Trainer Pat Rosney was delighted with Newinn Yolo’s first look at Wimbledon in a trial this morning.
The 2014 Greyhound of the Year runner up clocked 28.61 in a solo and is now set to contest the Racing Post Juvenile next Tuesday. Rosney said: “I couldn’t have asked for any more than that. The track was very wet. It was too early for a going allowance to be calculated but I would be surpised if it wasn’t at least .30 or .40 slow. He took the bend well, probably along the line of trap two. “At the time it was the fastest of the day. Airfield Paudie was the only other dog to break 29 seconds with a 28.80 trial and he is a fast dog in his own right. Bubbly Zeus did 29.36. “As far as Yolo is concerned, I couldn’t have asked for any better and presuming he is okay when we get home and he cools down, then we are all set for next week.” |

He is an aeroplane, 27.42 around Shelbourne, whoooosh
By:

By:
Presume he trialled this morning
By:
didnt see him on the don trial sheet list? gone from +2.5k yesterday to -10.5 now. Biggest loser by far and had to dip into the reserve's. You might get 300 fiery in abit! lol.

By:
who ever's betting rafa...can you please go and bet india to win the cricket world cup in similar style. I need to relasea some funds! lol.

What's that gimp doing with Bubbly Zues?? Trials him every bloody week and every week (bar 1) his trials have been awful, you'd swear he is nailing the dog ffs
Puzzles me what they're at and I wouldn't be too happy if I was a backer for this |
By:
Few more trials might graded on !!
By:
just went to have 50 quid on 33/1 shot for he derby with lads. Offered a £1
![]() ![]() |
By:
blake last price matched 30.00 ???
![]() ![]() |
By:
Think they're stupid if they don't come over for the chances of that pot
![]() |
By:
someone bet him back into 12's after the first run in the easter cup. Havent got a clue if he's coming.
Mug backer with inside layer or inside backer and mug layer? Seems strange to lay him at above 20 with no info? |
By:
no decision has been made or will be made until after the Easter Cup (and they're far from stupid)
By:
please tell mary.... he's probably not good enough for the english
anyway, and she should stick to all these poor irish comps. ![]() ![]() Come on the Blake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
By:
Surly give him trail at Wimbledon
Than make up there minds Be your never know things if he don't come over for look!! Your think what's the point if the owners of a dog like him stick there noses up To a biggest ever derby pot + having one of them dogs in million too boot Surly trials if sound !!! |
By:
If they said yes what price do you think
The firms shave him into ??? |
By:
I think the firms would have him around the 7 or 8/1 mark if they came out and said he was going to come over.
Wins easter cup and the books would probably follow lads and clip him into 9 or 10/1 Announced he's having a trial in prep 8's or 9/1 goes woosh first look 7/1 (id want sub 28.50 first run) time of draw, hopefully get my 6/1 and less matched on here. Iv got some nasty reds now in the outright, just preying he comes. ![]() Please Mary! ![]() |
By:
I wouldn't back any Irish dog at that price, who in their right mind does ?

Draper took Eske and Warhawk over to Shelbourne for trials before their races, so dont see why they cant do the same with Blake, especially as the English Derby is basically the be all and end all to the winner this year
By:
I know you've backed him and are pocket talking but I would say winning the Irish Derby would be more important to them this year, if he wins that again he will be the first dog since Spanish Battleship back in the 50s or whenever it was to win back to back derbies (Irish)
By:
That would be a tremendous achievement but isnt the financial reward there scant in comparison to Wimbledon? Dont forget we are talking sterling not euros over here!
By:
I'm no good at maths but reckon the with current exchange rate, English Derby worth about 330,000 euros
By:
The money will not influence their decision, they'll do what they feel is best for the dog
By:
That's quite right too but where's the harm in giving him a trial to see if track's okay? Razldazl Jayfkay was even brought over races beforehand
By:
If he where mine I would give him a sprint or two after the Easter Cup and if happy one or 2 four bend trials and then a rest, however that is just me. If they don't go it does not make them stupid, the owner is as clever as they come

Yolo going to Shawfield. Sanchez had tendon removed, off for 4 weeks
By:
Shawfield, yuk another to cross of the list for me so
going to have a good bet on a dog in this in a few weeks to add to my 1 dog team ![]() |
By:
Why wait a few weeks. Dogs with chances will surely only contract in price now?
By:
he could get injured while racing
connections may have a chance of heart and go for a different comp that he would be a nigh on good thing to win |
By:
have i got him listed pf?
![]() |
By:
would not know, no point looking on here, prices are awful
![]() |
By:

By:
yes he is listed on here

1.01 it's an Irish dog

Although I've got a couple, I'd still be a bit wary of the Irish really. No doubting they got some brilliant dogs but as in past years, many dont even come over, as I've discovered to my cost. The 1/4mill carrot may incline some owners/trainers to take the bate this time, but err on the cautious side. Super dogs like Laughil Blade, Bearatipp, Sidarian Blaze, Droopys Nidge, Farloe Hunter, Sidarian Vega, Farloe Blitz, Droopys Braedon, the list goes on for ages, would have good chances if taking part, but i'm not convinced. Will check how many actually made it when the declarations come out. Lanza would be rubbing his hands and raking it in with all the non-participants which would have been backed, wouldn't you mate?
By:
Oh, you can add Hoodwinked to that list too
By:
he's won 1 race (a brilliant run) and now you're declaring him a super dog, you really need to stop creaming yourself every time a dog does a flashy run Woody
he may well turn out to be a superstar but ffs wait and see |
By:
i think there will be around 40 irish dogs. The vast majority have all been backed. Someone came looking to lay skidroe again this week with 100 quid up at 100/1 so prob something has happened to him recently and he might not come over but i think lots in the list will.
If none came over... that would be great woody! when i get a chance woody...il do you a list. |
