Oh, it's the Barrys Tea. I'm not really bothered who brews up!

Very happy with 7/2 and 3/1 B*ylesports Hero in the Produce Stakes, but didn't do so well in the other two competitions.
Redwood Mick seems to have the Cox Cup at his mercy after doing the clock in the semis on going rated -30 slow, quite remarkable! Wanted to back Woe Katie in the Harry's Tea at 4/1 but coz of all the whoo-har of the English Derby, never got round to it. Only 9/4 now and looks a top staying bitch to me. Hope to watch her race Irish Derby Night. Just a quick mention of the Race Of Champions, Tralee. Skywalker Farloe just got the better of Sidarian Blaze in the heats and it could be close again, not ruling out Ballymac Vic, who needs no introduction Good luck! |

**** Hero uncertain to run in the final.

03/06/2014
There are genuine fears concerning the fitness of **** Hero in advance of Sunday’s €30,000 BIF Produce Stakes final at Clonmel. Reports that the Brendan Matthews trained flying machine had a nail problem were confirmed by trainer’s son Damian as he reported that “he pulled a nail out of a toe on his right hind leg and he is tender on it. We hope to have him x-rayed on Tuesday and our big worry is that an infection might set in. We are doing everything possible to avoid him picking up an infection. “Obviously we really want to run him in such a prestigious contest as the Produce Stakes final and to support the sponsors who have been such good supporters of this event. It really is in the lap of the Gods and if we avoid an infection he should be able to take his place. But we will be monitoring it right through the week”. **** Hero has been the undoubted star of the classic and has reached the final unbeaten. When he won his semi-final on Sunday he was recording his seventh straight win. Damian feels that the incident occurred around the third bend on Sunday evening. |

If I bet Chriistmas Day falls on December 25th this year, it would probably take place on a different day!

Have a real strong opinion on the race of champions and think there is a good bet in it, just need to get on now

Graham Holland has notified Tralee that Hooverville has been withdrawn from ****.com Race of Champions final on Friday night due to a TFL injury picked up in a home gallop. The final will now be a five dog race. |
|
By:
Fancied Sidarian Blaze big before the NR and see no reason to change my mind and for some strange reason he is the same price after the withdrawal as before.
In the semi he didn't trap great but showed enough up to lead and then absolutely took off 2 to 3 before getting caught late by Skywalker Farloe who had a good pitch going into the back. This time however i can see Blaze again leading into the corner and then he can open up 2 to 3 and build up a winning advantage. Obviously Vic is the big danger to the corner but if Blaze can trap from 1 i think he can beat him up but even if he doesn't i still think he can do him 2 to 3. Skywalker Farloe will obviously be powering home again but this time i think he might struggle to beat the 5 to the corner and he could well be turning last here and it will leave him with too much to so if Blaze goes around. At 2/1 he looks a bet to me |
|
By:
Sorry to disagree PF, but at marginally shorter 11/10, i'd rather be on Farloe Skywalker. Never been convinced about Blaze getting 503m properly. He must do everything right to stand a chance of turning the tables on Skywalker, imo. Any kind of run and think there's only one winner. Vic not quite the dog of old since comeback
|
|
By:
Oh, obviously it's Skywalker Farloe. I'm feeling a bit dyslexic today!

Any opinions on the Northern Irish Derby? Didn't notice it last year!
![]() |
|
By:
Nearly went for the inaugural running, think Leeview Jet was favourite? Snook up on me and cant go this year coz got coastal resort in Wales booked with missus that weekend. Brogan Stranger, now European King, would be a player at best but failed to shine in the Derby. Graduation Day did better but may not be quite as good after injury and plenty short enough

By:
My opinion of Drumbo is I would not waste my valuable time on it, it's best to totally ignore Drumbo form when dogs go elsewhere

.... and I think we all know who's opinion counts for more ! (thank goodness)

NO DECISION BUT **** NOW A LIKELY RUNNER
06/06/2014 **** Hero is a likely runner in Sunday’s BIF Produce Stakes according to trainer’s son Damian Matthews yesterday. Speaking from the Newry kennel, Matthews said that “if the final of the BIF Produce Stakes was on tonight, **** Hero would be a runner”. However, he did admit that the dog is still slightly tender on the right hind leg from which he lost a nail on Sunday in the semi-finals. We’ll be bringing him back to the vet on Friday morning and we will know more afterwards. But it’s like a toothache, you can go to bed and your mouth is fine but you wake up and it is all swollen. I am nervous going out to see him each morning but so far so good”. |

Fingers crossed for B*ylesports Hero
Done a little Skywalker Farloe, Redwood Mick, Woe Katie (outright) treble, paying 9.24/1 |
|
By:
Well done PF. You was right, Skywalker no run
|
|
By:
of course i was right
![]() all about the draw, Blaze walked out and still got to the front on the bend |
|
By:
Shame not as good for me in Derby
|
|
By:
theres a shock !
|
|
By:
Just looked at the tracks on igb. Isnt Ballyskeagh Drumbo Park?
|
|
By:
yes it is
think i will take on Droopys Nidge tonight with Quick Blaze in 1 @ 13/2 ![]() ![]() If Blaze can come away running (has the box to do so) i would not be that shocked to see him go close or even turn over the bottom, there is a lot of pace up to the corner in 2,3 and 4 and Droopys Nidge did only barely clear the 2 dog to the corner last week, i can see him trapping much better so i do wonder in the back of my mind if he can clear them, if he doesn't and Blaze can lead around on the fence i think he will really have to go some to pick him up |
|
By:
Only had a quick look at Shelbourne, will be flitting between that and RPGTV, but spotted some.
Early on, Razldazl Pacino, Emers Superstar and Garryvoe Jet, all just for a little interest Think 3/1 College Maybe could be fair to upset odds-on Shes A Terror Mainly wanting 12/1 antepost Borna Gem to overcome widest draw of all and will be looking at Droopys Nidge enhance his Derby claims As PF said on another thread, cracking finale. Think Silva leads but fancy Sugar Ray to get up Good luck! |
|
By:
Pacino likely to be short enough so can't bet him - must lead then not even sure he definitely gets home
Emers Superstar i would have been with but worried with him drawn outside of Amigo, not sure i will take him on but could with either the 2 or 4 price depending think Danmar Jack will be one of the better bets on the card, can't see Garryvoe Jet (move rails) clearing both Highview Kid and Native Custom and Jack should get a solo and can lead all |
|
By:
party time !
|
|
By:
Droopys Nidge very prominent but in trouble and shuffled back, finished last. Bitter disappointment he did no running once he had room. Maybe he needs to lead and latch on, which wont be likely in the Derby?
Couldn't get streaming last night and igb results all over the place. They gave Quick Blaze as the winner first, then put up a result for the finale half an hour before it had been run. Amateurs! ![]() |

30,000euro payday B*ylesports Hero does the job, yay! Wonder if he was running on something like Kereight King was allegedly running on?
|
|
By:
Perhaps not a great idea to even suggest that on here Woody - I assume the timing of the post is significant.
![]() I thought Midtown Raffa ran the race of his life last night - maybe even a shade unlucky. B0ylesports Hero looks like he could do with a rest after being on the go non-stop for 3 months. I couldn't have him on my mind for the Irish Derby as the extra distance is sure to stretch him to the limit. Does anyone know the dates for the opening rounds? |
|
By:
Ripped toe like Kereight. Many have said Kereight didn't perform in the Derby coz wasn't allowed pain-killer. No idea how much truth in it, if any?

Very pleased with top Irish staying bitch Woe Katie, who won the Barrys Tea 750 last night and happy with the progress of European King in the Northern Irish Derby, Drumbo Park
Paradise Silva was surprisingly eliminated from the Golden Muzzle competition at Limerick. Quite liking Ardfert Thunder for that Good luck! |
|
By:
No Blue Peter badge for saying Corn Cuchulainn, 750yds Harolds Cross, should really be between Woe Katie and Shanless Becky. Personally, Katie did the job for me in the Barrys Tea, whereas Becky cost me lots in the Golden Jacket, lost nothing in defeat though. Always rated this pair very highly and hope they're on the card Derby final night. Re-this event though, had to go 3/1 Katie, who wont be stopping in front with Becky coming a bit too late, if they both reach the final
Good luck! |
|
By:
Fancy a couple at Lifford tonight and Power got prices, 4/5 Mind The Net and 11/8 Farloe Nutter, double paying 3.28/1 (BOG)
Good luck! |

Shanless Becky withdrawn from the Corn Cuchulainn

Very disappointing Corn Cuchulainn for my money. After Shanless Becky withdrawn, Woe Katie pulled up injured in her heat. Hope the pair okay for later in the season but staying bitches ranks very much tarnished for me now

Congratulations to Terence McCroary owner of Fernhill Dusk (Kinloch Brae/Perfect Woman) who won the Final of the €5000 Broadway Pet Foods & Fast Trap Kennel Supplies Longford Derby. The 12/1 shot finished like a train to deny Surley Bassey by a head in 29.79.
