Now that looked a nice horse NTD won the uttox bumper with today .
|
|

That was the un-named horse that worked with Imperial Commander at Kempton in his race course gallop. Still a bit weak, but a nice horse. If you want one to follow - Midnight Tuesday, a lot of developing to do but a gorgeous horse with a quality engine - could be a serious horse in time.

Cheers BD. I shall be following that one that won today as well. Looked a lovely horse in the making.

Does anyone know of a service provider that allows you to enter a watchlist of horses and will email you the evening before they are due to run? In yesterday's RP I saw that a mare I liked the look of after seeing her school as an unraced three-year-old, hosed up following a change of trainer [:x]. A service like that would save a lot of time and frustration and I'm sure plenty of followers who read this thread would appreciate it.

horseracebase.com will allow you to go on every race day and see via your homepage if your horses to follow are running. Last I heard they were upgrading to allow you to do this the day before, not sure it's live yet. When it is I'll be ditching RI, as this site is just as good and you only have to pay a voluntary small sub every month. I have no connection to it btw.

ps the hairs on the back of my neck stood up just thinking of Carvill's Hill in the Welsh National.
|
|
By:
R&W, the hairs on Scu's neck stood up too, every time CH approached a fence :)

|

He actually jumped well that day- I was there!

Routed Party Politics giving away lumps of weight didn't he ?

A bit of insomniac searching on t'internet has turned up this free service from good old sporting life. Wish it was still in print. You can choose 25 horses and they'll email or text when it's due to run so no more tearing your hair out when you've missed one. I've kicked off with Cue Card and Midnight Tuesday.
http://nagme.sportinglife.com/ Carvill's Hill didn't manage much of an arch in his back but he was an absolute monster that day taking the fences like hurdles. The podgy one knew how to get him beat though didn't she. |

By:
red&white: the best service, and the one I use is free and its on Easy Odds. You can enter up to 200 names.

Yep, gave PP 19lbs and a 20L beating: "made all, soon clear, unchallenged"

Beating Party Politics and a whole bunch of other smart chasers utterly senseless. best weight carry performance i have seen. RIP.

By:
Wayward Lad, you're either the returning hero (great to see him back the other day wasn't it) or you had a few quid on Morley Street when Brad was looking to win by a neck.
The memories are stronger with National Hunt than the flat. |

Carvhill hill will always divide fans, i still think he was a well handicapped mincer that hid.
I will always blame a top class horse and trainer for not knowing a horses ability. ![]() |

You can make notes of as many horses as you like on www.gg.com - they'll e-mail you the day before one of yours is running with the saved notes. Click on GG-Alert on the left hand side, then Your Alerts.

All good suggestions, thanks.
I reckon you were on the sauce last night Ibrahima and I should know I've swallowed a few. I would agree about Carvill's putting up a superb weight carrying performance. I can picture him coming up the home straight and wouldn't have had a clue what else was in the race. They were irrelevant that day. Denman was good in the Hennesey though wasn't he. |

Looking Forward to Perth this week. Always feels like the start of the jumps season for me yet it's Perth's finale. Grand little track. Thursday has the best card and I'll be interested to see how Frontier Dancer gets on. I was there when Fundamentalist came home the easy winner making his debut in the same novice chase. He wasn't my favourite horse as earlier in the year he'd ruined a significant ante-post slip with Inglis Drever's name on it (Sun Alliance novice hurdle). History shows it was an awesome performance that day. A shame he didn't fulfil his potential.

|
By:
Be disappointed if Frontier Dancer doesn't put up a bold show
|
|
By:
Hope so Bobby, been waiting for him. You going at all?
|
|
By:
oh and who's on board?
|
|
By:
Paddy, he is only suspended on Wednesday as far as I know.
Heading up there for the two days, it is a great place, all hail Sam Moreshead and his team - if racing for change want to see all that is good about racing thats where they should head - instead they are trying to rip all of the prize money out and hand it to pointless all weather dross which makes no contribution to the levy. I was up there for the August meeting, place is packed, and Sam and his team had to raise all of the prize money from sponsors. |

Cheers mate. If I can clear work I might pop up myself from Stirling.
Just asked re jockey as I saw Paddy on Pigeon Island. Have a great time. |
|
By:
I'll be making the trip down from Aberdeen. We're a bit short of courses up here sadly but we do have one of the best small jumps tracks in the country thanks to Sam Morshead, and I try to make the most of it. I once had a really nice chat with him about Willie Wumpkins as Sam saw that horse's backside a few times at Cheltenham.
Where do you stand if you go SS? Given your name that way I'll know where to avoid ;) |
|
By:
Only been back two years after being in England for 24 yrs ( hence Sweaty Sock = Jock) - never been to Perth! Hope I can make it though.
|
|
By:
Ah, I'm not up on Jockney rhyming slang. Try and make it to Perth if you can though, well worth the effort. It reminds me of what Wetherby used to be like 20 years ago. That was my former local before I was banished up here.
