Paradise Silva was massive @ 11/2 and 9/2 - there is no juice in his price now though at 3/1, it looks about right

He was a good dog alright, made the Derby Plate final and got done on the line in the final of the Mulvaney 600 by Vultrui, he was a bit nuts though, waited around at times in front

Open 600 Shelbourne. Final scheduled for English Derby final night, otherwise might have had an extra trip over

Abortive attempts at Plough Lane by Ballymac Matt (5/2 in a place! Laugh), Deanridge Pennys and Vulturi, with Cable Bay not even making it Plain. Think Greenwell Hulk will go well but price about right 6/1 after his recent tumble, so mainly had a stab at 25/1 Highview Apollo. Not too far behind Ballymac Matt's best 550yds and just look at the price difference, especially as Matt could be under a slight cloud after disappointing in England. Also think 20/1 Base Camp could have some mileage in it, won the race where Hulk ko

Good luck!

Did i Woody'd my last 3 Irish selections? Got 4/1 Ballydoyle Honey, 7/2 Droopys Oddysey and 9/1 Amazing Dude. 4/9, 11/8 and 1/4 now!

you shot your bolt too early again Woody and starting crowing when they where not over Sad the superbitch should win for you at least

Oddysey really is some pig, dropped himself out and was not even hunting it for the majority of the race on Saturday night

Yeah, disapointed. Knew what i was getting with 7/2 Oddysey but Dude really should have won at 9/1, said one for (my) notebook. Covered the field there in final, so still small profit anyway

Got pulled and you said any dog is shorter in the final than at the start but the trick is getting your dog in the final. Good luck if you got one of the others against Ballydoyle through, doubt you did but Honey obvious to me. Said would be shorter than 4/1 and she is, 1/10 in a place! Laugh

Race Of Champions tonight and I really fancy Laughil Bolt @ 11/4, 5/2, 9/4 - think they're all good prices

Paradise Silva will surely struggle to clear Sidarian Vega to the corner tonight, on last weeks running he will anyway and then the insides have the added worry of Midtown Raffa in 3 pacing up well and cutting the corner as he did last week. All this should play into the hands of Laughil Bolt in 4 who should have the measure of those outside him to the corner and once leading them and turning he will be tough to hold (unless Silva does manage to lead around). Of the others I would say Rural Hawaii would be worth a saver @ 7s if you can get on incase he smashes ad leads Bolt around and then the same comments I made above would apply to Hawaii.

Laughil Bolt 5pts @ 11/4
Rural Hawaii 2pts @ 7/1

Rural Hawaii wins from Midtown Raffa Grin

Silva could not clear Vega, Raffa ran a blinder coming back at Hawaii at the line after Hawaii went a few clear at the bottom bends

Jumeirah Aldo also out of the Puppy Final - if no reserve if will help Hillcroft Hero run up but then will also help the others get a run at him coming home - think i would rather a full field

what price would you make the the ballydoyle bitch for the irish derby pf?i see spoils are 16/1 which is very short just wondering what you would see as a fair price?

Took Ballydoyle Honey a very long time to peg back Hovex Princess but just got there, phew!

Ballymac Matt did well. Droopys Bomber bombed out and against market expectations, a good second with some smart dogs behind. In the other heat, Skywalker Farloe surprisingly started quickly, moved middle, looked a bit like his old self. Good final in store

Offshore Bound won well and antepost pick Balline Bolt, who ran okay in second. Tyrur McDonald took one of the worst falls i've ever seen. Hope he's alright

In the 600yds final, played 5/1 Greenwell Hulk and 16/1 Deanridge Pennys (each-way). Reasoning behind it, think it could be very open if strong favourite Ballymac Matt doesnt lead round the opening bends and only just got round second bend from the fast starter on his inside in the heats. Hulk is just smart on his day and think Pennys a big price for a dog of his ability, place prospects

Good luck!

I could not back either of those @ the prices tbh, Deanridge Pennys is running awful and cannot see how he possibly clears all those inside him which he must do to win. As for Greenwell Hulk i think he has an awful draw, Leave At Dawn has yet to trap but is good up and brilliant 2 to 3, the problem for Hulk is he wants the rails and Leave At Dawn is middle run up, unless Hulk smashes or Leave At Dawn walks out i cannot see how he possibly clears him to get to the rail.

Then you have Ballymac Matt who is absolutely plotted up, he was too far out last week but despite trouble run up as he wanted to move in still got to the front into the 2nd and won well. This time drawn 2 with a dog in 3 that's middle run up and only Droopys Bomber inside him, Bomber has been going up well but now has that horrible 1 box from the back traps (which the majority of dogs walk from) Matt should be out and leading around on the fence. The other one with a great draw is Skywalker Farloe and he is the danger if running the way he did Saturday night.

I think they've priced it fine at the top of the market, i would have Leave At Dawn in just ahead of Greenwell Hulk 3rd though

Cheers for that. As you say, some ifs and buts there so as i said could be an open race, not certain how it will unfold. Agree Matt obviously the one to beat but feel Hulk and Pennys a shade understimated at 5/1 and 16/1 respectively

Skywalker did not run the bends great? Really showed his pace on the straight parts of the track.

Incredibly subdued commentary from Fortune. They were two cracking times and he sounded like he was watching A4 affairs. Why me managed to get so excited about Tyrur Mata and not these clocks is beyond me.

ECC Timber Champion 550, had 9/2 Rural Hawaii and 12/1 Balline Bolt at the start. Prices still similar but not ideal drawn against each other in tonight's semis

Corn Cuchulainn, Harolds Cross. Droopys Oddysey let me down in a final recently, so shying away this time. Might be a case of jumping out of the pan into the fire though, coz little bet 10/1 Sidarian Lisa. Useful when focussed and fully tuned. Just hope she's fit enough to do herself justice

Good luck!

Shame looking like no antepost for the Tipperary Cup, first ran at Thurles in 1963. Sure Emers Superstar and Curious Boy will go a long way. Interesting to a lesser degree might have been Star Ace and Across The Way

I think the draw is very messy in the ECC Timber Final so am going out to play the one i think has the best of the draw today, going to double him up with a dog for the Derby as well (if they'll take them)

Will miss the card this week (more bothered about missing the trials) which is hardly great anyway, should start to kick into gear next week with the Champion Stakes

Skywalker Rory is the dog i like in the final, last week was the first time since he has come to Shelbourne i have been really impressed with him, he got battered at boxes and for most of the run up and never lost any ground on Rural Hawaii from the 2nd home while he got much the better run up, this time the draw i think will favour Rory.

Balline Bolt in 1 was there last week and blew any chance he had of winning by moving off and into Skywalker Rory, he does that again he is likely coming together with Hovex Prince, even then he has Ballybough Mike in 3 who had moved left every time drawn this far out at Shelbourne. Hovex Prince has a real tough draw because of all this.
On the outside Skip Glory has popped out both times from 6 but he moves markedly inwards run up which has to be a major worry for Rural Hawaii who is not always the best at boxes and will struggle if getting his ground taken run up, 5 and 6 would surely be better the other way around.

All this for me leaves Skywalker Rory with a lovely draw, 3 going rails and the big chance 6 takes 5d ground or they come together and Rory could be gone, he takes a middle course up to the corner and showed decent pace up and plenty of courage to barge his way through to 2nd on the corner last week. This time i think he can lead and if he does i will be surprised if he is beaten.

Also done some doubles with Secreto @ 40s for the Derby

Tipperary Cup, Thurles

Already had a little bet 8/1 Emers Superstar and might have topped up still about the same price now, but his semi is loaded. Can start much better than last time, but will have to think about it. Like this Curious Boy in there but bad draw and needs another flier to get round from T5. However, if turning unscathed, 4/1 would be big outright. So, looking at the other semi, 10/1 Tynwald Rodney (each-way) seems to be the bet for me

Irish Sprint Cup, Dundalk
Think 10/1 Tynwald Bish fair enough now and a couple of token each-wayers at big odds 33/1 Quarterland Nico and Shocked. Fancy one as much as Bish but not on yet. Will let you know later. Bet youre all waiting with bated breath and on tenterhooks with anticipation, not! Laugh

You could argue he is coming into the Derby (if you ignore Dundalk) with very similar form to Laughil Blake last year and he has proven form around Shelbourne in race where as Laughil Blake had not
