Did you buy a motivational CD yet Ryan?
I like a little bet on Walk on water in the 3.20.Thought she was very keen last day and maybe she used up a bit of energy trying to settle. If she settles then she might well play a part and at 12/1 I think its a nice price.IMO |

Replies: 274 28 May 10 23:26 Sir Michael Stoute has a good record with his older horses, especially fillies. Since 2003, he is 21-38 with his 4-y-os returning to the track after a winter break. His tally with fillies is 7-12. Tomorrow Rosika runs in the 3.00 Haydock. This is SMS's first 4-y-o filly ( colts 2 from 2 )runner coming back after a winter break to run at Haydock in May since 2003. Rosika was an improving filly last year ending the year running 2nd to Baila Me. On the form book that is unlikely to be good enough to beat Barshiba who has done well at 12f winning a Group 2 here last year, and she won well last time out, but the stable has been in the doldrums apart from her recently. Becqu Adoree ran well behind Dar Re Mi in the Prix Vermeille and has her first start for Cumani who does well with horses coming from another stable having their first run for him. Polly's Mark also improved last year and began this year with a sound 4th to Harbinger - the first three all won next time out in Group 3, Group 2 and Listed contests. This is a big ask for Rosika, but Stoute has a habit with getting substantial improvement out of fillies, and unless the heavens open she has a chance. When I first looked at the 4.15 Beverley I expected to be losing on Look Busy who has been missing the break. But she finished as close as could be expected behind Kingsgate Native last week, and should be able to act on the fast going, maybe better if the heavens open. The weights are in her favour, and the opposition has a lot of negatives with Masta Plasta not winning since October 2008 and seems to be held by Look Busy. Kaldoun Kingdom has won three good handicaps over 6f, but is yet to win over 5f. Fullandby is only 2 from 21 over 5f. Fitz Flyer's only win came over 5f on the fibresand when it was slow. and Tombi has not won for 2 years. So it seems it is Look Busy by default. Catterick 3.25 Hajoum has his second start for Mark Johnston after leaving Godolphin. He was backed into favourite on his first start maybe because Johnston does very well with horses coming to him from other stables. Frankie Dettori was not hard on him last week when 5th over 5f as things seemed to happen a bit quick for him early on. The stable has hit form with a double yesterday and a four timer on Wednesday. Hajoum is stepped up in trip tomorrow and must have a solid chance of improving the trainers record at Catterick where well done wdw [:D] |
