Th case for Pennington is looking better after drawing blanks with the other 2 runners. First run for the horse after being gelded and poets voices have a decent record after the snip. Also the horse is an ex Sheikh Hamdan so the yard must of seen something in it to keep it going as Kingsley Park runner. GL

3 year old Poets voices always seem to have a good look about them. so the money for it wasn't a surprise. I'm wondering if it will be a really slow start to the turf season. MJ was after all 2016/17 A/W champion trainer so maybe he has already used up a lot of ammunition..

Yes it looked like quite a nice horse till the stalls opened

just never at the races, i was expecting it to ping out and race up with the pace.

April was a slow old month last season dibdob and though samples are small the last few seasons are perhaps hinting that the 3yo's on turf are not a priority as the wins seem to have dropped off.

I would be surprised if the upcoming Beverley meeting wasn't seriously targeted on thursday, I've had a little look already but there are multiple entries and I'd like to see what is actually running nearer the time.

This time of year not won a race 3yo trying a new trip (1m4f first try often a big plus)

at around 5/1 in a very quiet time on turf it would have been one that could be selected.

You can't determine anything for sure but the early season turf form was largely driven by the 3yo's in the past and these appear to have cooled off somewhat.

I'm not going to post any more tables at this point but I have looked across the months for the different age groups as well as a possible slowing down in general early season, from may onwards here has been a big shift in 2yo activity with a real significant trend increase in runners and winners.

I'm not sure about that STATS 2015 actually saw more runs anyhow 425 (377 last season) but a clear rise over the last 10 years.

It's tricky hatters mate, certainly doesn't look like you should be chucking too many arrows.

But thursday is beverley/class 3/3yo and races that have been targeted in the past.

Last thursday some decent races and most ran very well

Will have another look tomorrow for Beverley as lots of multi entries still so want a clearer picture.
