far better rider than Cobden who is just a one trick pony rider...if Cobden isn’t sat on the front end he cannot ride, it has to be easy for the kid...no one is criticising him for riding cyrname so badly

Frost comes across to me as not getting enough opportunities on nicholls horses and she is a good educator of a horse, riding on a similar long reign to Noel fehily so shouldn’t be sniffed at, as the talent is their imo

Whether her annoying ways on the telly will stand in her way in the long term, I’m not sure, I hope not...I just mute her but after riding a race like that, opportunities should be coming her way and I think she is a decent horseman who doesn’t actually get the recognition for being a good rider that she should, because of her eccentric ways on the telly but she is a decent rider imo

Bryony outshone the other jocks in the King George similarly, Hollie in some prestigious Flat races. Their counterparts overseas have been doing that for a long while now given the opportunities. I think Bryony and Hollie dispel the belief (myth) that female jocks are less able and less physical. But, I think some female jocks are more intelligent, and better prepared eg the female investment managers in the City of London, and retail investors - they are less exuberance and gungho.

Who gives a hoot as long as they deliver given the opportunities? McCoy delivered, but he rode a lot of short price fancies/fav in the process than most of his fellow jocks.

Why did he give Sam twisting Davies the job cropstick? Who knows, nicholls has always lived in a blame culture with riders, normally when everything isn’t going right at the barn and someone needs blaming for the shortcomings, as it never falls at his door, it never has

never read so much shoite since ergh yesterday,
it falls down instantly as 99.9999999% of frosts winning rides are from the front frodden, black corton, yala enkithe chaser at kings, etc
name a ride she,s brought from the back to put in front on the jam stick,
she,s basically getting limited rides on good horses,if she was riding 30 horses a week in all types of races on all types of horses she,d be getting same scruitny as cobbden etc,
she couldnt ride a winner get a ride 4/5 months ago, there was a thread on here about it
