Well left. Surprised to see MJ have 2 runners in a race like that.

Alexander M, the dreaded class 5 3yo hcp in june group (3-87, 12 expected).

Richard Oliver is 2/3 in apprentice races for yard though and this horse is consistent including when touched off for us on the thread earlier in season.

Perhaps a return here could suit tonight

will play 1/2 stakes

Giving Berengaria another chance this evening. First couple of runs last term including fine GG effort have worked out pretty well and return effort was decent on testing ground at Donny.Yard does well in this sort of contest and obviously likes being in the winners here, Thought this was one of the Sheikh's potential improvers up in trip this season and though Simcock's is respected again I'm hoping Berengaria  could be on it's way to some decent class 2 contests this season.

around 9/2+ seems pretty fair to me.

No great shakes so far, certainly had no returns from the lower class horses with iffy profiles springing into life. We will soon be in a period where I'd expect there to be a spike for the yard's runners, a lot of the big profile handicap groups will start to have their best associated figures and it goes without saying this thread needs to be in the winners (hopefully a few at juicy prices) through this spell to get in front.

Today's runner has some strong profile traits at this time of the year.

WG grace was green on debut didn't really seem to run forward when pushed, some leg changes and little coordination (unlike many of the 5f debutantes). Part of the strong traits mentioned were once raced 2yo's at this time of the year in races where there is little form in the book but the principles have run.

This sort of race and a lofty market position has seen strong results and profit but for me I'd rather usually have seen more natural speed on debut (even if btn a fair way at the post). Either this or a total green baby that looked to be getting the hang of things later in the run.

This one really fits into neither category. It's one of the literal profiles being strong vs individual horse not really fitting the normal mould.Perhaps this race is just pretty weak and it turns out to be a good placement but It's one I'm going to pass on, if it wins I'll be more prone to take the profile results as more important in future with this type.

The once raced prominent in mkt 2yo in june already hit the board today Hatters, I'd be worried about the market weakness with this sort.

Haven't watched it's debut back yet and don't remember it will do that before this evening's meeting.

Franny and MJ small field class 4's in this age of hcp are very strong, have been wondering whether to have a go at Specialist this evening.

This is the worst week statistically of the whole year for the 3yo handicappers and june in general sticks out as a poor month overall for this age group hcp.

Have probably taken a few too many leaps of faith to this point and though this is a class dropper that goes back up in trip I'm not sure the other positives outweight the last run and negatives mentioned Cry

Will wait for the more obvious types just around the corner but probably won't enjoy watching this race Laugh

I've only got 1 real angle for unraced 2yo's that is now 9-19, unfortunately that wasn't one.

He hasn't been a magic sign to back them on all known evidence available but perhaps with less rides for yard now that may become more significant.

Storm Cry IF settling should be very competitive here has tasted better class and off this mark could hopefully have to much for them.

Of course this is in the much bemoaned 3yo only group of handicappers for june which is weak.Franny overall has decent figs in this sort of race here though he is not immune from the [ppr june stats (actually yet to place in this month).

But It's been quite well supported behind the race fav and that has been a good sign in this sort of class during this weak spell.

Assiduous would have been a bit interesting with yard strong in this classification of mdn over today's trip and further in first couple of races of career (hit at nearly twice the expected market rate).

Wondered why week 24 would be some sort of magic dividing line in the season, then the penny dropped that this is usually the week that houses Royal Ascot, this year the event is actually a week further into the season. The differences between a lot of the profile groups before and after this big meeting are looking pretty stark in a lot of cases.

I have not really played the 2yo's again this season but certainly would be confident of a few angles next season, at least up until July.

I have notebooked a number of the recent runners as getting into their full stride in the next run or 2 and after the royal meeting the action on here will certainly increase, the few weeks following Ascot are going to be very important to hit some decent winners.

Today the usual saturday armada.

Poets Society has had plenty of racing and looks really up against it on the face of it in this sort of company. Still yet to win on turf from 12 attempts and yet to score at this level. There are some pluses, firstly not too many no hopers in the 3yo division are tried for this sort of prize money and the Sheikh has had a decent return with his runners when doing so. Not winning in the class has not been an issue neither has being raised in class for not winning lto. This horse has only had 2 races on turf over 6f so has at least an element of not being exposed despite all the experience.Mullen has yet to land a race like this for the yard but has several frame efforts from a small sample and jocks such as Liam Jones and Ted Durcan have landed big prizes for the Sheikh so today's booking may not be a negative.

There is still the niggle with the poets voice 3yo's for the yard not being so effective as at 2 so far but I think this one will have further opportunities to recoup in the season and should have plenty of early here at least on this track.

Comedy School another representative of the Sheikh today, this one is less exposed in a race that has seen him represented twice in recent years hitting the runners up spot on both occasions with torchlighter and salutation. I wouldn't be surprised to see a much better effort today over this sort of trip on the fastest ground encountered to date in career (certainly over all a plus with sire's progeny). It looked pretty likely that 12f was just too far lto and previously 7f had looked too sharp so you'd think 9 or 10f could be optimum at this stage. Plenty of the yard's runners in this sort of class are given a number of runs in the season before fully hitting their stride and there is a chance this may still be in that category but at the price I'm willing to have a small play to find out today.

3:30 York Poets Society win (£5), current odds 30.0
3:30 York Poets Society plc (£5), current odds 6.0

4:25 Sandown Comedy School, current odds 20.0

I am considering Valley Of Rocks but it certainly hasn't been doing itself any favours with it's keen running style this season so far.
