I just wondered if trainer had given a recent quote given his good recent form.

At 16/1 he might be worth the risk of an ante-post bet regardless. I wouldn't expect AP McCoy to make the weight though so interesting who rides.

I know the 3m race at Ascot was mooted in OJA, but we know JP and he'd rather step up for the festival rather than at the beginning of the season. Pendra is bred for further than 3 miles so he has scope to improve if he goes close in PP or Dec h/c.
AP can do 10-4 and based on last two years Pendra would be 10-3 so we'll see who is top weight this term. Especially if Jonjo / JP can control top weight with Uxizandre or Taquin Du Seuil. But a claimer could get the ride and keep up with the pace as the horse stays well and if he's off under 10 stone he could be keen to make stamina the test. I'll back him in the handicaps this season anyway until I get a pay day. I'm sure he'll oblige at some point. |

He's been cut by 4 bookies @ 10:28 today. We move markets Sint
![]() I'll take a bit more 16/1 before it's gone |
By:
Pendra a decent back to lay but yet to win over more than 2m1f and I have my doubts about his attitude, especially up the hill. Might trade pretty short between the last two fences though so don't let me put anyone off.

is wishful thinking going for this race, gents?
By:
Won off 162 in the Roan so very unlikely.
Even if he did Deckie would front run him at a stupid pace. |
By:
Anyone think Vukovar could be a likely for this ? And do we still think a high class renewal ?? Entries out Tuesday right ?
By:
Johns Spirit won the PP last year after winning previously at Cheltenham. Has won the same race this year, and must be fancied for a repeat in the big one.Has a lot going for him imo.
By:
Agree, might be the main reason for the stable aiming TDS at the charlie hall.
By:
Double Ross has sure to go close if he runs in this trainer targets race and got to be in mix
By:
sorry i didnt mean w thinking i meant wonderful charm....
By:
im not sure double ross is sure to go close after last time
By:
Got brought down from what I remember twisters horses are in lot better form he's a bull of a horse and would of prob needed the run I'm willing to ignore it as if Tarquin doesn't run he has top form and at the track just think he's a big price
By:
good luck slash wonder who will be top weight
By:
Cheers howdi I think the race will cut up I can see john spirit ,taquin simonising an djakaddam all missing this race for other targets an prob be oscar what u think

Pipe usually as one lined up for this and is a race he usually targets. He must be considering Gevrey Chambertain for this. Rated 139 so will get in off a nice low weight and having a confidence boosting win lto at Bangor when not fully wound up. Available at 33/1. Too early for a proper bet though! |

ooops
I,ll be following GC with interest this season but don't think Cheltenham is his ideal track, the other pipe horse ballynagour is the one that interests me for this, the only worry is if its a going day or not on his day he is top notch imo |
By:
wouldnt surprise me slash
By:
Easter Meteor is the Pipe nap for this one I strongly suspect. BNgour is handicapped out of it IMO. I also think Eduard could p1ss up in this to be honest BUT Nicky may run him at Carlisle ..
By:
I FANCY EDUARD
By:
no doubt the the trustworthy stable wont even bother to enter TDS
By:
allged22 - Gevrey has been backed for buttons recently, anyone else notice this ? He quickened very impressively last time out BUT the thing is his jumping, I really get put off by his lack of ability in jumping ...
By:
I agree harchi vukovar is interesting have him short listed with pendra and present view
By:
Pendra conspicuous by his absence from the entries for the Ascot race this coming w/e which was mooted as a target by his trainer...
By:
^ mooted as a potential target to be completely accurate and fair...
By:
as normal looks a sod of a race to pick the winner.
By:
"I'm delighted with how he has done since and he'll probably return in the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter next Tuesday. Clearly there will be some very useful opposition so we know it won't be an easy task.
Quote from Harry Fry regarding Vukovar, so go steady backing him for Patrick Power. |
By:
cheers
By:
nice work on spotting Pendra's 'missing' entry chaps. Eduard entered at Carlisle in the novices chase 2nd November I think it is ...
By:
Gevrey is also entered up at Ascot in the United House ...
By:
ok I've backed PENDRA for this. Took the last of the 14's ... gets 4/5lbs off Present View and probably gets AP too let's hope.
By:
The sponsors have removed a few horses from their list including Pendra.ominous.
By:
I have backed two runners myself:
Firstly Uxizandrea at 12/1. Thought he ran an ideal prep for this last week. Blew the cobwebs away nicely, and should help him get a slightly better mark... sure that wasnt in connections' mind at all Has shown he likes the track.Johns Spirit at 10/1. Has gone up a fair bit since last year, but was really impressed with his recent win. Clearly loves this time of year, and the track, and they are two big positives for me. Fell sure he will run his race and looks a pretty solid e/w option. |
By:
Just knew I should I have waited on Pendra. Charlie Longsdon no previous for putting people away, not that I am aware of anyway.
By:
Is he definitely not running then ? quickest X hundred quid I've ever done ante post total c0ck up
By:
Not sure, was going by the thread and my instinct said to wait on this one before betting, we'll see!
By:
what other motive could pp have for not quoting these ?
By:
So look if we're assuming (and we are assuming, same as we assumed Pendra will run here on the back of his Ascot no show) that Paddy Power aren't quoting non entrants then this leaves only 16 in the race per their market. Is that right ? 16 Entries only ? Now I know for a fact that Wonderful Charm won't run, and Taquin De Sueil is very doubtful. So that leaves 14 entries. Are we sure ? Are we so sure Pendra not going for it ? Must have met with a setback then ...
By:
Its nt the fact they are nt quoting him thats worrying - its the fact he was in and they have removed him from their betting along with others - (entries out today but nt to public till tomorrow)
Staggering if they dont aim him here |
