Tens of thousands of people outside the City have lost their traditional jobs in steel, shipbuilding, textiles and fishing, etc because of the EU restricting our government from supporting those industries. Those who voted for Brexit couldn't give a flying toss about the city fretters worrying about it.

Whichever way you voted, the post by millhouse at 13.11 is well written

Yeah because tory governments love pumping money into failing industries. FOR FUX SAKE.

By:
TT bruv,
do ye now expect all those workers to get their jobs back? When do ye expect this to occur? Do ye realise that the big Global Capitalist companies are still running the world? |
|
By:
going to take years to sort out.....there was a lot of protest voting going on during the referendum because a large number of peoples lives had flat lined or got worse since austerity was introduced.some people actually thought the change was going to be almost immediate...ie the mythical 350 million to the nhs, immigartion controls etc......going to take years.
|
|
By:
millhouse,
yes, there is volatility from which a few rich folk profit, but most do not. Also, ye are correct to point out the negative elements of this silly referendum. However, the trigger has not yet been pulled; the protagonists now seem to lack the resolve to even set the ball rolling. If and when they pluck enough dutch courage, the whole process will take many years to sort. Btw, what were the official figures for immigration on so-called "Independence Day"? I expect a surge in numbers, ie more folk coming in. |
|
By:
Sean Rua, many of the policies put forward by the EU are to do with protecting workers from the evils of capitalism, not that the 'hard of understanding' will grasp that.

23,
yes, this is the problem with pandering to the lowest common denominator. I'm a believer in revolution, but, anybody can tell us that when the lunatics take over the asylum, the doctors are fkd. No military High Command ever takes orders and decisions from any old tom dick and harry or committee. As it is, the big global capitalist companies will continue unabated. On the other hand, we in the working class will continue to get nowhere. Much ado about nothing. We need a new system. Then real change can occur. |

Will immigration reduce? Probably not. Will the NHS have an extra 350 million per week? No. Yes, lies from both sides, but these were the two main reasons for leave voters and already both have been binned. Leavers have no idea what they voted for, as they have no idea who the Prime Minister will be and which route to exit he/she will take. A cry of disillusionment but what an expensive cry it will be for those at the bottom of the pile Absolutely correct ! |
|
By:
Facts,
by now ye should realise that few folk actually want the facts. Btw, do ye know the official figures for Immigration into GB on """Independence Day""" 23 June 2016, ? |
|
By:
They don't release figures like this the day after, how the fcuk could they know that?
|
|

1.11 post by millhouse woefully out of touch with the reality of todays working demographic.the myth that these people are only taking the 5h1t jobs is way off the truth

Absolutely correct. And the saddest thing of all is that they were told the consequences first. Doesn't matter, though, because with no people coming into the UK, those fat, educated, knuckle-dragging, lumps of lard who have been brought up to believe they are entitled to everything while contributing nothing, can all become Doctors! The other irony is that if, for example, Nissan happen to pull out of Sunderland, the idiot Out voters from that city (who have just chucked away millions in EU aid) will want the UK government to help them out. In affect, a Leave vote could put Boris into no. 10. F*ck me, him and Trump, there's a Win double. Let's hope that scenario leads only to a rush of middle-aged men, probably in trainers and heavily covered in tatoos, trying for stupid hairstyles. I doubt we will be that lucky though. All this madness, unleashed upon us for no good reason, can be summed up as: 'Well, I never though the tiger would rip off MY face' sobbed the woman who had just joined the Tiger Ripping Off Face Society. In 56 years, I have never wanted us to go back to the turmoil of the 1970's but it appears 17 million want to. Desperate. |

Fk all will change much for years. The recession and "austerity" will bite a bit harder; immigration will pobably rise, and we'll keep on whinging till we peg out. Simmer down to a panic. |

Maybe there wouldn't be so many "useless classes" if everyone had the chance of a decent education that consisted of our own language being taught? Posy have you lost a few quid in some shares? You seem more bitter by each post on here, and if nobody has the same view as you they are wrong.
I would guess that in a few years time if times are better for the UK you would still say everyone who voted out were still wrong. |

Huge shock coming to white working class brexit voters
Why is that, do you think that non white working class Brexit voters were fully aware that they were voting for Armageddon and still voted to leave? By the way - how do you make those who've got f'all any worse off? |
|
By:
magic i'm sad not bitter and yes i've 'lost' some money on the stock market but that has little if anything to do with my posts. I do admit I think people who have significantly differing views from mine probably don't understand the realities of the situation.

The business secretary on Marr today, who was on the remain side, wouldn't endorse any of the doom and gloom predictions made by his Chancellor, the Treasury or anyone else from the remain team.
Which sums up the scare campaign for what it was. A pack of lies. Those who believed the predictions were all led up the garden path. |

Hopefully IDS will ensure they're neutered and spaded at the same time.
Not sure they deserve being spaded?? |

we were promised £350 million per week for the nhs which has already been retracted - who was telling the lies

crippen i've read your posts in the past and think i've generally thought you a sensible person and would expect you to be able to answer your own questions...surely you'll accept that those with f'all live on generous benefit payments.Reduce those and they'll be worse off.

How could anyone outside of the government, promise £350 million per week for anything when they're not even in government or up for election?
I understood that it was said that £350 would be available and could be spent on the NHS. Supply a link if you disagree. |
|
By:
The scare mongering from the remain side is a matter of fact.
And a lot of it was issued by government institutions in a very official form. Not throw away comments from individuals in heated unguarded moments. |
|
By:
the battle bus with the advertisement was quite specific on the money supposedly available and on what it would be spent
as for unguarded comments you shouldn't be saying things if you cannot back them up with factual evidence - that applies equally to both sides of course some of the leavers are in government so presumably knew the nhs statement was a lie |
|
By:
the battle bus with the advertisement was quite specific on the money supposedly available and on what it would be spent
They weren't in a position to direct spending, they're not the government. |

How could anyone outside of the government, promise £350 million per week for anything when they're not even in government or up for election? Exactly, anyone taking that as a promise is a fool or a journo. |
