was thinking of having a go this year, but it looks like this could end up a shambles ,as ever when another company take something over they make "improvements" and change the format .what is baldys take % percentage  on this ? is it the same as the last 15 odd years ?

On the mini games, freds have confirmed these are additional to your "core" entries, and are open to anyone, £2 per entry.  Details are sketchy though - click on the link about half way down the right hand side of this page: http://www.totesport.com/portal?action=GoFantasy&game=TTF&tab=FA&btag=a_7554b

First mini game runs Dec 15 - Jan 26, then there will be other games "throughout the season, including daily and Festival specials"...

Obviously there will be a Chelt special (you would hope), not sure about the Daily ones though!!!

Since I run a syndicate for a few mates, I am going to reserve a small amount of our combined stake for these, and enter a few fewer overall lines...

Just putting finishing touches to the shortlist, going to wait and see how Flemenstar does today, then get lists in early next week.  Have visions of the site crashing when we get to Thursday and Friday!  GL all, reckon it looks like 40 ish lines for me and my tiny syndicate!

1)is there no monthly prizes this year
2)you have to open an account, its not the old TTF site/company
3)is this new account an actual totep@ol betting account aswell or just a TTF account
4)why when i entered a team wasnt i offered these extra £2 competitions - is it a secret.
5)why as no horses/app form/full listand rules been printed in the post the day the team entering started
6)if its with the post/tote why dosent your post log in work as ttf log in - why 2 seperate accounts

no clear info, convulated entering system - usual sh1te that happens when tried and tested things are altered.

the thing a human being alive in england as recieved pound notes for setting this up - amazing

Yep, no monthly prizes but it looks like there are the mini games - 1st will run 15 Dec to 26 Jan, then there will be other meeting and other prizes.  Your original lines don't count for these and they have a separate £2 per line entry fee.  Does seem to be hidden away - but no option to enter yet - looks like they open in December.

Just had an account issue too - tried to log in but they said I had to provide proof of age as an old totepool account had been blocked as they couldn't verify it!  Had to scan in and email my passport!  Waiting on them confirming it's open now!  Something to watch out for if you leave it till the last minute...appears to be a standard totesport account I think.

Just tested out the entry system and entered one list, but forst had to make a deposit into the totepool account. Worked ok for me.

Yep, my account now sorted.  looks straightforward enough.  Another point to note that had passed me by initially, points start from this FRIDAY, not the Saturday, as (I think) happened previously...

I might have to send an e-mail regarding when your entry starts scoring. What does 'right away' even mean? Can i enter half way through the PPGC? What about just before the race? What about just before the first race of the day?

Seems to be some confusion about points scoring for late entries. All entries, whether made in shop, or online score points from the moment the entry is registered. This is the end of the online transactions or the time when you hand your entry in at a shop. Points are awarded for any race that goes off after this time. So, if you enter half way through the paddy power - your entry will not get any points for that race.
On the facebook page: Yes Steve, you will only score points for races going off after the time you make your entry on-line or hand your entry in at a shop.

Why on earth doesn't someone from Bald Fred or the competition administrators come on to forums such as this and answer the simple questions people have over this year's competition. I thought social networks were the new big thing but it appears they have their heads in the sand. Somewhat worrying if you have to set up an account rather than just enter your selctions and put your name and e mail address on the form. Gave up on this competition a few years back but do an annual comp with a mate for £100 each takes alternate picks so we have 10 different horses to follow throughout the year.

New website a vast improvement on the old IMO, takes minimal time to input the lines.  And, looks like will be really good and user friendly once it's up and running for the comp, lots of interesting features.  It would make sense for them to monitor forums like this, although not sure BF would want a rival on their turf?

With regards the bonus points for star horses, I think that on the face of it people may start thinking about looking for horses that are going to give them whopping returns but in reality I don't think there is anything in it, I don't really see any point in changing the usual approach, the bonus points won't add up to anything worthwhile and there is no sense in sacrificing reliable winning picks that will guarantee race wins trying to look for big priced winners that probably won't get you the same points.

You're spot on about Quevega, she can only score 20pts. Its a straight match and given that Tarla should mop up in G2 & G3 races, I think she should be nearly fav. Couldn't believe my eyes why I saw 7/1 Shocked

Potential risk of them doing U turn with Quevega, and ruinning more often, but unlikely.

Tarla is due a break is being aimed at Punchestown, not Cheltenham.

Tarla takes a bow

Willie Mullins' Tarla made a sparkling fencing debut in the T.A. Morris Memorial Mares Chase at Clonmel on Thursday.

In receipt of weight from nearly all of her rivals, Ruby Walsh decided not to hang about on Willie Mullins' six-year-old.

Sent off the 11-8 favourite on the back of some smart hurdles form, she was nevertheless thrown in at the deep end in this Grade Three event.

It was hard to tell Tarla was making her first start over fences, however, as she jumped like an old hand.

Main market rival Knockfierna was badly hampered by the fall of Ros Brin half a mile out, but she would have had her work cut out in any case as Tarla defeated Our Girl Salley by eight lengths without coming off the bridle.

Mullins said: "She was very good and she had looked a natural at home.

"When she won over hurdles at Punchestown it looked as though fences would be no problem.

"We schooled her then and she looked as good as she was out there.

"She is very quick, even when she was a little wrong at a fence. We'll mix it between hurdles and fences now.

"There is a bit more prize-money over fences. Trying to keep her sound will be the hard thing.

"She was off the track for two years so the worry is to see if she's sound in the morning. The Grade One at Punchestown is her end-of-season target."
