Yes you just need to know when
![]() ![]() This is usually the best time of the year for the handicappers and they seem to be totally switched off. often when one goes in early, most of them run well that day. Certainly feel like a surfer consistently missing the waves this season so far. The market seems utterly clueless a lot of the time too, many shorten and run like absolute stink, for a yard that is consistently hailed as unreadable a lot seem to keep going in and get it wrong a lot of the time.

They'll certainly be on song for Goodwood, the often quiet lead up seems to have started early this year

6 handicappers today many backed in late and not one placed.
1-17 this week in what is normally one of the hottest times of the season. Seems like the 2yo's are getting precedence even further into the season ![]() Ok MJ I'm off till Goodwood you can put the plug back in and switch the mains on again ![]()

The financial damage must be hurting badly, by now - striding
Surely it would take an astronomical Goodwood for you to get anywhere near back to Square One - let alone a profit.

By:
financial damage is less than £300 Onlooker, that for me is not the annoyance.
At least at Goodwood I am more clued up this year and whether they are sent to the track in the right condition or races won't be in doubt. Seriously though his handicappers this time of the year are not usually so poor but there you go.

It's an experiment that is failing not the end of the world, I don't take to failure kindly but sometimes you have to put your hands up and admit you aren't good enough at certain things.

This is the worst ROI in weeks 28 and 29 of the year for handicappers in my DB (since BFSP 2008).
And it's coincided with comfortably the best 2yo results over the same 2 weeks of the year since BFSP Pretty sure the poor handicapping performance is not that much of a shock to the yard.

"300" ? -
I was just going of your recent table - the closing entry being ... 5/07/2017 Hamilton 6 Pennington 22.00 6.00 12 12 26l -£6.00 -£177.96 £697.00 -25.53% Showing a circa £520 Loss ... - and there barely seems to have been a Winner, and lots of Losers, in the fortnight since.

Highly Sprung one that was getting one more chance on better ground runs tomorrow
![]() Buick was up when winning CD performance last season and has fallen right down now to 4lb lower and 10lb lower than Yarmouth win. Have followed at Bath when ground was liked but the run very disappointing. Then at Hamilton last week when the ground changed through the day to contain soft in the description and despite travelling ok once asked did not pick up. Was running well earlier in season, has either completely gone for the while or is ready on better ground again and Bath was just a blip. There's quite a bit of rain about in the forecast so fast ground not likely at HQ, As I have followed this one I will be giving it one more chance given fast ground. Redcar on sunday is showing good to firm at the moment so for me would be the better option. Will have to see what happens.

Had another £250 @ 11-2 earlier with 365, sp 6-1 and they still honour BOG, so a nice start to the day Good luck all

No - not so -
Just checked in to see if you were on Suicide Watch - But pleased you have taken it well. Mind you - you need such fortitude following this contradiction of a trainer.

Looks like Rusumaat was the straw that broke the camels back as 365 have now restricted me to a £500 take out
so I've had £100 on Katebird 7.25 Bev @ 5-1, but I see another has come out since I placed the bet so there might be a 5p or 10p rule 4 - not sure. If I can get 9-2 I'll have another ton & I'll stick some in on the exchange, BSP with a limit, around a similar sort of price. I'll wait & see if I can get some 9-2 first. Good Luck all

Thought Fanning could of held onto the filly a bit longer there, bearing in mind how hold up horses have been running tonight - not that I think she would of won, looking at how the winner & runner up finished. Bloody hard to get anywhere with this racing @ the moment - especially on the exchange

What's the crack with Storm Cry Hatters after the last run? What a delightful winner that would be today at a better price
![]() Early season i was adamant this horse needs further than 6f, the issue then was settling over further. The last 2 runs have added fuel to that fire imo. The long straight at Epsom wasn't long enough to get going in time and Carlisle where you thought a stiff finish would help (selected on here), there was nothing. I still think this horse would be better suited over further at 3 now. I read through all my comments about Highly Sprung and not backing that on sunday was just criminal, I had gone out and expected to be back in time to have a look at the market and decide but the race was literally off when I got in the door, just can't be following horses like that suss them out and then miss opportunities at prices like that. Still on the naughty step for that one ![]()

Just a bad run maybe hatters, 2yo's definitely been on the up as stated last season, that's pretty much continued again this.
The dangers of what can happen when following a trainer so closely, if the wind changes you are up against it. Right back to the real niche ones in decent hcps and the ones I know plenty about lower classes (coughs...ravenhoe,highly sprung etc). Hopefully the normal Goodwood carrots are being fed again ![]()
