Massive price, surely will completely outclass McGregor who will probably try and go mental and get picked off with ease. Floyd will be too technical and will be too quick for him imo, I reckon it will be a terrible fight and certainly won't be paying to watch it.
Stranger things have happened, but I honestly wouldn't bet McGregor at double the price. |

It does seem one of those "too good to be true" things, but I cannot see why Mayweather would throw away his record to get beat by a cage fighter - even if there is a chance of a rematch for another stupid payday. Maybe he will, but to me it I can't see it happening. The price to me is more to do with his age and fitness imo, if he is beat that will be the excuse if it isn't too fishy!

Completely agree...assume he is only the price he is now, because...
1 - all the big hitters dont usually play until the week of the fight itself... 2 - the fake story about him being ko'd by Zab Judah in sparring today (Which also appeared in the lead up to the Pacquiao fight) 3 - Its been confirmed they are fighting in 8oz and not 10oz gloves today (Which Floyd has fought in for most of career lest we forget) The fact still remains...Conor Mcgregor has to land punches on FM to win the fight, and seeing as this guy has made himself impossible to hit for the last 20 years by the best of the rest in his weight divisions, the price is just incredible value! I just feel a clown for steaming into the 1/5 and not holding fire  |

McGregor must have some Agents/Advisors behind the scenes and whoever negotiated the purse for this fight for both fighters must be cover boy for Forbes Magazine for the next 10 years, but with the rumoured 100m purse for each 'fighter' it wouldn't be the biggest surprise of all time if there was a CM v FM II. Therefore I don't expect an early knock-out or indeed any knock-out. Narrow points victory/split decision/draw with both fighters trying not to hit each other too hard. Just the cynic in me, wouldn't be rushing to take 1.27.

PP - 154 they fighting at...the issue with the gloves fwiw is that the Nevada commission changed the rules some years ago, saying anyone fighting 147 or above should be in 10oz gloves ...im pretty sure Floyd has had a dozen or less fights in 10oz gloves so they shouldnt cause any issues....

agree Vidou...last ko he achieved vs Ortiz 6 yrs ago, Ortiz hands were down, then u have to go back to Hatton in 08!, 2 ko in last 13 makes late stoppage by floyd when CM knackered & chasing the ko as miles down on pts, or pts decision the value play

You may have got the hundred backing 1/4 shots that you think should be 1/10 though..... As a one off of course you could lose on a 1/4 shot but that surely isn't how you look at it.

Unfortunately Vidou, im only in my mid 30s, so missed the classic eras of Hearns/Hagler/Duran/Leonard and others so cant really compare the likes of FM to the top dogs in previous eras (except for youtube videos)....
From a boxing point of view, i'd say he's the best ive seen though.... made it an art form in the fact that no one could lay a finger on him (I recall Pac man landed the princely total of 81 (jabs and power punches) the entire fight, an 8 weight world champ!) .... Yes, he was never involved in tear ups like Gatti v Ward and the likes of which were spectacular, and the questions remain about him ducking MP and others at certain stages in his career and lastly the trash talking early on in his career (imo to generate PPV tickets, as he clearly no KO artist so had to achieve PPV sales another way)... but all said and done he dominated the division and beat whoever was put in front of him .. Im just disappointed he will be remembered for equalling RM record beating a washed up Andre Berto on pts, then fighting a fella who has never fought a boxing match professionally in his final fight to break the record |

Nice to chat to an afficionado scooper, I had the pleasure of watching those fights Hearns/ Hagler/Duran and Leonard and very vaguely remember Ali after he came back from his enforced absence, probably missed his peak years but still love to watch the Frazier and Foreman scraps, Frazier v Ali trilogy probably the most savage but beautiful boxing events ever, still can't make up my mind who was the best. Mayweather best of the bunch over last 15 years, defensively probably one of the best ever but I would have loved to see Duran hunt him down and club him unconscious or SRL dance, jab and punch him into the canvas.
BTW I would say 'fortunately' you're in your mid 30's!!! |

Yes Vidou and u 2....Recall ODLH saying he had the blueprint to beat him, and yet still no one can stop the fella..Castillo arguably came closest years back in 02, but promptly got schooled in the rematch....
Re Floyd and Rematches with CM, he continually comes out with the "I want to spend time with family etc".. so cant see it myself, can see him looking to teach him a boxing lesson and collecting his money, Its his first fight at the T Mobile arena aswell, so will want to put on a show.... wouldnt be surprised if some sort of rematch is attempted but involving some sort of MMA being allowed, the dollar talks with him I guess |

The unnamed punter wanted to place an $880,000 bet on the unbeaten boxing star to beat the UFC lightweight champion later this month, but South Point Casino’s system does not permit pay-outs of greater than $1million and the winner of this bet would have seen a return of $1.04million. That led to an error in the original betting slip, with the winnings being calculated incorrectly at $120,000, but the sportsbook later rewrote the $880,000 punt as two bets of $440,000 to get around the pay-out limit. “I’m glad we got it,” South Point Casino’s sportsbook director Chris Andrews told ESPN. Yea scooper on ability its a foregone conclusion but like I said big business here I can see them both dancing backwards. Thought ODLH would have done it at one stage but defensively FM was brilliant, just think his legs might be starting to go as well

scooper I was going to the Frampton fight until it was called off, Josh Taylor looks a great propect but Shane McGuigan is his trainer, allowing a fighter to weigh in 1lb over is total negligence. Rumours are that CF and the McGuigans are history. That worries me about JT's future

Agree Roida, thats just an exercise to make sure that everyone who says pointless fight, mismatch etc & also declares they wont buy the PPV, end up doing just that
 .. lets be fair, how in gods earth did so many watch Bellew v Haye, it was based on the supposed hatred between the 2Vidou....his legs might be on the go, but still think he going to be far to0 mobile & elusive for CM, ...That video of CM "boxing", he looks like the guy having a scrap outside a local boozer at 11pm, windmilling and all sorts |

to my eye it isn't a boxing bout so the 49 zip stands, Money should be 1.01 or no offers. Don't people understand the diff between landing and evading punches against grappling, choking, bending or even kicking? There is a murky political background but if Money went for it then only a KO is on the cards.

Even if it's fixed too look competitive I can't see Mayweather allowing McGregor to land enough to get near to winning the fight.
