Have WAF too, only hoss not to score any points for me so far. Doubt very much he'll run in either RP chase or the GN. Not even too confident of him winning today to be honest[:(]

That was poor. AP might have made the difference

what do yee reckon is the minimum score ud want to be on now to have a chance of winning ?
By:
720-750
By:
That's not right - that's more like the overall winning score.
Now, I'd say you wouldn't want to be much below 380. |
By:
I misread ..that is the winning spread..still in shock with What A Friend costing me 15 points

Was a minor setback, but Golden Silver on Sunday is of greater importance!

I have 2 lists on 406 (tied for 64th place) after French opera's victory today. Was also hoping for bonus points but a measly tote return of £3 scuppered that.
It's all about the substitutions... can anyone dig out a big priced bonus winner that could be the difference! |

Tony don't think it's all to do with bonus horses. A lot of it is down to getting the right combination of the bonus winners at Cheltenham, and perhaps the Racing Post Chase winner thrown in there too. For example, neither of Kauto Star nor Denman have scored any points yet, and a first and second for them in the Gold Cup will move thousands of people up the table significantly. Similarly, combining this with the Champion Hurdle, Queen Mother & Ryanair winners will send lists soaring (especially if they are won by horses with few or no points at present). World Hurdle not so important, as almost everyone will have Big Buck's.
The bonus horses will have importance as far as giving you the opportunity to get the Arkle or RSA winners too. However, I think subs will actually incrementally help lists that are further down the leaderboard, as those at the top will possibly already have 9 or 10 scoring horses. If their bonus horses do pick up points, it will only benefit them by the difference between what they score, and the lowest scoring horse you already have in your list. You're in a great position though at 406. We're just behind you. |

I can't decide.
I might just stick with my original lists of 10. [:x] |

Golden Silver won!

how many points is golden silver worth please.

I think it's 20 as the Euro prize was €30,225, and the exchange rate would be about 1.13 which would make £26,748, which equates to 20 points (the ex rate might be a bit different as I think it might have been re-evaluated in January). He could also get a few extra € following the defection of the 4th enetred horse, Scotsirish, with 4th place prize money going to the winner. Do't know if that would be enough to take the prize above £30,000 (doubt it).

am i being thick but why cant I see the leaderboard
By:
Because the bonus window is open.
By:
Joci, still would have wanted to see what the leaders have..pity
By:
Think they must close it to prevent you looking at the opponents lists.
How are you doing now? |
By:
Hi JOCI, 411 PTS(48TH) and lists on 386 and 376...I need at least one dark horse 20/1 winner...from memory the leader has 8 of my horses so best I am looking for is a top 20 finish..how you doin?
By:
Ask JOCI nicely and he will show you what the leaders have....
By:
Best list 413, then one on 400 and one on 381.
The best list has Weird Al as the non scoring horse, so if he shows up for the Racing Post Chase..... |
By:
well done Joci...if Wierd Al does the biz that will put you right in the mix..very best of luck
By:
Cheers - probably asking too much though. Working on bonus horses over next few days. Some big decisions.

When will leaderboard be updated?
By:
It has been done now COM2. Im Jt 13th on Feb List but no more runners
. The leader has got there without Kempes ... |

Nice going chaps. It all happens at the festival for me now. Too many GC horses, but if I perm the subs I've a good chance of hitting some more points - although I suspect lots of lists will do likewise.
Been looking at the last five years of Aintree results and there are very few horses that perform there after winning at Chelts, with many swerving it altogether. |

Is it the same person at the top of the leaderboard?

Surely everyone waits until the last day to catch all the news?

Best for me is 175th
Nacarat to win the RP Chase and I've just subbed in Medermit and Wymott for the novice chases at The Festival. Well you've got to love a trier haven't you? [;)] |
By:
Best list 54th overall on 413 points. Some thinking to be done re bonus horses. Weird Al out of the Racing Post Chase a blow for that list.

unlucky Joci..I have dropped to 67th on 411 points..thinking our only chance is to have a couple of 20/1 bonus winners...I must have changed my mind 20 times already

Well I aint winning anything without substitutions... I agree Alderbrook, I also need a couple of big priced bonus winners to have a chance of winning |

Its intriguing really who will pick what etc - huge chance that the leader doesnt have enough in the locker for me - Bonus horses from him/her will be interesting - it is all down to the Irish horses if Golden Silver and Hurricane Fly win then the leaderboard wont change much if they dont then the 400 pts will probably start to fly.
I am not sure what horses to put in at all and have some great placed lists - do you hunt for a grand national winner? do you look for horses that will win at both Cheltenham and Aintree ? can you cover the bonus races? bet safe or go long ? Interesting to see who has put what in already. |
By:
Your totally right Ad man,Should the leader's slip up Im well within shooting distance, and I can honestly say picking my two subs has been the most headwreckingly painful fun I've had since I had a girlfriend
By:
Trouble is chosing obvious subs will not out-fox all th ehigher placed lists. Chosing something obscure carries the risk of a total blow out. But hey, I think I have to gamble now (note to self, be braver at the start ( didn't I say that last year?)).

Obvious subs if you dont have them are:
Binocular - Champion prepared for one race Master Minded - Somersby far too close for my liking Big Bucks - is it possible that Grand Cru can beat him Finians Rainbow - Time for Rupert - banker for a lot of people Now as the records of favs under 4/1 is so poor circa 8/9 from 60 in the last three years and Big Bucks is two of them ! Gold Cup is hugely competitive Champion Hurdle is between three What can win the Arkle and the RSA will be on most peoples minds - Time for Rupert and Finians will be massive choices for people me thinks ![]() ![]() ![]() |
