Backed Arod to beat TGG in a match at 6/5. Think TGG has reached ceiling of ability whereas Arod hasn't. impressive in french derby yes, but form is rancid for me.

bit of a lottery in that market Wicketd ... other than 1st or 2nd neither jockey would give a monkeys what position they finished, fwiw TGG is a better horse on my ratings than Arod but faster ground may swing it in your favour .... gl

Mukhadram to win

I just think Arod has more potential and when they last met he was still a baby. He was v professional lto, taking through the race and never coming off the bit to dispatch inferiors. a strong pace will suit him and 1m2f is his trip.

yep, wd winners - did n't look like he had a race, would love to see him race the filly over 12f.

Admirable run by TGG, some pretty good 3yos around...

certainly looks like the older horses were cooked after the george judged by that

Well done Australia backers. Mukhadram obviously below par but the winner did it nicely.

amuses me Ryan saying Hughes got off and said: 'this horse will get a mile and a half, no problem'.

distinctly remember Ryan Moore saying: 'this is as far as he wants to go' adamantly when asked by Emma after the Dante...

Would not have won anyway but Mukhadram lost all chance pulling early on.

So much speed according to connections (best trip 1m-10f) - take on Kingman in the QE2 and prove it, I dare you.Devil

Bit of common sense from Figgis. Can't believe what these people on the TV say. The older horses were left overs from last season how clownform rate them 128 is mind boggling. HH said he would like to win a Gr1 with Telescope ffs. And he is supposed to be the best older horse around.

Makes my Arc bets look a bit dodgy to say the least. Never mind.

A fairly moderate time for the race in comparison to the Voltigeur. Not sure I'd go along with the view expressed on tv that the time was hindered by the slow early pace, as that only seemed to be for a short while and they soon were going a decent pace. Will have to see later.

Will connections be able to resist a tilt at the Arc ? If that was just to freshen him up. Who dares wins.  LoveLoveLove

Ladbrokes are a stand out 8/1 for the Arc Brig and you can back him on Betfair at 9.5. Probably be able to lay him at 10 if you`re so inclined. You know it makes senseGrin

Thanks F. I think I will hang on to it just in case. A nice day tough not life changing eh? More or less as expected really but those prices it's just nice to see them go in. Did AOB mention the Arc in any of his interviews?

I cannot help thinking Moore or Fallon would really make the horse. JOB goes from sitting to hitting far too quickly when I would rather he got down behind him and pushed him out. I know he can't but RM and KF would.

I'm disappointed with you F. Not advising me to back Oz for the Irish Champion Stakes yesterday. Wink I've reinvested a small bit on at 1/2 with Spoils.

Yes well done brig, three year olds came to the race fresh , great run by TGG in second , no excuses for Arod  that i could see . TGG now my fav Horse of the flat this season  ,gone off KH big time with all the messing about , at least they  withdrew him this time  instead of  ****footing  around on unsuitable ground as in the  Eclipse

When they`re short I see no point in backing ante post. Rather wait until I know I am going to get a run even if it means taking a shorter price. Don`t mind taking the chance if it`s a decent price. So sorry but I would have waited.Grin

A very smooth performance,Australia is growing up,looked superb, travelled so well and is getting better all the time,I think 134 looks about right at the minute, and can't wait to see it run in the Breeders.

When: 20 Aug 14 17:18
Of course you are bang on F. Took some 1/2 with a view to laying off because he's 2/7 with others. We'll see.
Thanks Mac.
I can't help thinking this is an over reaction, even as an Oz fan. He won nicely but only beat TGG by a couple of lengths. That may not even be his best run to date. The older horses are over rated and today wasn't going to be their day anyway. If the bull shoite him too much AOB will put him away too soon ffs. Are they mad or just hyper?
By:
FELTFAIR
When: 20 Aug 14 17:32
Don`t under estimate The Grey Gatsby, he ran a fast time in the French Derby without too much effort. For me Australia`s performance was not diminished by beating TGG two lengths quite the opposite in my opinion.

Would love to see it run at 4 years showing all the same signs as his dam,who just got better, I have and do pick holes in todays opposition, not the best, like you say brigust, but easy to rate it with a positive outlook, like they will at about a 134 run today.
By:

When: 20 Aug 14 17:39
yes feltfair,The Great Gatsby is improved and any French Derby winner should be respected,I got him on 130.

form lines through Arod, who was a fresh horse today, indicate that TGG would have run second or third to Aus in the Derby ,
will he improve for  mile and a half on  good ground , don't know , Hughs thinks he will , very genuine enthusiastic Horse  like his sire Mastercraftsman

When: 20 Aug 14 17:54
Just a word on Mukhadram , he is a serious Horse and ran well below form today , he gives his all in every race  and  the race , the way it was run today , did not suit him , Australia  would probably get to him over ten on a  right hand track , but not  by much  at his best .
