|
|
By:
Yep.
Place lay |
|
By:
I don't think it can be done either
![]() With most lays, you are theoretically backing odds on every race. |

Delta, I have been trying my hardest laying only on the purple site since 1st Jan this year
got 750 to the good had a shocker two weeks ago and am at this moment after trying my hardest about 380 to the good, as you rightly said I now agree it cannot be done. |

do you have software and fast pics beard?

Its the price your laying @ that's critical.

By:
Thanks for the replies.
A few years ago I would pick one short price a day( under 3-1) but could not help getting greedy and trying to find another of course it ended in disaster. Recently I have started laying for smaller stakes at bigger odds upto 8-1. At the moment it is going ok but I fear a couple of winners and profit has gone. |

Only lay above 20s

used to go to exchange shop but now just use betfair live and ruk----have always made money by laying horses at what i believe to be the wrong price.ie lay evens something you think should be 2/1 or 10/1 something you think should be 20s.
|
|
By:
very fine margins and not easy and you certainly can't afford many mistakes.
|
|
By:
in addition i lay plenty of winners but overall have made a good living for those 8 years
|
|
By:
Yes it can be done but the majority of punters even if told how wouldn't be able to do it for any number or reasons, such as not having a big enough bank to start with, not having money exclusively used to do it and kept separate from their everyday money, not having the b@lls and being psychologically able to deal with setbacks but most likely of all, not having the discipline and patience to do only what they are told works.

i started with 200 quid
|
|
By:
if you lay more than one per race and the combined %s add up to more than say 66%
then the possibility exists that the backers (as an entity) are overbroke and can only lose (over a number of such races) |
|
By:
I lay 6th favs and find i do best in races with 5 or less runners
|
|
By:
obv the number of unlaid horses has to exceed the number laid
|

Lay 100.0 + shots x 20 eveyday

any of them won yet Bush?

In my case you have accept the odd £1000 hit , but you should expect that.
Carry on so long as the month shows a profit, big or small. |
|
By:
good luck with it m8
I used to do it but the gut wrenching got to me one day when one went in and I gave it up. Might go back to it one day when I have more time to study form. |

Golden Rule of Laying: if it can go wrong, it will go wrong
you have to be very careful, not leave up any lays and forget about them...and dont get your colours mixed up ...i once laid a horse that was in yellow and black with number 3 clearly visible on the saddlecloth and double checked that clours and number matched....turned out horse i was watching was no 13 (the '1' was obscured) and of course number 3 (in virtually identical colours) comes zooming from the back to pi$$ up |
|
By:
rothman on average, how many hits would you expect in a typical month, and do you lay them all for a tenner
|
|
By:
average about 1 per month.
try for £60 per day but sometimes get more. Depends on how long I work. Sometimes Sa in am, then British, then US from 6pm, and even Aus from 2am. Depends if I'm on a retrieval mission sometimes |
|
By:
1 biggy that is , get 5 or 6 under £200 also
|

its easier to find a loser than back a winner

Golden Rule of Laying: if it can go wrong, it will go wrong
What a load of shyte . Do plenty of research ----- find an edge - stick to it religiously .. |
|
By:
If you back a horses at around evens to around 5/1 everyday you will lose in the long run.If you lay those same horses you should win in the long run.But you must have discipline that's the difficult part.

^^^^^
staking plan is probably just as equally important as the selections . 5-7% PROFIT on turnover is very good indeed . But i feel the average punter would think that winning 15 quid for a risk of 300 quid is a waste of time - thats why 98% fail imo |
