You'd expect a thread that reads: 'Most painful losses of your betting history' to contain just that. But of course, you'd be wrong. For some, it's an opportunity to aftertime an £800 win!
Storm Alert 01 Aug 16 20:57 Joined: 22 Oct 02 | Topic/replies: 4,050 | Blogger: Storm Alert's blog My most painful loss was the loss of potential winnings when in 1988 I wrote out a £1 Lucky15 (15 x£ 1)at the Newmarket July meeting Cold Marble 9/1 Soviet Star 15/8 Hello Vaigly 5/1 Llyn Gwynant 14/1 It would have paid nearly 6k (the early morning prices were bigger as I remember) an enormous amount of me in those days. Unfortunately I changed my mind and ripped it up and wrote a £40 double on Soviet Star and Hello Vaigly and picked up about £800. |

The nightmare of early season betting
MrMeaner MrMeaner 06 Aug 16 10:48 Joined: 26 Jul 12 | Topic/replies: 563 | Blogger: MrMeaner's blog As someone who likes to place his bets on strong probabilities - as it's served me very well over the years - I hate the unpredictability of the first few games of a new season. You've got teams with new managers, players etc. Promoted sides full of fire & enthusiasm. & players, who last season looked distinctly average, suddenly become match-winners. It was nearly a year ago I went to Anfield expecting us to turn over West Ham with ease. Based on the simple fact that we always have. But Bilic has moulded a very good side & gone was that soft under-belly that the Hammers had carried for decades. We were smashed at home that day 3-0. Now as it turned out I layed Liverpool to win on the any other score market. So whilst I won money that day, I dare say that result was a coupon buster for many people. I have started doing a lot more in-play betting now. Think it's a lot safer than the pre-match bets. yes a nightmare this early season betting, for some filth |

On a Mark Johnston thread over at the Horse Racing Forum, previous offender McCoy Carp shows he hasn't lost his touch. I like the way it's subtly constructed, with nicely placed emoticons and then ending on a note of modesty.
McCoy Carp 15 Aug 16 15:12 Hello all, hope the punting is going well. Been very busy with work & not been betting much or following this thread, but actually had a winning day Friday. Backed Highly Sprung @ 9/2 then very next race followed up with Ghayyer 7/1 early, rule 4, but still returned 6.3 to 1. two winners in a row, whatever next! ![]() [ This image is no longer available. ] |

Nice to see form meaning something. All her wins on GF going today was....GF. She was favourite to beat a horse who gave Minding and Seventh Heaven a scare ( Queens Trust ) TOP G1 filly form. And thanks to the guy who does the handicapping she ran off a mark of..... 90 brilliant. Never put a post up pre race because we all know what normally happens it goes t1ts up afterwards. Trainer in form was just a bonus got almost 2/1 on here unreal for a group horse. A truly stupendous piece of filth from this scumbag. |

A mate of mine used to work in Soho Square and they were well aware of his 'bungs' in the tranfer market. Financially he's well 'behind the rent'... just shows how desperate they are employing him. No point in debating the Big Sam allegations when you can aftertime a big win. |

11 Oct 16 19:49 Did anyone get 8/1 for Limato just after the interview with his trainer by Gina Harding on Champions Day 5 day entries with top connections eg Gosden, Candy, Buckley, Simcock, etc? Thanks to Ok Koral I managed to £20 on him. Rancid stuff. |
|
By:
Only rancid if it was not true though. I'm sure there are others who noticed 'ok koral' was offering 8/1 whilst 'paddies' and 'sportsb***' only 2/1.
'Do not look a gift horse in the mouth', as the saying goes, never truer than with bookies! |
|
By:
unclepuncle,
Just realised I'd an email today from 'ok koral' to say from immediate effect my account will not be receiving/credited with 'free bets, bog and enhanced sp' ie no promotion of any kind. I think it was Limato related. |

what a race i backed the 3 winners but i won't have a bet in the final as i would'nt know what is going to to win, it could open the door to something that finished second in the heats with 3 fast starters, but i hope the best dog wins and we dont get trouble in it which is a possibility good luck to all What a scumbag. |

Now you are rolling. Can't believe the drift for Present Man before the race and even more during when it went out to 20 or more briefly despite always being within a length of the lead. Backed it at 3.9 this morning and again at 6.8 in running.! As usual with Paul, as soon as the prize money goes above £15k they start winning The gift that keeps on giving. What a stone cold pr!ck. |

02 Dec 16 15:54 Joined: 07 Sep 15 | Topic/replies: 2,609 | Blogger: impossible123's blog unclepuncle I was on UDS at 3/1 because I saw value as Douvan, to me, was probably an unlikely runner given another suitable race in Ireland and Mullins' lack of propensity to run his best horses in England this time of the year. For your info, Idaho was not the 'fav' for the St Leger when he was priced up at 10/1 similarly with Seventh Heaven (9/1) in the Yorkshire Oaks; Lucida (12/1) in the 2015 1000G; The Last Samuri 25/1 (National); Churchill (12/1) 2000G; Altior (5/1) Arkle; Don Cossack (8/1) Gold Cup, and many others. I only go on 'value' given depth of race eg probable opposition/runners. If Found had not been retired I'd not back her next season either no matter what because her win/run ratio is extremely poor, and on several occasions was beaten at odds-on; she lost in the Champion Stakes and the Breeders Cup - I hope you were not on her for these two races. another sickening post |
