When: 23 Dec 12 09:11
Wetherby: "36mm rain between Wednesday night and Friday morning.
Dry 24hrs on Friday. 15mm rain on Saturday.
Sunday is forecast to be dry, sunny and windy. Monday onwards
has conflicting forecasts with some reporting further dry days
and others forecasts predicting further rainfall.

Inspections
Further update to be issued Sunday morning regarding any
inspections.

Other
The back straight remains heavily waterlogged in places, and
there has been with little progress since yesterday, but it
rained for most of Saturday. Hopefully a dry 24+ hours from
Sunday will see further reduction of the waterlogged areas."

BOXING DAY RACING ABANDONED

An inspection was carried out at 12pm today, and unfortunately our Boxing Day meeting has been abandoned. This is due to flooding, with no sign of improvement and more rain forecast in the coming days.

REFUNDS: All pre-purchased tickets will be refunded within the next 7 working days. If you have a Hospitality or Restaurant booking we will be contacting you to discuss whether you would like a full refund or to move your booking to an alternative fixture for 2013.

Should any advance bookers wish to attend Market Rasen’s fixture on Boxing Day, in addition to the automatic Huntingdon refund that will be processed in the next seven working days, they will be offered the concession admission rates of £21 (County), £14 (Tattersalls) and £10 (Family) on production of either their Huntingdon Boxing Day ticket or proof of purchase.

ANNUAL MEMBERS: Huntingdon Racecourse’s annual members, who are already being given complimentary admission to Kempton Park on Thursday when the re-scheduled William Hill Levy Board Peterborough Chase will be run, will be admitted free of charge at Market Rasen Racecourse’s Boxing Day meeting on production of their annual badges.

It reminds me of that time a few years ago when the ebor meeting was rained off,you kept expecting a break in it but it just went on and on,cest la vie although a little frustrating as earlier today they were saying it would be dry in our neck of the woods for the next 3 days.

i remember it well i backed it to be on the first day it wasnt, so i backed it to be on the 2nd as i was certain they would try to get it on but it wasnt, so i did my money in (and not to you for a change) without even getting to the races.

Happy christmas and have great new year see you in may Ronnie

Wetherby now inspect 8.30am on Boxing Day, not at all helpful for planning things!
By:

When: 24 Dec 12 10:05
its a hard one intheknow they need to give it every chance but as you say it doesnt help planning.

however those who can only bet at wetherby could well end up having a right touch.
By:

When: 24 Dec 12 10:13
light rain now in leeds and likely to continue throughout the afternoon. I think the only touch they are likely to have is that they won't get stuck in the muddy car park Sad

Just been and had a look, thought he was sure to call it off as still a few pools of water and has just started raining but credit to him for giving it every chance, obviously suits me and what is there to lose on their biggest day of the year?
Although i fear a few 1st preferences may become 2nd preferences and the card might be pretty dissapointing if it does beat the odds, still a lot bloody better than sitting at home and don't forget if it does deteriorate he can always bring it forward.

Unfortunately the wind has dropped,no wind at all this morning. If the wind had kept blowing for the next two days I'd have been a lot more optomistic.I feel we'll need the wind to dry the place up.On a positive note I believe we are only forecast for 3 hrs rain so at least if that forecast is right it mightn't make the ground much worse.Still fingers crossed.
