No danger of me going off on one. This afternoon we and some friends are taking a group of Syrian orphans who are staying here for free on a long walk followed by a swim. Doubtless this will be ridiculed or joked about but whatever.
Please feel free to continue to doubt my honesty and integrity and I will continue to disprove you. Also it would be great if you offered something constructive and interesting on trading, that was the point of the thread. it would be great to increase pre race liquidity. For what its worth I still doubt that JS did get the trip, what he did do was maintain a gallop that others failed to. We owned a horse who barely got 2 miles and after 2 years of frustration sold him and he went on to win over 2.5 at Fakenham. I spoke to the trainer later and he said he simply crawled home on near empty! |

Does a lot of work for charidee - doesn't like to talk about it (nap).

while i applaud you for what you do for charity, what exactly has that got to do with the thread.
Also it would be great if you offered something constructive and interesting on trading, that was the point of the thread like i said earlier, nothing was mentioned about trading until the first one won. |

I think what it means is I have better things to do.

By:
and on the other point?
By:
Perhaps if you had had better things to do on the day you started this thread none of this would have happened.

1st time poster(delta)...........was you a school bully??
By:
Having layed JS between 2.7 and 3 it was slow to drift but after highlighting that the Yarmouth 7 furlong vole was having a second spin over hurdles there were plenty prepared to push it out. There was a degree of ramping but did I seriously believe it would push the price out, no, not at all.

By:
Aftertimer, fantasist and now self confessed ramper! He only needs to download some dodgy porn for the full set imo....

Looks like it ran as expected, head in the air and finished tamely again. Poorly handicapped and will struggle to win novice chases from now on. Shame about the trade but profit is profit.

Help yourself to my charitable price on Akdam, its there on the screen from Now We Know Nothing!
By:
Layed Akdam @3.55 4.35 Perth.
Clearly he can win this and might well do so but he has failed to carry the penalty several times already. His jumping is not great and although I feel he will drift pre race, looks like he is as I post, there should be some scope in running if he hits a similar flat spot to his Stratford run. Not sure how competitive the race is so happy to get close to green pre race. GL to all. |
By:
The drift continues and interesting to see how he goes. Think he may get quite big and still nick it. Decent position whatever.
By:
Marginally better if he won but a modest winning trade.

By:
Laid Formal Bid @5.3 5.05 Perth
Going against this combination at Perth may not prove wise but there are decent reasons for making this a workable trade. There is always a GE factor in the price so on that alone there could be some pre race drift. His mark today with a 7 pound penalty makes this really tough and carrying over 12 stone in a handicap speaks for itself. I think he needs to improve to win this. The style of running could give something in running as he looked to travel only ok from half way in the claimer yesterday and was flat out to hold on. The race itself is fairly competitive with some clear dangers and as ever with handicaps something might be hitting a winning mark! Gl all. |
By:
Not totally surprised by the drift but the speed has been amazing. Just hope they run the fellow.
By:
Shame NR, thought that might happen.

Place Laid Jonnie Skull @ between 4.4 and 4.6 still some there if you care to take it. 8.40 Wolverhampton.
Well he we go on what should be a decent trade. Still cant really reconcile the Stratford hurdle win but not sure what relevance it has to the race tonight which has a very open and competitive look. There are plenty of proven stayers in the line up and on the face of it the gallop should be decent. The only concern on that bit is what JS does. I cant see him being allowed to dictate a dawdle gallop after Stratford and can see him fighting if held up so that should be interesting. The pre race drift should come as my feeling is there will be plenty of sceptical layers prepared to say he wont go this distance as it is not comparable with 2 miles round Stratford and pretty confident a modest green is achievable. GL all. |

By:
shirley you will be right tonight..

It matters not as nice green but yes I would still like to be right!

about 330ish total matched between 4.4 to 4.6 fwiw..

Totally baffled by Stratford, did they check the passport!!!!
That race was about as bizarre as I have seen but he continues to confuse. |
By:
Layed Amuse Me @4.9 3.20 Market Rasen
This fellow is at best unpredictable and not one you would expect to be sure of running 2 decent races in sequence. The race is competitive and sure to be run pretty quick with O Crotaigh leading things which might get Amuse Me having to do things quicker than his last run. The mark of 115 looks pretty tough so a chance of a pre race drift looks strong and a little saved for IR as he is pretty moody. Yes he can win but happy to do the trade for a modest green. |
By:
It helps if you get a half point drift before you post too doesn't it?

By:
Happy to post the trade.
By:
Merely pointing out the futility of this thread (once it changed tack from its peerless beginning). What is the point? What are you hoping to achieve? You could put anything - find a drifter and say you layed it early, lay a winner and say you got out in running, anything. It's utterly pointless.
By:
now....do you only lay 1 a day.........i found when i tried trading i would lay only one but it would totally consume my day
By:
No, I look for likely drifters and manage the positions as I am lucky enough to have the time and use keep bets. Generally leave flat turf racing with some exceptions. The success rate of the trades is very high but the gains are often really small, spent ages yesterday trying to lay Sagredo @4.9 and had a tiny bit matched and made 54p on the trade! It drifted big time after which was painful.
The negative side is despite being pretty good at spotting the drifters my commission rate stays high due to the nature of the trades and low risk strategy and the poor early liquidity which is stopping me putting up bigger amounts. It would be good to have more input on the thread and any trading suggestions would be good as you gain knowledge by listening when you would prefer to be talking! ![]() |

Ran to type and dogged it. Looks like he will struggle off this mark but the odds will probably spot on next time.

Well that's it for a while as demain we start our little tour of Spain. Taking in the tapas bars in San Sebastian, down to Sevilla, Real Madrid in Valencia next Saturday and finishing in Benidorm for some Brit fun.
To my forum friend gerard I apologise for being the absolute, total no knowledge, after timing fantasist that has wasted some of your time on the planet. Maybe by the end of the NH season we will be forum buddies, who knows Iran and the USA are talking. Gl all. |
