I'm liking the odds (33-1), striding, and if his form had been on the turf I might have taken a chance, but all things considered (notably Flat ratings) I'm going to pass.
The Edmunds horse seems solid in the betting, and you'd think given who he was trained by, he might have had some good schooling already. Mind, I suppose you could turn that around and ask why didn't they keep the horse for themselves to go juvenile hurdling  |

ie although we have no clue about G Moore's runners from of it's first hdls run, his 2to record often see them come on considerably (his runner wasn't fancied at Kempton).

I must admit, an American-bred son of Elusive Quality wouldn't fill me with confidence for the jumps, but it seems he brings the best hurdles form (what there is of it) into the race.

Shirley Heights sire line on the dam's side, so presumably the stamina is there for the job.

Alhebayeb (silkstone) and Syouni (dawn trader) are pretty much ?? for this game at this stage.Elusive Quality certainly not the strongest of sires for a hurdling type.
Of course if it were an exact science we wouldn't have the sport or the punting conundrums we love to try and solve. |

Rafiot's dam was a 10f Group 1 winner on soft in Brazil, and looking on the RP site, EQ has had a few useful types over jumps, notably Demonstrative, a dual G1 winner in the US.

Queens Solider (Soldier Hollow), was the other to Stuart's in the race that looked likely on sires profile (for me the Edomonds runner swayed me with it's flat rating + sires jumping record). Only rated 61 and out of a seller but we know some just look like different horses with a few obstacles in the way.

yes my fancy never anywhere near the 7/1 (11/2 in RP tissue) goes off a well backed 15/8ish fav on here from early 9/2.
And yours nibbled and lands a place at 18/1.  Winner has to brush up its jumping from that, it's flat ability got it through against that opposition. |

I don't know what the ground is there but maybe given his pedigree, he needs it proper quick, and his win in France was on the AW
And it's noticeable the 2 runs for Moore, both round sharp bare 2 miles, so maybe they've got stamina reservations too |

I thought Nicky Richards runner Chapel Stile in the 1:20 is interesting now chasing ( NOT TODAY from lay off) but up over 3m+ again could have more to offer this season.
See how it jumps today, obviously the races are slower tempo over the larger obstacles but doesn't look the most obvious of placements this trip round carlisle, should get tapped for a bit of toe really you'd think. |

Three Castles, 1pt win @ 10-1, 1.45 Musselburgh
I've two qualifiers here, Three Castles and Bullion Boss, and unlike on Sunday when I had a brain-freeze and opted against picking a 33-1 shot EW, the prices are going to dictate from now on, even if I'm struggling to make a cogent case! As it happens, it's not difficult to make a case for Three Castles, as he comes here on the back of a respectable run on the Flat, handles soft ground perfectly well and stamina shouldn't be an issue. The negatives are, on Flat ratings he has a bit to find, particularly with his new stablemate and current favourite El Picador, who has been bought out of Sir Michael Stoute's yard, and has Brian Hughes on board. A possible query for both El Picador and Bullion Boss is whether softish ground is ideal, though maybe with it being good to soft in places, it won't be too bad round Mussy. Burnage Boy has plenty to find on Flat ratings but his debut run over hurdles at Wetherby was boosted when his conqueror finished runner-up in the Listed hurdle back there the other day. An intriguing runner is Balranald, a 10f winner on the AW in France, and bought out of J-C Rouget's yard for 40,000 euros to join Lucinda Russell. |

* Wakool is another bought out of J-C Rouget's yard (for 48,000 euros), and also looks an interesting runner having placed on his three Flat starts in France on ground ranging form heavy to good to soft.

Tricky because a couple of interesting french bred's but trainers that aren't that strong ft in such races. Nicky Richards another on profiles that hasn't been strong landing this sort of hurdles race ft.
Karasheni has disappointed since some promising early flat runs in Ireland perhaps dangerous to write off just yet. I think Micky's all in all should be top of the market, around 6/1 think layers are playing with fire a bit. The fact spittin's horse is being nibbled says it all about this contest! GL GEORGE a weak race for me confidence wise but the wrong fav at present in my book. Out of the two KD ones yours a bit stronger today. |

Of the KD pair, I suppose the ground may suit mine better, but the track could suit El Picador if he races the way he did when winning at Chepstow. The ex-French pair look interesting if they're ready for today off breaks. |

KD is superb with imports GEORGE, a very small sample but he's given them a few runs before winning when he gets them over hurdles from elsewhere ft over obstacles.

He's got some big priced places including 100/1 in similar races but pretty much backing blind.
AS mentioned there was a nibble in mkt (looked too short to me) before easing late today. A few had an inkling. |

Three Castles hit 1-3 in the run, but just watching it back there, not sure he was going to hold on, was being closed on strongly

winners todays George Ridsale 14.8, Alberts Back 25.3, Alberts Back 2.21 roycano his 100/1 runner up was 38.0 on here to place. another 33/1 placed at 6.27 canford Kibey (7 runners but nr still 3 place market) and another winner janets pearl at 9.69 from only 32 races he's building up a bit of a portfolio |
