Anyone remember this farce - Ali's opponent that night is now credited as the person who evolved MMA and this is where it all started, don't know how Ali just didn't kick his head in, but then again kicking is alien to American sportsmen. |

Tis true shafter did the doors in Newcastle. What he forgot to mention it was at Burger King breaking up the wee birthday party arguments.
He also tried his hand as a long distance lorry driver ferrying cattle. Sacked after a month When the foreman of the haulage company business told him he didn't fancy someone driving for him in a situation where the cargo had more sense than him. |

Mayweather is all about his legacy and his unbeaten record. He loses here and all of that is completely undone. Don't think he would take this if there was even a modicum of doubt in his mind about the outcome.
Anybody else, and I could see why they might fiddle it to create a rematch or even a trilogy given the money they could make, but I think Mayweather's record means too much to him. |
|
By:
Are you sure? It was a PM but not a private message it was a Physic Message?

Not just Mayweathers legacy at stake, it is Boxing itself at stake, he loses and boxing becomes a laughing stock IMO.

I definitely think you'll find better 1.27 shots
Firstly the myth that gets perpetuated about Mayweather "no one has ever laid a glove on him". That is utter b0llox. He gets tagged sometimes. He's had 11 fights in 10 years, at 40 even a great must hit the buffers at some point. I was no fan of UFC but Mcgregors hand speed and accuracy are both impressive. If you watch all these training vids behind all the joking and p1ss taking is an incredible hunger I reckon not many of FMs opponents had in the last 10 years Mayweather likes to spend a round or two to see what is in front of him before stepping on the gas. Not sure he'll get that luxury here |
|
By:
do you think mcgregors handspeed will be anything close to mayweather (even at 40), i didn't, also didn't think his accuracy would come close either if i'm honest?
|
|
By:
in fairness lev..watching some of cm's sparring videos he looks average at best.
|
|
By:
I was definitely of the opinion that UFC was sh1te without ever really watching it. Just saying I've been pretty impressed with McGregors skills. Granted I'm no expert obviously.

Laughable "fight" that the money man will laugh his way through. His only obsession besides money is his 0 loss record. And the idea he'd chuck that away(against a non-boxer
) just to add some xtra millions to his already obscene bank balance is just ridiculous. The pressure on the odds is purely down to the hype and support on the side of McGregor. He has so many hardcore followers..and Mayweather is largely despised, so for his many detractors there's no better opponent to take him on with than someone who is considered the ultimate "showman". They'll happily buy into they hype, they'll happily chuck their money on this particular underdog..which only ends up creating immense value on his grossly superior opponent. But I doubt McGregor will care much after he's been schooled for however many rounds it lasts. His job was done once the MEGA-MONEY fight had been agreed to - and the hyped-up, trash-talking tour had ended. They ain't getting a bean from me. I'll be watching the freak show on the best free stream I can find. |

hasnt the op a fine record in getting long odds on shots beat? real madrid at 1.25 and haye at 1.1 spring to mind. maybe this one will win, in which case well done you are amazing.
|
|
By:
McGregor's best hope is to land a big left early on and if he does then Mayweather will be in trouble, although it's not as if he is going to be a stationary target anyway.
I've also thought McGregor has looked a bit chinny himself though at times and especially in the first fight with Nate Diaz, yet have a feeling Mayweather will want to play it out a bit to make McGregor look bad, which might be a bit risky, as I reckon McGregor can end the fight with a single punch but I'm not sure Mayweather can, yet could well finish it with a combination of punches. |

1.31 this morning and building, the early mcgregor ko rnds 1-3 has shortened which is where the danger is being perceived looking at the markets

The biggest con ever.

By:
I reckon McGregor can end the fight with a single punch - so can most boxers, but they have to connect first. If McGregor wins he wins, but the price looks completely wrong to me, I don't like long odds on but this looks huge all things considered.
|
|
By:
All you need to remember is that this is no more than a money making machine.
|
|
By:
If he is beat then so be it, but I cannot think that he is willing to throw away his unbeaten record in any fight, let alone this one as Prosniper says above.
