MODERATION is the word
the belly sizes of the usa and now this country are suggesting moderation went out of the window decades ago |
|
By:
The problem is people think moderation means trans fats in moderation is ok, sugar in moderation is ok and of course it is not

The odd bit of junk food, and i mean a small bag of crisps or 1 bar of chocolate a week in a diet rich in many fruits and vegetables and a diet high in processed meats.
what do you think a study would show on this IF you could filter out every other factor that may cause serious illness? |

If a food stuff has been shown to be detrimental to health why try and negotiate some sort of minimum level that you THINK might not effect you. As I constantly say to friends, replace one set of delicious food that causes cancer and heart disease with another set of delicious food that promotes health.

Funnily enough part of our problem is soil related and food production but I will leave Carla to run that by you .... adios for now

I'm just saying there are man many foods that are supposed to be bad.
I have never heard anywhere about bread being linked to heart disease in the western world but countless studies on other foods. |

Eat less carbs and replace them with butter and cheese, the 1948 farmingham report led to the overweight society in the usa which is just starting to boom in uk now.

You can't live forever no matter what you do in life! What makes me laugh most is when I'm in a traffic jam and you see joggers running on the pavements, lungs working overtime breathing the deepest you will ever breath getting those car fumes deep inside the lungs SadSadSad
very true thought it was just me who thought that I see and think this everyday |

I pity the poor kids that get this terrible disease - how do you quantify their "lifestyles" as to why they get this - cant blame the drink, smokes or diet on them can you.
Can only speak as i find but as someone who is currently still battling with bowel cancer and its after effects i will happily hold my hands up and say ive eaten too many bacon sandwiches in my time and yes ive probably had too much to drink when ive gone out on a weekend wiv my mates - ffs we probably got close to our weekly limits drinking whilst we were getting ready lol but you just cant win cos if you eat your 5 a day fruit wise at least then you get too much sugar in your system wtf lol . And as for Macmillan they have been nothing short of amazing and inspirational to me but hey ho Germanys just scored so little rant over ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

no need to be sorry fatlad - it is what it is and they reckon its likely that 1 in 2or3 people will suffer from the big c at some time in their life - my missus was diagnosed wiv breast cancer probs about 4-5 mths b4 me and yet shes never smoked in her life,is a lightweight drinker and eats minimal meat - a Sunday roast and the odd Indian/Chinese when we go out - i just wanted to give a balanced opinion to some of the posts on here most of which are based on heresay

By:
I can just imagine the fat bastuds chewing on their fcuking bacon sarnies wobbling their chins in disapproval at the joggers
|
|
By:
I think you are failing to realise just how bad and how deep the problems go with our western diet. Its not just a case of how many bacon butties you have had. I spoke to a heart attack patient today and he said he could not understand it as he never ate burgers. Where do you start to explain ?. With regard to you bowel cancer you can fight this if you are willing to get radical with your diet

to say that diseases or conditions are not hereditary is totally wrong in my opinion heart disease is rife on my fathers side of the family with most of the males dying from it before they reached 50 I had a heart attack at 38, even with a relatively healthy lifestyle was young, I take statins and have done for over a decade, my cholesterol has dropped from 11 to below 3, I don't believe I could have achieved this by diet alone, from a family of 5 three of us have had a heart attack and three of us have had a cancer, I regulary give to cancer research and macmillans, who I believe provide an invaluable service and will continue to do so, I have 22 items on my prescription that I use each month, and I believe they have/are keeping me alive, everyone to their own though I suppose
