so what are you saying?

no riddles please

Permian is his highest rated horse

so back it every race?

what RP rating is your magic mark where they should be backed all the time?

I would be looking for a sheik 2yr old, that's entered for a group race.or 3yr old

all the sheikhs 2yo's and 3yo's that are running in group races.

you know I have the stats on the owners, it's part of the process as the sheikh's are often in a different subset regarding results.

his 2yo's show a loss of 47% in group races and permian is only the 2nd group winner in the 3yo division

Permian in a lot of ways is the exception rather than the rule, we now know for sure he stays 1m4f which was not certain before today's race.

in the 3yo+ group in group races the sheikh is 4-8 with 3 different horses making up the winners.

I'm going to chance GoNowGoNow, PJ has a good record on the 2yo's and this season is 4-7. The horse has it's stiffest test today with 6f on a more galloping track and the yard has a a fair record turning over short favs with it's runners up amongst the top 2 or 3 in betting.

It may be just a stats blip but the sheikhs 2yo's have been very strong usually in this week of the year (usually the week after Ascot) but his runners stats wise with Ascot going on have been very poor this week at other tracks.

Also Sheikh snr responsible for the fav in the 2:10 novice contest at HQ. Wouldn't surprise to see this well bred debutante Cape Bunting run a big race but can't back anything with confidence, certainly not a newcomer. Was thinking about backing both debutantes today (King Proctor sole runner at Haydock later) but happy to sit out today at the prices of the runners.

Am pretty sure the yard will wake up with a bang next week, too many of the shorter prices have run badly this week.

No nursery runner lto (0-13, 1 placed avg odds 8.31) has won on return to action in a 3yo+ hcp the following season only 2 winners have tried like HAH and both been unplaced.

VOR was giving plenty there but no room at the inn with persistent challenge just couldn't get out then PJ accepted it imo. Probably will be found a race soon.

Highly Sprung

Been flagged up today as being right in the zone now ready to strike for the season either in a 4yo+ or 3yo+ event, a switch to the latter would not surprise if today is not the day.

For me hasn't done a great deal wrong on it's journey down (now 4lb lower than that win) from a mark that made him uncompetitive bolting up in a Yarmouth race that looked a bit strange at the time and hasn't really worked out since. Optimum has definitely been a decent pace at 6f on fast ground which sees a record of 4-9 on turf.Four of his efforts this term have been over the 5f which he finds unfolding a bit too quick but 2 very respectable efforts on the aw and for me plenty left in the tank at the business end at Musselburgh lto over this trip suggest his turn will not be far away certainly given optimum conditions (1/2 furlong short today but hopefully finish here will suit).

Respect Saunders at the track and Kirby booked for his runner who keeps going up for not winning some better races and the Ron Harris charge is open to plenty of improvement but Highly Sprung is one to start having an interest in this season.

If it's weak in betting nearer the event will probably adjust stakes, this one we know plenty about and i find market a better guide than any less exposed at conditions.

Will stick to the usual staking, this is one I'd be annoyed not to recoup on somewhere soon if tonight isn't the night.

8:00 Bath Highly Sprung
